Our Usual Configurator Ritual<\/h3>\n

Whenever Porsche releases a new model, my husband has made it a habit to open Porsche Japan\u2019s car configurator and say, “If it were me, this is what I\u2019d pick~<\/strong>,” while imagining the specs. Even though he\u2019s not actually buying one, haha.(In the past, he even planned out specs for the new Cayenne<\/a>.)<\/span><\/p>\n

Since the new 911 (992) was announced last year, he\u2019s been devouring YouTube and automotive media test drive reviews<\/strong>, and chatting with his car-loving brother on the phone, debating “this and that about the 992<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

So recently, he sent me the specs he came up with on the car configurator, saying, “If I were to buy the new 911, this would be it!<\/strong>” Looks like he really did it\u2026 haha.<\/p>\n

With that, I thought I\u2019d share the specs my husband put together for the new 911.<\/p>\n

New 911 Carrera S<\/h3>\n

Currently, the new 911 lineup offers four models: \u201cCarrera S,\u201d \u201cCarrera S Cabriolet,\u201d \u201cCarrera 4S,\u201d and \u201cCarrera 4S Cabriolet.\u201d<\/strong> Among them, my husband chose the 911 Carrera S, and here are the options and specs he selected:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Wow, the 911 really is expensive\u2026 20 million yen for a brand-new car. Suddenly the Panamera feels like a real bargain. When I told my husband, “That\u2019s a bit too pricey~<\/strong>,” he said:<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, but even so, I worked hard to keep the options under 3 million yen.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

By the way, here\u2019s why he chose these specs:<\/p>\n

– He aimed for specs suitable for commuting and shopping, but also for weekend winding road drives and long-distance touring. He basically thought from the perspective of someone who just loves driving.
\n– From past experience, he only picked options he thought would be truly useful.
\n– The interior and exterior colors are personal preference, but he chose interior materials he personally feels “should be included in a car costing nearly 20 million yen total<\/strong>.”
\n– Since only the S and 4S are currently available, he calculated with the S, but if a base model were available, he\u2019d pick that and use the saved money to add PCCB or PDCC.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Makes sense.<\/p>\n

Sporty Colors<\/h3>\n

The other day, I borrowed a yellow Cayman S as a loaner<\/a>, and it was so beautiful that I thought again, “Porsche really suits bold, sporty colors.<\/strong>” So if it were me, I\u2019d go for bright red, or<\/p>\n

Miami Blue, which reminds me of the 718, would also be nice.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I used to think, “I\u2019m not confident in my driving, so four-wheel drive would definitely be better<\/strong>,” but considering the performance of modern 911s, two-wheel drive is probably more than enough.<\/p>\n

Recently, I\u2019ve been getting comments on this blog like “I just reserved a 992!<\/strong>,” so soon we\u2019ll start seeing 992s driving around town.
