Talking About Car Life as a Couple<\/h3>\n

Since the beginning of this year, we\u2019ve been using the audio SNS app Clubhouse to talk about our family\u2019s car life as a couple. Every Saturday at 10 p.m. for about an hour, we held talks about \u201cThis Week\u2019s Car Life\u201d and \u201cBlog Afterwords\u201d<\/strong>. However, at that time, Clubhouse wasn\u2019t available on Android, so only iPhone users could listen in.<\/p>\n

Later, Twitter added a feature called \u201cSpaces\u201d<\/strong> that allows real-time audio conversations, so we now stream weekly on Spaces.<\/a><\/p>\n

Despite the late hour of 10 p.m. on Saturdays<\/strong>, about 30 to 40 people tune in each time, and we\u2019re truly grateful for that.<\/p>\n

\"Porsche<\/p>\n

Some have asked, \u201cDo you prepare and rehearse before each session?\u201d but we hardly do any prep\u2014just a quick sync before starting, like \u201cThis week, I got to test drive \u25cb\u25cb, so let\u2019s talk about that?\u201d<\/strong> between us.<\/p>\n

Because of that, there are days when I think, \u201cMaybe we\u2019ll only have about 30 minutes of content today\u2026\u201d<\/strong> but once we start, the conversation flows endlessly, and the hour flies by every time.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve held about 25 sessions so far, and lately, I even feel like one hour isn\u2019t enough to cover everything<\/strong> (laughs).<\/p>\n

So today, I want to share what we\u2019ve felt from hosting audio SNS sessions as a couple.<\/p>\n

The Fun of Audio SNS<\/h3>\n

Audio SNS is genuinely fun. I find it fascinating how conversations naturally expand topics<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Usually, I run a blog where I communicate through writing<\/strong>. Writing has the power to move people\u2019s hearts and lets us organize our thoughts calmly and clearly, but it\u2019s harder to convey immediacy and a sense of presence.<\/p>\n

With audio SNS, since we can talk in real time, sometimes my husband will say, \u201cThat reminds me of something\u2026\u201d<\/strong> and share something completely new to me, or I\u2019ll realize \u201cOh, that\u2019s how he\u2019s been thinking about it.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

This kind of dynamic doesn\u2019t happen in blogging, which makes it really interesting.<\/p>\n

Also, we\u2019ve had a few of my husband\u2019s car friends join as speakers to talk about their beloved cars, and having a three-way conversation was refreshing and fun.<\/p>\n

We hope to continue inviting guest speakers and have three-person chats in the future.<\/p>\n

Another fun aspect is that you can see exactly who\u2019s listening<\/strong>. The listeners\u2019 Twitter IDs and icons appear in real time, so unlike a blog broadcast to an anonymous mass audience, it feels great to see faces and builds a sense of closeness.<\/p>\n

Once, Kawakubo-san from Roperaio dropped in to listen, and we got super excited, thinking, \u201cWow, a celebrity just joined!\u201d<\/strong> (laughs).<\/p>\n

One of the best things about audio SNS is that it lets us convey the couple\u2019s vibe<\/strong>… even though we\u2019re just chatting away for an hour (laughs).<\/p>\n

At first, I wondered, \u201cIs it really okay to just talk as a couple?\u201d but many listeners say they enjoy hearing behind-the-scenes, everyday couple conversations that feel like the backstage of the blog<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Also, it\u2019s fun that we can talk about things we can\u2019t write about in the blog<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In a recent Space, my husband shared his views on the current Porsche used car market<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cTopics like when to buy, price increases, and decreases can be sensitive, so it\u2019s easier to talk about them in an audio SNS where people can just listen casually.\u201d<\/p>\n

Indeed, since blogs remain as text, some topics feel tricky to cover, but with audio, we can share off-the-record stories and speak quite frankly, which is enjoyable.<\/p>\n

The Future of Spaces<\/h3>\n

We hope to keep improving and making our audio SNS broadcasts more enjoyable.<\/p>\n

Recently, someone tweeted, \u201cI\u2019d love it if you inserted car engine sounds from your YouTube videos as interludes,\u201d<\/strong> and I agree\u2014that would add a cool radio show vibe.<\/p>\n
