Although the Boxster and Panamera in the parking lot were covered with snow, thankfully there was no sign of ice.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10009\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1491-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10010\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1492-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For a while, we enjoyed a smooth drive while admiring the beautiful Mount Fuji.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10012\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1373-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10011\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1379-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>This was the first time I had ever seen Mount Fuji so clear and beautiful.<\/strong> Despite the heavy snow, we got to see this stunning view and the chain restrictions were lifted\u2014so all\u2019s well that ends well <span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(even though the main event wasn\u2019t over yet, lol)<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>After about 30 minutes, we arrived at Fuji Speedway.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10013\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1380-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(We initially went to the West Gate by mistake.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>There was still quite a bit of snow, so I wondered if it would be okay\u2026 but when we got there, the 911DAYS track day registration was already underway, and many Porsches were preparing.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10016\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1493-1-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10017\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1495-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10015\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1494-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Also, on this day, the SuperCar Club Japan was holding the <strong>ALL Japan Supercar Meeting 6th<\/strong>, so the parking lot was lined with prestigious sports cars like Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Aston Martins.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10018\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1497-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Later, we were able to meet WRP President Mr. Suga and his wife safely. While chatting, he said, <strong>\u201cIt\u2019s the first time we\u2019ve had snow at this time of year, but thankfully it cleared up.\u201d<\/strong> My husband then started preparing for the track day.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10020\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1496-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>However, there was still snow on the course, so we couldn\u2019t help but feel a bit anxious about whether driving would really be possible\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10021\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1386-800x600.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At 10:30 a.m., the briefing began. Since it was my first time participating <span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(or rather, just observing)<\/span>, I had no idea there would be a briefing before the track day.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10022\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1414-800x600.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The briefing covered explanations of flags like the red flag and yellow flag, an introduction to the course, and a lecture on circuit driving etiquette from a driver who had won the Carrera Cup. It was also announced that <strong>due to snow, the track day schedule would be delayed by one hour.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">One hour delay\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">So the start planned for noon would now be at 1 p.m. I wondered what my two daughters would do during the wait\u2026<\/p>\n<p>At that moment, I realized I had <strong>completely forgotten to buy lunch at the convenience store<\/strong>, even though President Suga had kindly advised me to bring lunch from a convenience store <span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(I was only thinking about the chain restrictions)<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>So we went to the restaurant, but everyone had the same idea, and there was a <strong>long line stretching outside the entrance.<\/strong> We reluctantly settled for CalorieMate and snacks sold at the shop as lunch.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10023\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1425-800x600.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If it had been just adults, we could have walked over to the grandstand side to check out food stalls, but moving around with kids and a stroller was a hassle. I firmly vowed, <strong>\u201cNext time, I\u2019ll definitely buy lunch at the convenience store.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Still, the kids were delighted, treating it like a snack party, so all was well, haha.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10025\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1498-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">Boxster GTS on Track!<\/h3>\n<p>For the first session, it was allowed for passengers to ride in the front seat for the first few laps. President Suga\u2019s wife kindly said, <strong>\u201cI\u2019ll watch your kids, so please, go ahead and ride along.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I was thrilled and said, <strong>\u201cYay! I\u2019d love to!\u201d<\/strong> but then, <strong>our 2-year-old daughter suddenly said she wanted to ride too,<\/strong> so she made her circuit debut instead.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10033\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1428-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I wondered, <strong>\u201cIs this really okay?\u201d<\/strong> but put her in the passenger seat, and my husband waited at the designated spot near the course. Since this was a 911DAYS session, a lineup of classic and modern Porsches was gathered.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10049\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1504-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10027\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1470-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10026\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1499-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It was breathtaking\u2026 The shot of Mount Fuji with the GT3 was absolutely stunning.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10028\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_0235-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Before long, just before 1 p.m., the Boxster GTS with our daughter on board started its run.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10029\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1472-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>However, after just one lap, the Boxster GTS immediately returned to the pits.<\/p>\n<p>I wondered if something had happened, and when I asked, my husband said, <strong>\u201cOur daughter fell fast asleep just before the circuit run and wouldn\u2019t wake up no matter what, so we decided it was best to stop early.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Her circuit debut ended up being a <strong>full-on nap<\/strong>, haha.<\/p>\n<p>What a waste of a great opportunity\u2026 I should have forced myself to ride instead.<\/p>\n<p>Cheering up, I watched the Porsche track runs from the second floor. Seeing Porsches, which usually only use a fraction of their power, running full throttle was incredibly cool. The engine sounds, brakes, and tires created an intense atmosphere, and since everyone drove like true gentlemen, I felt safe and enjoyed watching the whole time.<\/p>\n<p>When my husband returned after the first run, he was visibly excited.<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">\u201cWow, that was so much fun! Seriously, it was amazing! The <strong>new tires made all the difference.<\/strong> The Boxster grips so well in corners, making it super easy to drive. And with Mount Fuji perfectly in view, it felt incredible!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hearing that made me want to drive a little too. Meanwhile, President Suga was busy adjusting tire pressures, checking brakes, and tightening wheels on each car.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10034\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1501-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There were quite a few first-time circuit participants, but <strong>with this kind of support, even beginners can enjoy track driving with confidence.<\/strong> My husband fully trusts <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wrp930.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WRP<\/a>, saying,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">\u201cThey\u2019ve supported me since I bought my air-cooled Porsche. Before delivery, they even test-drove my 964 to check the feel and any unusual noises, then did maintenance and carefully explained and suggested any additional repairs needed. Most used car dealers I\u2019ve dealt with only do basic visual checks or minimal maintenance to pass inspections, but WRP is different. They really understand car enthusiasts and provide thorough, honest support.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On delivery day, they even brought Porsche keychains and <strong>famous sweets from Nagoya carefully chosen by Mrs. Suga<\/strong>, which made the kids <span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(and me the most!)<\/span> jump for joy. Such thoughtful gestures are truly heartwarming.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">Meeting Yamaken for the First Time<\/h3>\n<p>The track day itself was a blast, but <strong>the long wait between the first and second runs was a bit of a challenge.<\/strong> I could manage alone, but the kids quickly got bored and started fussing, which was a bit tough.<\/p>\n<p>During the wait, there was a supercar parade run, so I took some photos from above, but otherwise had nothing to do and just zoned out for about two hours\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Feeling extremely bored, I tweeted, \u201c<strong>So bored I could die\u2026<\/strong>\u201d and soon found out that<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/minkara.carview.co.jp\/group\/hoclub\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10044\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/\u30b9\u30af\u30ea\u30fc\u30f3\u30b7\u30e7\u30c3\u30c8-2019-03-26-18.46.24.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"595\" height=\"98\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/minkara.carview.co.jp\/group\/hoclub\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Heisei Owners Club (HOC)<\/a> president Yamaken was nearby. The Heisei Owners Club (HOC) is a community for car-loving owners born in the Heisei era, founded by Yamaken to show that <strong>young people still love cars despite the \u201ccar-decline\u201d narrative.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/yamaken_hoc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yamaken<\/a> is also a member of the \u201c<strong>Yusaku Maezawa Supercar Project<\/strong>\u201d started by ZOZOTOWN CEO Maezawa. We had connected a little via Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>Hoping to meet him, I wandered around the parking lot where the supercars were parked and spotted a Ferrari I recognized from Twitter!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10035\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1502-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I thought, <strong>\u201cCould this be it? Then one of the people standing here must be Yamaken\u2026 (*_*)\u201d<\/strong> I hesitated, but then a young man approached me.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cAre you Mina? I\u2019m Yamaken!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Yamaken was as charming as I\u2019d heard (lol), and while I was taking photos of the Ferrari, he kindly entertained the kids. It was clear he has a strong ability to connect with people and high personal charisma.<\/p>\n<p>After parting ways with Yamaken, my husband\u2019s second run started. This time, we moved to a hill near the final corner to watch, which turned out to be a great hidden spot.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10038\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_0448-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10036\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_0557-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10037\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_0598-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I thought I should have watched from here from the start. While letting the girls play on the grass, I turned into a full-on camera enthusiast, snapping away until the second run ended quickly.<\/p>\n<p>As for the results\u2026 my husband finished 8th, and was the top driver in the WRP group.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10039\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1440-800x599.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"599\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Among the top finishers were cars like the GT3RS, GT3, 911 Turbo, and Cayman GT4, so the Boxster GTS did remarkably well. My husband said,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">\u201cPracticing every night on PlayStation really paid off. It was like \u2018Real Gran Turismo,\u2019 lol. But in reality, the G-forces almost lifted me off the seat, and since it was a manual, if I had a racing seat and PDK, I might have gone even faster. I\u2019m aiming even higher!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I wonder what exactly he\u2019s aiming for, haha.<\/p>\n<p>All in all, the track day ended safely without injuries, and it was a very valuable experience. The circuit felt like <strong>an adult Disneyland<\/strong>\u2026 Seeing serious adults, usually burdened with big responsibilities, smiling like kids made me feel so happy and enriched.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10051\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_0346-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>President Suga encouraged me, saying, <strong>\u201cNext year, you should definitely drive too!\u201d<\/strong> but my husband quickly replied,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">\u201cNo way, she needs to practice on PlayStation first!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s pretty tough on me in situations like this, haha.<\/p>\n<p>Our 5- and 2-year-old daughters experienced the circuit for the first time, but I wonder how they felt about it. They probably won\u2019t remember much when they grow up, though (laughs).<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, a big thank you to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wrp930.com\/profile\/\">WRP<\/a> President Suga, his wife, and everyone involved!
