Others include GT steering wheel, seat heaters, and power side mirrors.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_I_Chose_These_Options\"><\/span>Why I Chose These Options<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>I bought it used, but at the time I was considering purchase, Miami Blue was no longer available new, so I prioritized the color. Initially, I searched for a certified pre-owned, but no Miami Blue Cayman appeared, so I bought from a regular dealer.<\/p>\n<p>Though it wasn\u2019t certified pre-owned, I felt reassured by the dealer\u2019s reviews, the relatively new model year, Porsche\u2019s reputation for reliability, and the Porsche Center\u2019s maintenance records.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Impressions_of_Porsche_Performance_After_Ownership\"><\/span>4) Impressions of Porsche Performance After Ownership<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%E2%91%A0_Engine_Engine_Sound\"><\/span>\u2460 Engine \/ Engine Sound<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The engine sound when starting up really lifts your spirits. The sound when shifting up\/down in Sport Plus mode is very sports car-like, with a deep bass that makes me careful when driving through residential areas at night. The power is more than enough for everyday driving.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%E2%91%A1_Evaluation_of_the_PDK\"><\/span>\u2461 Evaluation of the PDK<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The transmission is PDK, but it drives like a regular car with no hesitation in gear changes.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%E2%91%A2_Ride_Comfort_and_Feel\"><\/span>\u2462 Ride Comfort and Feel<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Honestly, the ride comfort isn\u2019t great.<\/strong> The Golf is quieter, has lighter steering, and is more comfortable. But it\u2019s not unbearable; it\u2019s a ride that makes you want to drive faster and becomes addictive.<\/p>\n<p>Now, I even find cars that are too quiet somewhat unsatisfying.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s more stable above 100 km\/h. I haven\u2019t driven the standard 18-inch wheels for comparison, but I think the 20-inch wheels have a big impact.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%E2%91%A3_Handling_Brakes\"><\/span>\u2463 Handling \/ Brakes<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The steering has a nice weight and turns exactly as much as you steer. After driving the Cayman, the Golf feels too light and unsettling.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The brakes work very well and also squeak quite a bit.<\/strong> But I knew about the brake squeal beforehand, so it doesn\u2019t bother me.<\/p>\n<p>The brake pedal responds exactly to how hard you press it, so after driving the Cayman, the Golf\u2019s brakes feel too light and strange. To be clear, the Golf is still a great car\u2014very capable, rigid, and safe.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%E2%91%A4_Fuel_Economy_Maintenance_Repairs\"><\/span>\u2464 Fuel Economy \/ Maintenance \/ Repairs<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Fuel economy is about 9\u201310 km\/l in city driving and 12\u201314 km\/l on long highway trips<\/strong> (meter reading), so it\u2019s surprisingly good in normal mode. But in Sport or Sport Plus mode, the gas disappears quickly (laughs).<\/p>\n<p>Regarding inspections, there was almost no time left before the next inspection when I took delivery, so it was due immediately (sigh). <strong>I had it done at the Porsche Center, and it cost about 150,000 yen.<\/strong> I also paid an additional 100,000 yen for extended warranty.<\/p>\n<p>The car has no issues and runs well. Tires certified by Porsche can be found online at reasonable prices, so I don\u2019t think maintenance costs run into the millions.<\/p>\n<p>However, parts are more expensive than for domestic cars, so I expect parts replacement could get costly eventually.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%E2%91%A5_Family_and_Others_Reactions\"><\/span>\u2465 Family and Others\u2019 Reactions<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>People say Miami Blue looks even better in person than in photos. It also lifts my spirits. When I tell people I bought a Porsche, they say, \u201cReally!? Why?\u201d (laughs)<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%E2%91%A6_Favorite_Points\"><\/span>\u2466 Favorite Points<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>I love the beautiful overall shape and the excitement I feel when driving.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-24051\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/IMG_2421.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche Cayman (718)\" width=\"1200\" height=\"1010\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_Options_I_Would_Definitely_Choose_or_Have_Chosen_When_Buying_a_Porsche\"><\/span>5) Options I Would Definitely Choose (or Have Chosen) When Buying a Porsche<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>\u30fbThe Sport Chrono Package definitely makes driving more fun.<br \/>\n\u30fbSince the wheels are upgraded to larger optional sizes, I want PASM too (road noise is louder).<br \/>\n\u30fbIf budget allows, I want to customize the interior as well.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"6_Concerns\"><\/span>6) Concerns<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>I feel the idling stop system doesn\u2019t work well. <strong>It sometimes stops the engine before the car fully stops when decelerating<\/strong> <span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">(the blog editor also experienced this with a 970 Panamera)<\/span>, and once it stalled without restarting. I keep the idling stop off all the time.<\/p>\n<p>Also, as I\u2019ve driven it more, I\u2019ve become interested in the 911. Since I want an open-top, next I\u2019d like to get a 911 Cabriolet. Not sure when though\u2026<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"7_Overall_Impression\"><\/span>7) Overall Impression<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>It\u2019s contradictory, but \u201c<strong>not something you really need, but I\u2019m glad I bought it<\/strong>.\u201d Even for tedious errands, it makes me think, \u201cLet\u2019s drive there!\u201d <\/p>\n<p>So if you\u2019re interested in a Porsche, I recommend just buying one. Even if it turns out \u201cnot what you expected,\u201d you can sell it easily.
