A New Challenge for Porsche Motorsport<\/h3>\n

Porsche Japan revealed today, April 19th, the full details of a new challenge from Porsche Motorsport. The announcement is:<\/p>\n

\u201cGT Sport Porsche Esports Racing Japan (PERJ)<\/strong>\u201d Season 1 Confirmed<\/p>\n

\u201cGT Sport Porsche Esports Racing Japan\u201d is the first of its kind in Japan and an official esports race held under the Porsche Motorsport umbrella<\/strong>. This was made possible through collaboration with the PlayStation 4 (PS4) game Gran Turismo SPORT<\/strong>. The 2019 \u201cSeason 1\u201d consists of three online competitions<\/strong> and one final race held as a real event using simulators<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Top finishers will be awarded at Porsche Japan Motorsport\u2019s annual awards ceremony, the Night of Champions Japan 2019<\/strong>, held in Tokyo at the end of the year.<\/p>\n

Gran Turismo SPORT<\/h3>\n

By the way, my husband often races on PS4\u2019s Gran Turismo SPORT<\/strong>, and here\u2019s his impression of the game:<\/p>\n

\u2460 Handling and Feel\u2026 It\u2019s refined, easy to control, and smooth to drive. However, it\u2019s too smooth<\/strong>. It lacks the real car\u2019s vibrations and roughness. Braking feels more like an ON\/OFF switch, making the subtle adjustments you can do in a real Porsche difficult.
\n\u2461 Graphics\u2026 Extremely beautiful<\/strong>, by far the best compared to other games.
\n\u2462 Engine Sounds\u2026 Some cars sound close to the real thing, but overall the sounds feel a bit light.
\n\u2463 Gameplay\u2026 The photo mode and replay features are rich and very realistic and beautiful. There are many users, and online races are held frequently, making it enjoyable.<\/strong> However, playing solo is less fun because the AI opponents are too slow.
\n\u2464 Others\u2026 You can drive in VR. Japanese circuits are plentiful, including Suzuka, Fuji, and Tsukuba. But there are very few Porsches!!<\/p>\n

    After an upcoming update to PS4 Gran Turismo, an entry flyer will appear in Sports Mode. At this stage, you cannot enter the race yet, but free practice on the scheduled courses will be possible.<\/p>\n

    On Sunday, April 28, for Round 1, entry will open 15 minutes before the race start time within Gran Turismo SPORT\u2019s \u201cSports Mode\u201d<\/strong>. The race starts at 20:00 and ends at 21:00.<\/p>\n

    \u201cI can\u2019t make the dates this time, but if they keep doing this regularly, I\u2019d like to join. There hasn\u2019t been a Porsche-only race before, so I never really got motivated, but this makes me want to compete. Well, there are so many insanely skilled players that I probably wouldn\u2019t stand a chance, but now that I have a goal, I\u2019ll practice.\u201d<\/p>\n

    As for me, I\u2019m thinking of giving it a try somewhere too (though I\u2019ll probably be hopeless lol)<\/span>.<\/p>\n
