But there are two main reasons we decided to let it go.<\/p>\n<p>First, due to the impact of COVID-19, my husband started working from home more, drastically reducing his commuting frequency. Just a few months after buying the Note, the state of emergency was declared, and his company switched almost entirely to remote work.<\/p>\n<p>Although he occasionally went to the office after the emergency was lifted, the prolonged pandemic meant he\u2019s been commuting even less this year, so the Note has hardly been used lately.<\/p>\n<p>He still drove it for quick local errands or when visiting shops with tight parking, but recently we often said, &#8220;<strong>The Note hardly gets used at all\u2014it feels like such a waste<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The second reason is that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/i-want-mt-car-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">I bought my own manual transmission car<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"> (though it hasn\u2019t been delivered yet)<\/span>. My new car can seat five and is easy to maneuver, overlapping somewhat with the Note\u2019s role.<\/p>\n<p>However, <strong>since I ordered it new, the recent semiconductor shortage means production and delivery timing are completely uncertain,<\/strong> so even after selling the Note, it might be a while before my car arrives\u2014but that\u2019s just how it is.<\/p>\n<p>At first, I was looking for a used car, but then developed a strange desire to &#8220;<strong>add decals<\/strong>,&#8221; and also thought &#8220;<strong>I don\u2019t really need a navigation system as long as the screen supports CarPlay<\/strong>.&#8221; While researching, I found that &#8220;<strong>the price difference between new and used wasn\u2019t that big<\/strong>,&#8221; so I decided to buy new.<\/p>\n<p>If I had gone used, it would probably have been delivered by now, but there\u2019s nothing I can do. I\u2019ll wait patiently.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Selling_via_the_Private_Sale_Mediation_Service_%E2%80%9CKababa%E2%80%9D\"><\/span>Selling via the Private Sale Mediation Service &#8220;Kababa&#8221;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Regarding selling the Nissan Note e-POWER NISMO S, we considered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/sell-bmw320i\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">simultaneous trade-in appraisals like when we sold our BMW 320i<\/a>, but this time my husband chose to sell through a private sale mediation service called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.car-byebuy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kababa<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He heard from an acquaintance who recently sold their car via Kababa and thought, &#8220;<strong>This looks like a great service<\/strong>.&#8221; According to him,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">When buying and selling used cars, <strong>dealers take a middle margin, so sellers get less and buyers pay more.<\/strong> Especially with major used car dealers, the costs of maintaining stores, stockyards, staff, and excessive advertising are staggering. <strong>With Kababa, sellers basically receive the full asking price.<\/strong> Buyers only pay a contract fee (30,000 yen) plus optional delivery-related costs, making it cheaper than buying from a dealer. So, while I\u2019m selling the Note this time, I think this system is especially beneficial for expensive cars like Porsches\u2014for both sellers and buyers.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"On_the_Day_Interview_and_Appraisal\"><\/span>On the Day: Interview and Appraisal<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>A few days later, my husband went out to meet the Kababa representative at the Royu Driveway observatory for a car interview.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-23200\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/IMG_4354-1280x720.jpg\" alt=\"Note NISMO S\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-23201\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/IMG_4356-1280x720.jpg\" alt=\"Note NISMO S\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He thought it would just be &#8220;<strong>taking photos at the observatory and checking the car\u2019s condition<\/strong>,&#8221; but it turned out to be a thorough interview lasting nearly two hours, including video footage of the car in motion, which surprised him.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-23198\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/IMG_4182-1280x960.jpg\" alt=\"Kababa interview scene\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>About the interview, my husband said,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">I thought it would just be photos and about 30 minutes, but they spent 1.5 to 2 hours carefully interviewing and inspecting the car. <strong>They started with an owner interview, checked the car\u2019s condition, took interior and exterior photos, and even filmed it while driving.<\/strong> And they didn\u2019t charge any interview fees\u2014that\u2019s amazing.<\/p>\n<p>By the way, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.car-byebuy.com\/Trade\/Cars\/Details\/520\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">our Note e-POWER NISMO S is already listed on Kababa\u2019s site<\/a>.
