Should I add the <strong>front lift option<\/strong>? It\u2019s expensive, so I\u2019m thinking of skipping it and spending on other options instead, but is it really tough to go without it?<\/p>\n<p>That was the question.<\/p>\n<p>The GT3\u2019s front lift refers to the optional <strong>Front Axle Lift System<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Because the GT3 sits low, there\u2019s a risk of scraping the underside even on small bumps. But with the <strong>Front Axle Lift System<\/strong> option, the new 911 GT3 raises the front end by 40mm at speeds up to 35 km\/h <span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">(30mm on the 991 model)<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>This greatly reduces the risk of the car\u2019s body hitting curbs or steep inclines.<\/p>\n<p>Also, starting with the new 911 GT3, it includes a smart lift feature that automatically raises the front at registered locations. However, checking Porsche\u2019s website, this option alone costs about 520,000 yen.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s pricey\u2026\uff08*_*\uff09<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Should_You_Get_the_Front_Axle_Lift_System\"><\/span>Should You Get the Front Axle Lift System?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>I asked my husband if we should get this Front Axle Lift System, and he said,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">You need it. Absolutely need it! If you\u2019re even slightly considering daily driving, it\u2019s a must-have. If you\u2019re only planning to \u201cdrive on the track,\u201d maybe you don\u2019t need it, but even then, think about refueling at gas stations\u2014it\u2019s better to have it.<br \/>\nWithout the front lift, you\u2019ll definitely scrape on even small bumps.<br \/>\nNot just convenience stores or gas stations, but even the curb when leaving our dealer\u2019s lot\u2014our GT3 without the lift scrapes there. <span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">(Though apparently, replacing the front lip isn\u2019t too expensive.)<\/span><br \/>\nAlso, while the Front Axle Lift System option is costly, <strong>it makes the car easier to sell later compared to one without it.<\/strong><br \/>\nPeople buying a GT3 worry about scraping underneath, so a GT3 without the lift option affects resale value. Is it noticeably better than not having it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">Yeah, it\u2019s totally different. For daily use, it\u2019s mostly fine. If you go slowly over bumps at convenience stores or gas stations, it\u2019s okay. You have to be careful in parking garages or on steep slopes, but unless it\u2019s a really steep hill, it\u2019s fine. Before buying, I thought I\u2019d scrape a lot more, but <strong>actually owning it, I realized it\u2019s surprisingly manageable.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By the way, my husband says \u201cGT4 is nice too,\u201d but he won\u2019t buy one, partly because <strong>the GT4 doesn\u2019t offer the Front Axle Lift System option.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s especially concerned about rough roads or big bumps on long-distance tours.<\/p>\n<p>Makes sense\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Porsche options are expensive, so it\u2019s often tough to decide whether to get them or not.
