The Feeling of a Porsche Partner<\/h3>\n

A while after our 911 Cabriolet (992) was delivered, my husband said, <\/p>\n

The 992 is just amazing\u2026! I might not even need the GT3 or Boxster anymore. If I had to keep just one car regardless of price increases or value, it would definitely be the 992.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Porsche<\/p>\n

Several months have passed since then, and while my husband drives all our cars regularly, recently he\u2019s been saying things like this: <\/p>\n

Lately, I\u2019ve come full circle and started thinking, “Actually, the 964 (air-cooled Porsche 911) and the Boxster (981 Boxster GTS) are incredibly fun.<\/strong>” The 964 and Boxster really feel like true partners.
\nThe 992 is a high-performance, fantastic car, but it\u2019s so perfect it feels almost cyborg-like. It might lack a bit of that living, breathing feeling\u2026
\nIt\u2019s insanely fast on the track, and even stable in the rain on the circuit<\/a>. It\u2019s stress-free on public roads, handles mountain passes beautifully, and has flawless handling\u2014perfect in every situation. Performance-wise, it\u2019s still outstanding.
\nBut on the other hand, I feel the sense of it being a \u201cpartner\u201d is a bit weaker compared to other Porsches.
\nAs for the GT3 Touring, it\u2019s definitely super high-performance, but since it\u2019s a manual, it gives off an aura and intimidation of “you can\u2019t just master it easily.<\/strong>” So in that sense, it feels less like a \u201cpartner\u201d and more like a \u201csteed\u201d that I haven\u2019t fully tamed yet, which gives it a living, breathing vibe.
\nThat said, every time I drive the 992, I\u2019m amazed and think, \u2018This car is incredible!\u2019 When it comes to practical excellence in any situation, regardless of asset value, it\u2019s got to be the 992.<\/p>\n

I see\u2026 Indeed, the 992 is a wonderful car, but maybe it\u2019s so high-performing that there\u2019s little room for human involvement.<\/p>\n

\"Porsche<\/p>\n

My husband continued, <\/p>\n

With the 964, you can hear the oil trickling and really feel the engine working\u2014it has a strong living, breathing presence.<\/strong>
\nThe 981 Boxster GTS has an amazing engine sound, and while its handling is a bit softer than the 992, it\u2019s incredibly satisfying when you smoothly flow through the curves of the Royu Driveway.
\nThe sound from low speeds is wonderful, the suspension is supple, and since mine is a manual, I can control it myself, which makes driving it incredibly joyful.<\/p>\n

Cars are deep. You can\u2019t understand them from just one test drive, and the feel of a car changes from right after delivery to several months later.<\/strong>
\nAlso, your own senses change over time.
\nThanks to friends letting me test drive many cars, every time I drive something new, I get to reaffirm “what kind of car suits me best.<\/strong>” Maybe that\u2019s why my feelings toward my own cars keep evolving.<\/p>\n

Which Porsche to Keep?<\/h3>\n

We currently have six cars at home,<\/a> but my husband is thinking about gradually reducing the number. We\u2019ve added many attractive cars over time, but six is just too many to manage properly, so he plans to narrow it down to a number he can take good care of (regularly driving and maintaining).<\/strong><\/p>\n

That said, deciding what to keep and what to part with isn\u2019t something that can be done immediately\u2014it\u2019s also a matter of timing. With that in mind, my husband says, “I\u2019ll definitely keep the 981. Also, we need the Cayenne for the five of us.<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Our car life might become a bit simpler from now on.
