Even on gentle slopes where auto-hold doesn\u2019t kick in, I can start smoothly without panicking.<\/p>\n<p>So far, I\u2019ve been to Harborland in Kobe, driven on the Hanshin Expressway, and even managed to park at a nearby convenience store and a supermarket with a tricky parking lot.<\/p>\n<p>That said, I wouldn\u2019t say I\u2019m great at driving a manual yet \u2014 I\u2019m just at the level of <strong>\u201cI can at least drive it for now.\u201d<\/strong> So if I tried to drive a GT3 or Boxster right now, <strong>I\u2019d probably mess up and end up with a deep emotional scar<\/strong> \u2014 that much is obvious\u2026 lol.<\/p>\n<p>If I were to compare it to Dragon Quest, I want to level up by defeating more enemies before challenging the boss.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">Let\u2019s Go See the Night View on Royu<\/h3>\n<p>One evening, after putting the kids to bed early, I found myself with a little free time, so I decided to take a trip to Royu to see the night view. Last time I tried, the \u201cmountain god\u201d blocked the view, but <strong>lately I feel like I\u2019m graduating from being a rain goddess,<\/strong> so I had a good feeling that \u201cit should be fine to go see it tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"zil24JvBug\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/naight-view-royu-driveway\/\">911\u306b\u4e57\u3063\u3066\u3001\u82a6\u6709\u30c9\u30e9\u30a4\u30d6\u30a6\u30a7\u30a4\u306e\u591c\u666f\u3092\u898b\u306b\u884c\u3063\u3066\u304d\u305f\u3002<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/naight-view-royu-driveway\/embed\/#?secret=zil24JvBug\" data-secret=\"zil24JvBug\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" title=\"&#8220;911\u306b\u4e57\u3063\u3066\u3001\u82a6\u6709\u30c9\u30e9\u30a4\u30d6\u30a6\u30a7\u30a4\u306e\u591c\u666f\u3092\u898b\u306b\u884c\u3063\u3066\u304d\u305f\u3002&#8221; &#8212; \u30dd\u30eb\u30b7\u30a7\u304c\u308f\u304c\u5bb6\u306b\u3084\u3063\u3066\u304d\u305f - \u30aa\u30fc\u30ca\u30fc\u30d6\u30ed\u30b0\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Actually, I\u2019ve been lucky with the weather more often recently. Thinking about it, <strong>since I bought the BMW 320i myself, both my touring trips and the delivery day have been blessed with clear skies.<\/strong> Maybe the mountain god of touring finally approved of me getting an MT car\u2026 but that\u2019s probably not true, lol.<\/p>\n<p>To avoid catching a chill while going out at night, I dressed the kids in jackets and sent my husband a quick message saying, <strong>\u201cWe\u2019re heading to Royu to see the night view now,\u201d<\/strong> then hopped into the 320i.<\/p>\n<p>The route from home to Royu is <strong>perfect for practicing hill starts.<\/strong> There are many gentle slopes where auto-hold doesn\u2019t engage, so it was great practice to carefully engage the clutch and start without rolling back.<\/p>\n<p>By this time, there were hardly any cars around, and I smoothly arrived at the Royu Driveway toll gate.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11642\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2905-800x600.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Glancing at the thermometer near the toll gate, it read <strong>14 degrees Celsius.<\/strong> It didn\u2019t seem too cold, so I relaxed and drove at a comfortable pace.<\/p>\n<p>Since I was on Royu Driveway and driving an MT, it would have been fun to rev the engine and really push the car, but unfortunately, I don\u2019t have that skill yet, so I carefully drove while repeating <strong>2nd \u2192 3rd \u2192 4th \u2192 3rd \u2192 2nd<\/strong> gears.<\/p>\n<p>Also, <strong>Royu has quite a few cat\u2019s eyes (road reflectors).<\/strong> A friend who came to Royu for the first time in a Ferrari 488 Spider accidentally ran over one and damaged their tire, so I was extra careful to avoid them\u2026 but <strong>the more careful I was, the closer I seemed to get to the cat\u2019s eyes<\/strong> \u2014 funny how that works, right? (laughs)<\/p>\n<p>This 320i is a base model, not a sporty version, so honestly, <strong>it\u2019s not really the kind of car you\u2019d push hard on Royu.<\/strong> The ride is soft and comfortable, perfect for relaxed family drives. Still, even when taking curves on Royu, there was no big body roll like \u201cWhoa, steady now!\u201d \u2014 it felt safe and natural to drive.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">Higashi Rokko Observatory and My Car<\/h3>\n<p>When I arrived at the Higashi Rokko Observatory, a few cars were already parked. The night view itself was <em>pretty<\/em> nice, so I was happy.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11671\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2996-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11670\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2995-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11644\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2906-800x600.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Just then, I checked my phone and saw a message from my husband:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">\u201cHey, I was taking photos at Royu too!! I just got home. If I\u2019d seen your message earlier, we could\u2019ve met up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>No way!! Come to think of it, <strong>he was driving the GT3 Touring to work today and stopped by Royu on the way home.<\/strong> I guess we really are a matching couple (-_-) lol.<\/p>\n<p>We spent a little time enjoying the night view and wandering around the observatory, but it started to get chilly, so after about 10 minutes, I decided to leave. On the way back, I carefully drove again, repeating <strong>2nd \u2192 3rd \u2192 4th \u2192 3rd \u2192 2nd<\/strong> gears, but I was reminded once more how terrible I am at downshifting.<\/p>\n<p>If I slow down gently and downshift carefully, it\u2019s fine, but <strong>the moment I try to drive a bit more briskly, the shift shock hits hard.<\/strong> It would be so cool if I could do heel-and-toe downshifting in these moments. <strong>For now, I\u2019ll just keep practicing every day, aiming to master smooth heel-and-toe downshifts.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Back home, my husband showed me the photos he took of the GT3 Touring that day.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11645\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2919-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11646\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2920-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11647\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2921-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11648\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2922-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re incredibly beautiful\u2026 as expected, the \u03b17\u2162 really makes a difference. <strong>It\u2019s pretty tough to capture both night views and cars well with an iPhone.<\/strong> Next time, I want to go to Royu with my husband in the 320i and have him take photos of my car.
