{"id":37469,"date":"2019-06-17T06:00:55","date_gmt":"2019-06-16T21:00:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/?p=37469"},"modified":"2021-07-28T21:16:24","modified_gmt":"2021-07-28T12:16:24","slug":"bmw320i%e3%81%a7%e5%85%b5%e5%ba%ab%e7%9c%8c%e3%81%ae%e6%b3%a2%e8%b3%80%e3%81%b8%e3%83%84%e3%83%bc%e3%83%aa%e3%83%b3%e3%82%b0-%e7%a9%b4%e5%a0%b4%e6%92%ae%e5%bd%b1%e3%82%b9%e3%83%9d%e3%83%83%e3%83%88","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/en\/entry\/bmw320i%e3%81%a7%e5%85%b5%e5%ba%ab%e7%9c%8c%e3%81%ae%e6%b3%a2%e8%b3%80%e3%81%b8%e3%83%84%e3%83%bc%e3%83%aa%e3%83%b3%e3%82%b0-%e7%a9%b4%e5%a0%b4%e6%92%ae%e5%bd%b1%e3%82%b9%e3%83%9d%e3%83%83%e3%83%88\/","title":{"rendered":"Touring to My Favorite Photo Spot in the BMW"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"style3a\">Heading to Haga in the 320i<\/h3>\n<p>The other day, my family of four and I took a trip to Haga in Hyogo Prefecture in our BMW 320i. <strong>Haga is a rural town located in Shiso City, in the central-western part of Hyogo Prefecture.<\/strong> Many car and motorcycle enthusiasts in the Kansai area might already know it, as the roads and scenery there are truly beautiful.<\/p>\n<p>At our house, <strong>whenever we get a new car, the first place we go is always Haga.<\/strong> That\u2019s because not only are the roads beautiful, but there\u2019s also <strong>a perfect hidden gem of a spot to take stunning photos of our beloved car.<\/strong> This photo spot has been a secret favorite of my husband\u2019s for about 25 years.<\/p>\n<p>So this time, we decided to head to Haga in the freshly delivered 320i, and since it was a special occasion, I let my husband drive. <strong>Later on, as usual, he\u2019ll write a report on how he felt about driving it.<\/strong> <span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(Since I drive it every day, he only got a quick spin on delivery day.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2026I guess I\u2019ve been relying on my husband\u2019s test drive reports a bit too much lately\u2026 I should work harder to write my own reports too (sweat).<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">Putting My Manual Transmission Practice to the Test!<\/h3>\n<p>I started off driving. \u201c<strong>I\u2019m going to show off the progress I\u2019ve made in the 10 days since delivery!<\/strong>\u201d I thought, and eagerly began driving. My husband said, \u201c<strong>You can start off normally now!<\/strong>\u201d but somehow, having him sitting next to me felt like having an instructor in the passenger seat. I ended up stalling in places I normally wouldn\u2019t and panicked during hill starts (-_-).<\/p>\n<p>My husband teased me,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">\u201cMina, you\u2019re the kind of person whose \u2018mental state\u2019 directly affects your \u2018driving skills,\u2019 huh? lol\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So I defended myself, saying, \u201c<strong>No way, I\u2019m usually better! It\u2019s just that having an instructor riding shotgun makes me nervous!<\/strong>\u201d and somehow pulled myself together to keep driving.<\/p>\n<p>Gradually, I got used to having the instructor in the passenger seat and regained my usual driving feel. Then, casually glancing at the sticker on the car ahead\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11697\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_0064-800x600.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-11710\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/\u30b9\u30af\u30ea\u30fc\u30f3\u30b7\u30e7\u30c3\u30c8-2019-06-03-10.53.23.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"256\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There it was\u2014a sticker that read \u201c<strong>MT Car: Beware of Rolling Back on Hills<\/strong>\u201d (\uff9f\u0434\uff9f)! I had briefly mentioned ordering this sticker on the blog before <span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(I got the wide version)<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11518\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2881-800x600.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Turns out, some people really do put this sticker on their cars! It was my first time seeing it in the wild.<\/p>\n<p>This sticker is surprisingly effective. As a following driver, I kept a cautious distance, but <strong>the car ahead didn\u2019t roll back on the hill at all and actually started smoothly\u2014it was driven very skillfully.<\/strong> There was really no need to put the sticker on, so maybe it\u2019s just for the family\u2019s practice.<\/p>\n<p>After that, we got on the highway and switched drivers at a service area. Now it was my husband\u2019s turn to drive the 320i. Curious about what he\u2019d say, I listened closely as he tried shifting up and down while driving.<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">\u201cThe clutch engagement feels really clear,\u201d \u201cAs expected, BMW\u2019s handling is sharp\u2014it carves through corners,\u201d \u201cThe highway stability is good, but I wonder if the slightly floaty ride is due to the tires?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11716\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2948-800x600.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The 320i started off in <strong>\u201cComfort\u201d mode<\/strong>, which made the suspension soft, but since my husband and I prefer a firmer ride, switching to <strong>\u201cSport\u201d mode<\/strong> made the suspension feel just right and crisp.<\/p>\n<p>That said, once we got used to it, I found myself wishing for <strong>a \u201cSport Plus\u201d mode or something similar that would stiffen the suspension a bit more.<\/strong> But since this 320i is the base model\u2014not the sportier M Sport version\u2014it\u2019s probably unrealistic to expect that.<\/p>\n<p>Still, <strong>this 320i is very quiet.<\/strong> Even when my husband downshifted and revved the engine, the engine noise was barely audible, so the sensation of acceleration was muted. <span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(Which means watch out for speeding! lol)<\/span> It felt like a Mercedes-Benz\u2014quiet and comfortable, making it very pleasant for passengers.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">Taking the Back Roads to Haga<\/h3>\n<p>We exited the highway at Yamazaki IC and headed to Haga on local roads. Traffic was heavy at first, but as we went north, it thinned out and we enjoyed a refreshing run on peaceful country roads. The weather was sunny and almost hot, so we stopped at a convenience store to hydrate.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11717\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_3087-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After that, we drove freely along the country roads leading to Haga.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11726\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_0069-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11720\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2956-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11728\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2958-1-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11724\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2959-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11727\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2960-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Driving these rural roads made me realize once again, \u201c<strong>Japan is truly beautiful.<\/strong>\u201d Cherry blossom-lined streets in spring, fresh greenery in summer, colorful autumn leaves, and snowy white landscapes in winter\u2014each season offers a completely different charm. <strong>The road to Haga looked totally different when we visited during the autumn foliage season,<\/strong> so I never get tired of coming here.<\/p>\n<p>After about an hour on local roads, we arrived at the parking lot of the hidden photo spot. As usual, there was no one else there lol.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11725\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2961-800x600.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When we come here, my husband usually spends 30 minutes to an hour taking photos of the car, so I left the photography to him and let the kids play on the grassy field next to us.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11729\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2962-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11730\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2979-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11731\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2976-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A clear stream runs nearby, and at night you can even see fireflies. The kids were thrilled, playing barefoot. When I thought, \u201c<strong>They\u2019ve played a lot,<\/strong>\u201d I glanced over at my husband\u2026 and yep, he was still taking photos (laughs).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11732\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2974-800x600.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>By the way, here are some photos my husband took then.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11733\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_3068-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11734\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_3070-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11735\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_0103-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11696\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_3069-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11736\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_0110-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11737\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_0100-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I want to come back here to shoot in other seasons too\u2026 Though I say that, I left all the shooting to my husband and didn\u2019t take a single photo myself (lol).<\/p>\n<p>After my husband finished photographing the 320i, we took some pictures of the kids as well.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11738\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2983-800x600.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We tried to climb further up the mountain and descend the other side, but a \u201c<strong>Caution: Road Collapse<\/strong>\u201d sign blocked the way, so we turned back <span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(typical when I\u2019m driving)<\/span> and returned the way we came, heading home.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11740\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_0067-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11739\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_0071-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The kids were so tired from all the playing that they fell into a deep, peaceful sleep.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11741\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_3088-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In total, we drove about 200 km that day on highways, city streets, and country roads, achieving <strong>fuel efficiency of 12.3 km\/l<\/strong>. I thought, \u201cNot bad!\u201d but I wonder if that\u2019s good compared to other cars in this class\u2026 After seeing Porsche\u2019s fuel economy, my sense of scale is totally warped (-_-).<\/p>\n<p>Still, cars are wonderful. <strong>With a car, you can take your family anywhere in Japan.<\/strong> I felt grateful once again for these daily blessings and this environment.<\/p>\n<p>Now, time to keep practicing my manual driving!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Heading to Haga in the 320i The other day, my family of four and I took a trip to Haga in Hyogo Prefecture in our BMW 320i.
