The other day, my husband had the chance to test drive a friend\u2019s Lamborghini Aventador SV on the Royu Driveway<\/strong>. I\u2019ve seen it once before, and even though I know nothing about Lamborghinis, its presence and extraordinary aura made me think, “This must be an incredibly serious car…<\/strong>” (I\u2019m quite clueless, though\u2026)<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m so jealous that he got to drive such a car! So, here\u2019s the test drive report he wrote\u2014please enjoy.<\/p>\n

Test Driving the Lamborghini Aventador SV<\/h3>\n

Recently, my husband was fortunate enough to get behind the wheel of the Lamborghini Aventador SV<\/strong>, so here\u2019s a brief report on that experience.<\/p>\n

The model he drove was the Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV. The “SV” stands for Superveloce<\/strong>, a name given to Lamborghini\u2019s top-tier models. It\u2019s an extremely rare car, limited to just 600 units worldwide, boasting a 6.5-liter V12 engine with 750 horsepower that rockets from 0 to 100 km\/h in 2.8 seconds.<\/p>\n

\"Aventador<\/p>\n

First, lifting the large vertically opening scissor door and sitting in the driver\u2019s seat, the initial impression was how low the seating position was and how tight the headroom felt<\/strong>. I\u2019m used to driving low cars, so the low seating wasn\u2019t shocking, but the Lamborghini\u2019s low stance still felt fresh. At about 177 cm tall, my head nearly touched the roof.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I wonder how it would be for someone wearing a helmet on the track or for a taller person.<\/p>\n

Starting the engine, the 6.5-liter V12 surprisingly wakes up smoothly.<\/strong> The sound is loud but not the ear-piercing roar typical of many Lamborghinis seen around town. This particular car has the original muffler, producing a fairly clear \u201cGooon!\u201d exhaust note.<\/p>\n

Incidentally, the owner also has an Aventador SVJ Roadster<\/strong>, whose engine start-up sound I\u2019ve heard\u2014it\u2019s more of a roaring \u201cGaoon!\u201d sound.<\/p>\n

Shifting into first gear and moving off, the start was surprisingly smooth, with no unpleasant shift shocks.<\/strong> Despite the 750 horsepower, the engine feels manageable at low speeds, and there\u2019s no need to be overly cautious with the throttle.<\/p>\n

The ride comfort is also surprisingly good.<\/strong> Of course, the suspension is firm, but it absorbs road shocks well, making the ride much milder than you\u2019d expect from its looks.<\/p>\n

Switching to manual mode and revving the engine to around 4000 rpm, the owner advised, “It\u2019s better to ease off the throttle slightly when shifting up.<\/strong>” Unlike Porsche\u2019s PDK, where you can keep your foot down, the shifting etiquette here is different.<\/p>\n

Taking a light corner, the steering is very sharp with minimal play.<\/strong> I\u2019ve ridden in my brother\u2019s Hurac\u00e1n a few times, and although it\u2019s the same brand, this feels like a very different car.<\/p>\n

The Hurac\u00e1n is tuned to be milder and more like a regular car, but the Aventador feels more suited for advanced drivers, with a vivid, lively character.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Driving<\/p>\n

The minimal steering play reminds me somewhat of Ferrari, but it\u2019s a bit different. To me, Ferrari\u2019s steering feels like it amplifies the driver\u2019s inputs,<\/strong> whereas this Aventador faithfully transmits the driver\u2019s commands without amplification.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For example, if you turn the wheel just 1 cm, the front wheels move exactly 1 cm\u2014there\u2019s no sense of the car exaggerating your input.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, there\u2019s no slight \u201clag\u201d between steering input and vehicle response like you find in Porsche.<\/strong> After a few corners, I started to think this feeling is similar to the McLaren 650S I used to own. That car also had tight, precise handling and incredible performance, and this seems to share that character.<\/p>\n

Since the engine was borrowed, I kept the revs moderate and didn\u2019t push it hard, but the engine response and sound were very satisfying.<\/strong> Even at low speeds, the sound was pleasant, not annoying or tiring, so it\u2019s perfectly fine for everyday driving.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When pushed, the V12\u2019s perfectly tuned note is a delight. Unlike other engines that sound like a mix of explosions, gear noise, intake, and exhaust, this sounds like a single musical instrument playing a pure tone.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experiencing the Lamborghini Aventador SV from the Passenger Seat<\/h3>\n

Next, the owner took over driving, and I experienced the ride from the passenger seat. The engine was revved hard, and the car tackled corners at a good pace. The high-rev engine sound was impressive, and the handling was superb.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The tire grip was especially intense.<\/strong> To feel the tires gripping this strongly means the chassis and suspension must be incredibly rigid.<\/p>\n

\"Driving<\/p>\n

Even through mid-speed hairpin turns, the sense of security was very strong. The tires gripped firmly, and I felt no unease at all from the passenger seat. For a large sports car measuring 4.8 meters long and over 2 meters wide, it moved with surprising agility and lightness.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The straight-line acceleration was also fantastic. Being naturally aspirated, it lacks the instant torque surge of a McLaren\u2019s turbo, but the sustained acceleration G-forces are intense, befitting a 750-horsepower car.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Toward the end of the test drive, I suddenly remembered: this car is all-wheel drive.<\/strong> Yet, neither driving nor riding felt like a 4WD car at all\u2014there was no hint of torque at the front wheels.<\/p>\n

It felt very much like a mid-engine rear-wheel-drive car, and the handling was completely free of understeer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Aventador<\/p>\n

The Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce costs over 50 million yen just for the vehicle itself, and only 600 people worldwide can own one. At this level, it\u2019s practically a collectible work of art, but its performance is no mere decoration\u2014it\u2019s a genuine, authentic driving machine.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a car that makes you want to praise the developers with a \u201cWell done!<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n
