My husband drives it every week, and lately he often says, \u201c<strong>The more I drive the GT3, the more I appreciate just how incredible the Panamera is.<\/strong>\u201d He\u2019s written an article about it, so please take a look if you\u2019re interested.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">What Makes the Panamera Turbo So Impressive<\/h3>\n<p>It\u2019s almost been two years since the 971 Panamera Turbo joined our family.<\/p>\n<p>I previously wrote that \u201c<strong>I think the GT3 and Panamera have a lot in common<\/strong>.\u201d This time, I\u2019ve had some new thoughts since then, so you can think of this as a follow-up.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"yNUEiMvwDv\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/panamera-and-911-are-similer\/\">\u30dd\u30eb\u30b7\u30a7 911 GT3\u306b\u4e57\u3063\u305f\u5f8c\u306b\u30d1\u30ca\u30e1\u30fc\u30e9\u30bf\u30fc\u30dc\u306b\u4e57\u308b\u3002\u3059\u308b\u3068\u3001\u3088\u304f\u4f3c\u3066\u3044\u308b\u3068\u611f\u3058\u308b\u4ef6<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"\u201c\u30dd\u30eb\u30b7\u30a7 911 GT3\u306b\u4e57\u3063\u305f\u5f8c\u306b\u30d1\u30ca\u30e1\u30fc\u30e9\u30bf\u30fc\u30dc\u306b\u4e57\u308b\u3002\u3059\u308b\u3068\u3001\u3088\u304f\u4f3c\u3066\u3044\u308b\u3068\u611f\u3058\u308b\u4ef6\u201d \u2014 \u30dd\u30eb\u30b7\u30a7\u304c\u308f\u304c\u5bb6\u306b\u3084\u3063\u3066\u304d\u305f - \u30aa\u30fc\u30ca\u30fc\u30ba\u30d6\u30ed\u30b0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/panamera-and-911-are-similer\/embed\/#?secret=i7l1OkSoU4#?secret=yNUEiMvwDv\" data-secret=\"yNUEiMvwDv\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>From the beginning, I\u2019ve been amazed by this car\u2019s dual personality. <strong>It can deliver a luxurious ride, but when you want to push it, it transforms. Its performance in Sport Plus mode is in a class of its own.<\/strong> It corners with astonishing agility for such a large car and delivers ferocious acceleration. I was already extremely satisfied with that alone.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-13492\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/IMG_7935-800x450.jpg\" alt=\"Panamera Turbo\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At the time, though, I\u2019d never driven a GT3, and I assumed that \u201c<strong>as impressive as the Panamera is, the GT3 must be on a whole other level<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But here\u2019s the thing.<\/p>\n<p>As I\u2019ve owned the GT3 and driven it nearly every day, I\u2019ve come to feel that \u201c<strong>the performance gap between the Panamera and the GT3 isn\u2019t as big as I imagined<\/strong>.\u201d Of course, there\u2019s no doubt that the 991-generation GT3 is faster around a circuit, and it\u2019s clear that it has a higher cornering speed, too. But what I\u2019m trying to say is:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\"><strong>The gap isn\u2019t all that big.<\/strong> The Panamera Turbo lapped the N\u00fcrburgring in 7 minutes 38 seconds\u2014faster than the previous-generation 997 911 GT3\u2019s time of 7 minutes 40 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Lately, <strong>I\u2019ve been lowering the ride height whenever I drive the Panamera<\/strong>. The handling feels more precise, and the car seems to roll less. Sometimes, I switch to Sport or Sport Plus on a bend and take it through at speed. The first thing that comes to mind is, \u201c<strong>Wow, it feels like a GT3!<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m not exaggerating. The rear-axle steering probably plays a part, but to me, the two cars really do feel remarkably similar.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-12210\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_3468-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">The Panamera Is a Sports Car<\/h3>\n<p>Since I started thinking about the car this way, <strong>I\u2019ve come to love the Panamera Turbo even more, and feel like I\u2019ve discovered a whole new side to it.<\/strong> When we first bought it, I was simply amazed that it was such an incredible car. Now that I can measure its performance against the GT3, <strong>I have a much better sense of just how extraordinary it really is.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If I had to sum up the Panamera Turbo in one phrase, I\u2019d confidently call it:<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;A four-door sports car that can become a GT3 at any moment&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Calling the Panamera a \u201csports sedan\u201d doesn\u2019t do it justice. <strong>It\u2019s a sports car, full stop.<\/strong> And the moment you switch to Sport Plus, it can feel like a four-door GT3.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re thinking, \u201c<strong>I want a Porsche, but I have a family and can\u2019t own two cars<\/strong>,\u201d I\u2019d absolutely recommend the Panamera. And if you\u2019ve never driven a 911, don\u2019t worry. The Panamera lets you experience the essence of a 911 without even realizing it.
