{"id":37560,"date":"2019-08-22T06:00:02","date_gmt":"2019-08-21T21:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/?p=37560"},"modified":"2021-09-04T11:15:21","modified_gmt":"2021-09-04T02:15:21","slug":"gt3-panamera","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/en\/entry\/gt3-panamera\/","title":{"rendered":"The More I Drive the Porsche GT3, the More I Appreciate the Panamera"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At the end of May, the GT3 delivered to us is approaching 4,000 km on the odometer, and my husband, who drives the GT3 every week, has recently been saying, &#8220;<strong>Driving the GT3 has made me appreciate the greatness of the Panamera even more than before<\/strong>.&#8221; He wrote an article about this, so please take a look if you&#8217;re interested.  <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">The Greatness of the Panamera Turbo<\/h3>\n<p>It\u2019s almost been two years since the 971 Panamera Turbo came to our home.  <\/p>\n<p>I previously wrote an article titled &#8220;<strong>I Think the GT3 and Panamera Are Similar<\/strong>,&#8221; but since then, I\u2019ve had some new thoughts, so please consider this a follow-up.  <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"8VXMnFx7ma\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/panamera-and-911-are-similer\/\">\u30dd\u30eb\u30b7\u30a7 911 GT3\u306b\u4e57\u3063\u305f\u5f8c\u306b\u30d1\u30ca\u30e1\u30fc\u30e9\u30bf\u30fc\u30dc\u306b\u4e57\u308b\u3002\u3059\u308b\u3068\u3001\u3088\u304f\u4f3c\u3066\u3044\u308b\u3068\u611f\u3058\u308b\u4ef6<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/panamera-and-911-are-similer\/embed\/#?secret=8VXMnFx7ma\" data-secret=\"8VXMnFx7ma\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" title=\"&#8220;\u30dd\u30eb\u30b7\u30a7 911 GT3\u306b\u4e57\u3063\u305f\u5f8c\u306b\u30d1\u30ca\u30e1\u30fc\u30e9\u30bf\u30fc\u30dc\u306b\u4e57\u308b\u3002\u3059\u308b\u3068\u3001\u3088\u304f\u4f3c\u3066\u3044\u308b\u3068\u611f\u3058\u308b\u4ef6&#8221; &#8212; \u30dd\u30eb\u30b7\u30a7\u304c\u308f\u304c\u5bb6\u306b\u3084\u3063\u3066\u304d\u305f - \u30aa\u30fc\u30ca\u30fc\u30ba\u30d6\u30ed\u30b0\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>  <\/p>\n<p>From the start, I\u2019ve been amazed by the dual nature of this car: <strong>it can cruise luxuriously, yet transform completely when you want to push it hard. Especially in Sport Plus mode, it\u2019s in a class of its own.<\/strong> Around corners, that massive body turns with unbelievable agility and delivers breathtaking acceleration. I was already very satisfied with that.  <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-13492\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/IMG_7935-800x450.jpg\" alt=\"Panamera Turbo\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" \/>  <\/p>\n<p>However, at the time, not knowing the GT3, I imagined, &#8220;<strong>Surely the GT3 must be far more incredible than the Panamera.<\/strong>&#8221;  <\/p>\n<p>But then&#8230;  <\/p>\n<p>After owning and driving the GT3 almost daily, I came to think, &#8220;<strong>The difference in driving performance between the Panamera and GT3 isn\u2019t as big as I imagined.<\/strong>&#8221; Of course, the 991 GT3 is faster on the circuit, and its cornering speed is clearly superior. But what I want to say is,  <\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\"><strong>that difference isn\u2019t that large.<\/strong> In fact, the N\u00fcrburgring lap time for the Panamera Turbo is 7 minutes 38 seconds, which is faster than the previous 997-generation 911 GT3\u2019s 7 minutes 40 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Lately, <strong>I\u2019ve been lowering the ride height when driving the Panamera<\/strong>. It feels like the handling becomes more precise and body roll is better controlled. Sometimes, when I take corners in Sport or Sport Plus mode with some enthusiasm, the first thing I think is, &#8220;<strong>Wow, just like a GT3!<\/strong>&#8221;  <\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m not exaggerating. While the rear-axle steering certainly helps, to me, it really feels very similar.  <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-12210\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_3468-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/>  <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">The Panamera Is a Sports Car<\/h3>\n<p>Since feeling this way, <strong>I\u2019ve grown even more fond of the Panamera Turbo and feel like I\u2019ve rediscovered its true greatness.<\/strong> From the initial awe of \u201cjust how incredible this car is,\u201d to now being able to measure its performance against the GT3, <strong>I better understand the scale of its amazing capabilities.<\/strong>  <\/p>\n<p>If I had to sum up the Panamera Turbo in one phrase, I would confidently say:  <\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;A 4-door sports car that can become a GT3 anytime.&#8221;<\/strong>  <\/p>\n<p>When talking about the Panamera, calling it a sports sedan is too mild. <strong>It\u2019s fully within the realm of sports cars.<\/strong> And once you switch to Sport Plus mode, it feels just like a 4-door GT3.  <\/p>\n<p>If you want a Porsche but have family to consider and can\u2019t have two cars, I highly recommend the Panamera. Even if you don\u2019t know the 911, don\u2019t worry. The Panamera lets you experience the essence of the 911 without even realizing it.
