A Simple Question to My Husband,\u201d and surprisingly, it still gets a lot of feedback and messages.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"CHnkmlRYp6\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/how-to-get-porsche\/\">\u300c\u3069\u3046\u3059\u308c\u3070\u30dd\u30eb\u30b7\u30a7\u3092\u8cb7\u3048\u308b\u3088\u3046\u306b\u306a\u308b\uff1f\u300d\u7d20\u6734\u306a\u7591\u554f\u3092\u592b\u306b\u3076\u3064\u3051\u3066\u307f\u305f<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;\u300c\u3069\u3046\u3059\u308c\u3070\u30dd\u30eb\u30b7\u30a7\u3092\u8cb7\u3048\u308b\u3088\u3046\u306b\u306a\u308b\uff1f\u300d\u7d20\u6734\u306a\u7591\u554f\u3092\u592b\u306b\u3076\u3064\u3051\u3066\u307f\u305f&#8221; &#8212; \u30dd\u30eb\u30b7\u30a7\u304c\u308f\u304c\u5bb6\u306b\u3084\u3063\u3066\u304d\u305f - \u30aa\u30fc\u30ca\u30fc\u30ba\u30d6\u30ed\u30b0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/how-to-get-porsche\/embed\/#?secret=CHnkmlRYp6\" data-secret=\"CHnkmlRYp6\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t exactly a sequel, but my husband has been meeting and connecting with various Porsche owners in different places, and recently he said something that really stuck with me.<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">I still have a long way to go. It\u2019s humbling. There\u2019s always someone above you. When I talk with everyone, <strong>I feel like a brand-new employee just starting out in the working world<\/strong>. I have to keep pushing myself and earn more!<\/p>\n<p>He said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-13506 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/IMG_0620-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As his wife, I\u2019m really happy to see him motivated, but <strong>if he\u2019s a \u201cnew employee,\u201d then I\u2019m probably like a \u201ckindergartener just starting school\u201d<\/strong> (-_-). It really makes me realize how vast the world is.<\/p>\n<p>When I asked him, \u201cIf there are people above you, what are they like?\u201d he said,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">Hmm&#8230; If I compare it to cars, it\u2019s like the <strong>\u201cgear ratio\u201d is completely different<\/strong>. Everyone has the same \u201c24 hours in a day,\u201d which is like the engine\u2019s <strong>RPM<\/strong>. For example, everyone can rev up to about 8,000 RPM. But since there\u2019s a redline, it\u2019s impossible to work beyond 8,000 RPM all day long.<br \/>\nOn the other hand, those top people have a different <strong>\u201cgear ratio\u201d<\/strong>. Their max RPM is the same 8,000, but their gear can go up to 100 speeds, so <strong>just by pressing the gas a little, they can earn a lot even at only 1,000 RPM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>I thought, wow\u2026 He really loves using car analogies (laughs). He continued,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">Talking with those people reminded me that when I worked at a company, I thought, \u201cI\u2019ll work hard and someday be able to buy a Porsche.\u201d But I realized that just working from morning till night and climbing the corporate ladder doesn\u2019t necessarily mean you can afford one.<br \/>\nSure, maybe someday you can, but it\u2019s inefficient.<br \/>\nIf you can work that hard, <strong>you should work just as hard but in a more efficient environment to earn more<\/strong>. That\u2019s partly why I started my own business, and I feel like starting my own company raised my gear ratio and helped me earn more.<\/p>\n<p>I see\u2026 To that, I said,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">But not everyone can start a business. I tried it in my 20s, but I wasn\u2019t cut out for it and didn\u2019t get the results I wanted. In fact, <strong>I kept pushing the engine hard at 8,000 RPM in the redline zone until it broke down<\/strong> (laughs).<\/p>\n<p>He replied,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">Yeah, I\u2019m not saying everyone should start a business. The easiest step might be <strong>changing jobs<\/strong>.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s best to improve your skills and work efficiently where you\u2019re appreciated. Also, side jobs or investments for passive income might be ways to raise your gear.<br \/>\nAnyway, even if you work hard, <strong>working in first gear versus sixth gear makes a huge difference in results<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Then he added,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">Also, I think it\u2019s important to break free from the mindset of \u201cearning by time.\u201d<br \/>\nMost salaried workers get paid monthly and live within systems like overtime and paid leave, so they naturally calculate their pay based on time. I used to be like that too. I even did a lot of unpaid overtime and weekend work (laughs).<br \/>\nBut now I realize <strong>it\u2019s hard to earn a high income by selling your time<\/strong>. Throughout history, very few people have made a fortune by selling their time. Top athletes, elite engineers, business owners, and celebrities who earn a lot don\u2019t get paid by the hour. They earn by offering their skills, abilities, or services. You have to convert that into money. <strong>That\u2019s what raising your gear means.<\/strong><br \/>\nChanging your mindset from this <strong>\u201ctime-for-money\u201d<\/strong> model is really important.<\/p>\n<p>Once he starts talking like this, he won\u2019t stop until he\u2019s convinced himself (lol), so I asked,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">I hear a lot of people around me say they want to start a business, but they hesitate because they might <strong>temporarily lose access to their car<\/strong> or won\u2019t have time or money for hobbies. Have you ever felt that kind of anxiety when you started your business?<\/p>\n<p>He answered,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">Well, I think it comes down to the \u201c<strong>passion<\/strong>\u201d I mentioned before.<br \/>\nWhen I first started my business, I had no money, but I was obsessed with <strong>always having a car to drive, never letting that stop<\/strong>. I scraped together my savings and bought a used BMW for 360,000 yen on Yahoo Auctions. I cut back on food expenses to pay for gas. It was about to break down, but it was a fun car.<br \/>\nBasically, if you really want to, you can do anything. If you don\u2019t, it\u2019s because you don\u2019t have enough <strong>\u201cpassion\u201d to succeed, to drive a Porsche, to become who you want to be.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I see \u2014 passion, huh.<\/p>\n<p>When I hear \u201c<strong>passion<\/strong>,\u201d I immediately imagine pushing the engine hard at 8,000 RPM in first gear, so I guess I need to change that way of thinking first. That said, since I started blogging, I feel my mindset has been slowly shifting.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-13499 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/IMG_0137-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">Towards the Goal of Buying a Porsche<\/h3>\n<p>We\u2019ve known each other for almost 10 years now, and my husband has always been someone who <strong>likes spending time with mentors who are far ahead of him<\/strong>. When I said, \u201cThat hasn\u2019t changed, huh?\u201d he said,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">Because it\u2019s inspiring. I think, \u201cWow, that\u2019s amazing,\u201d and if I study and imitate the behavior and mindset of those incredible people, I might get there too. That thought excites me.
