GT3 Surpasses 10,000 Kilometers<\/h3>\n

The 911 GT3 was delivered last May. In just a year and a half, it has already exceeded 10,000 kilometers (currently 10,605 km).<\/strong> Even though my husband often goes touring with other cars, the fact that the GT3 has passed 10,000 km really shows how much he loves driving.<\/p>\n

Recently, my husband mentioned something about the GT3:<\/p>\n

The feel of the GT3\u2019s steering wheel has changed a bit.<\/strong> It used to have a rougher leather texture, but lately it feels like the leather\u2019s roughness has softened just a little. As a car racks up mileage, the interior shows signs of wear, but I feel the steering wheel reflects that most noticeably.<\/p>\n

Also, the chrome part of the shift knob was starting to come loose, so he had the dealer check it during the oil change. It was replaced under warranty. When you drive this much, it\u2019s natural that little things start to catch your attention.<\/p>\n

Recently, my husband took the GT3 on a long-distance tour<\/strong> (I plan to write an article about that soon), and right after, he was scheduled to drive the GT3 at Suzuka Circuit<\/strong>. So before that, he decided to get an oil change at the dealer.<\/p>\n

Since we\u2019ve been having a string of oil changes and inspections for our cars lately, my husband sighed,<\/p>\n

I just had the oil changed on the 911 Cabriolet (992 model), and now it\u2019s the GT3\u2019s turn… Porsche really does cost a lot to maintain…<\/p>\n

He said this with a wry smile. Maybe I should calculate the maintenance costs for all our cars sometime…<\/p>\n

Cost of Oil Change for Porsche 911 GT3<\/h3>\n

The oil change for the GT3 took about an hour, and the cost was:<\/p>\n

\n\u30fbTotal (including labor): 32,067 yen (tax included)<\/p>\n

I couldn\u2019t help but think again how different this is from the BMW 320i I used to own. (Well, of course.) The GT3 is only a year and a half old, so there\u2019s no wear or parts replacement needed yet, but I wonder how expensive inspections will get after five years.<\/strong> If something like a PCCB replacement comes up, that would be a serious expense…<\/p>\n

Cars really are expensive.<\/p>\n
