Our GT3 Has Passed 10,000 Kilometers<\/h3>\n

Our 911 GT3 was delivered last May. In just a year and a half, it has already covered more than 10,000 kilometers\u201410,605 kilometers, to be exact.<\/strong> My husband often takes other cars on road trips, too, so the fact that the GT3 has still passed the 10,000-kilometer mark really drives home just how much he loves being behind the wheel.<\/p>\n

Recently, he mentioned something he\u2019d noticed about the GT3.<\/p>\n

The steering wheel feels a little different now.<\/strong> It used to have more of that textured feel to the leather, but lately it seems just a bit smoother. As a car racks up miles, the interior starts to show some wear, and I feel like you can really tell with the steering wheel.<\/p>\n

That got me thinking.<\/p>\n

Apparently, the chrome trim on the shift knob was also starting to come loose. The dealer took a look during this oil change and replaced the part under warranty. When you drive a car this much, little things are bound to catch your attention.<\/p>\n

The other day, my husband took the GT3 on a long-distance road trip<\/strong> (I\u2019m hoping to write about that soon), and he was also planning to drive it at Suzuka Circuit<\/strong> shortly afterward. So he decided to have the oil changed at the dealer beforehand.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve had a run of oil changes and inspections for our cars lately, and my husband ruefully remarked:<\/p>\n

I feel like we just changed the oil in the 911 Cabriolet (992), and now it\u2019s the GT3\u2019s turn\u2026 Porsche ownership really does cost a lot.<\/p>\n

Maybe I should figure out how much we spend maintaining each of our cars\u2026<\/p>\n

Porsche 911 GT3 Oil Change Cost<\/h3>\n

The GT3\u2019s oil change apparently took about an hour. Here\u2019s what it cost:<\/p>\n

It\u2019s definitely a different price point from my old BMW 320i\u2014though I suppose that\u2019s only to be expected. The GT3 is only a year and a half old, so there haven\u2019t been any major issues or worn-out parts needing replacement yet. Still, I wonder how much a service visit will cost once it\u2019s five years old.<\/strong> Replacing the PCCB brakes would be a whole different story\u2026<\/p>\n
