Porsche Key Cases<\/h3>\n

We currently have six cars at home, and the shelf where we keep the keys has become quite a sight.<\/p>\n

Some of our cars have separate keys for my husband and me, so we\u2019ve ended up with more keys than cars.<\/p>\n

For a while, I\u2019ve used the Porsche Crest key rings we received when our cars were delivered. But I was concerned that the leather would wear down from rubbing against the metal hardware.<\/p>\n

The second from the left and the one on the far right are sold at the Porsche Museum in Germany. The Crest is attached differently, and both the leather and Crest feel exceptionally well made and durable.<\/p><\/div>\n

There\u2019s another problem, too. When we\u2019re rushing out of the house, I sometimes grab the wrong car key. All of mine have red key rings, so I don\u2019t always notice until I get to the car and think, \u201cWait, this is the wrong key!<\/strong>\u201d Then I have to hurry back home to get the right one.<\/p>\n

Around that time, my husband said,<\/p>\n

I have a few things to order from Suncoast<\/a>, an online store that sells Porsche parts and accessories in the US, so maybe I\u2019ll add a couple of key cases while I\u2019m at it. The leather ones look really good, and you can choose a color that matches the car\u2019s interior<\/strong>, so maybe we should get one for the Cayenne and one for the 992.
\nThey\u2019re also about half the price of buying them from a Porsche dealer in Japan.<\/p>\n

The leather key case he had his eye on was currently available for $139. It arrived about a week after we placed the order, so we wasted no time putting it on the key.<\/p>\n

It looks great! \u201cPORSCHE\u201d is engraved on the metal hardware.<\/p>\n

Pull the key out a little, and the Porsche Crest peeks out.<\/p>\n

The leather feels excellent, and the case has a premium look and a comfortable grip. Well, it does cost around \u00a515,000, after all\u2026 For the Cayenne, I asked him to order a Bordeaux Red leather key case<\/strong>. My husband also ordered one in Mojave Beige for the 992 (911 Cabriolet), along with a Classic Key Pouch for our air-cooled Porsche.<\/p>\n

For the 992 (911 Cabriolet), my husband put an Aventurine Green key cover\u2014the color of our car\u2019s exterior\u2014on the key, then slipped it into a Mojave Beige leather case to match the interior. A little extra coordination never hurts!\u7b11<\/p>\n

And here\u2019s the key pouch for our air-cooled Porsche. It\u2019s hard to capture the feel of the leather in a photo, but I really like its classic look and texture.<\/p>\n

We hung the keys back on the shelf. Hopefully, this will put an end to grabbing the wrong set!<\/p>\n

As for ordering from Suncoast, my husband pointed out:<\/p>\n

Even though it\u2019s cheaper than buying from a Porsche dealer in Japan, shipping for small items like these is around \u00a55,000, plus a little customs duty<\/strong>. That\u2019s why I try to bundle orders. And it\u2019s worth keeping an eye on the exchange rate: if the yen is weak, the total can get pretty expensive. You\u2019re better off thinking about the timing before you buy.<\/p>\n
