Oil Change for Porsche 911 (992)<\/h3>\n

The other day, my husband already had the oil and filter changed on his 911 Cabriolet (992) at the dealer<\/strong>. It had only been a little over a month since delivery, but he had quickly finished the break-in period by using it for commuting and some mid-distance touring.<\/p>\n

The reason was that he had planned to drive at Fuji Speedway soon at a Porsche Driving School (Porsche Track Experience)<\/strong>, so he wanted to finish the break-in and get maintenance done beforehand.<\/p>\n

By the way, the mileage at that time was 2,400 km. My husband said,<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not like you have to change the oil or filter just because the break-in is over<\/strong> (according to the manufacturer), but since I\u2019m going to the Porsche Driving School and running on the circuit, I thought it would be better and more reassuring to have it cleaned up now.<\/p>\n

When it comes to Porsche oil and oil filter changes, from past experience I thought it would take about an hour and a half at the shop, but apparently that\u2019s not the case with the 992.<\/p>\n

Not only the oil but also the oil filter replacement requires removing the coolant reservoir cap to access the oil filter, so the coolant must cool down before the filter can be changed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Because of this, when changing the filter on the 992, you have to wait several hours for it to cool down, so we went home once and came back another day to pick it up.<\/p>\n

The Whole Family Visits the Porsche Center<\/h3>\n

After the oil change was done, I was going to drive my husband to the dealer on a quiet weekday evening, but since the kids are still small, naturally the whole family had to come along (laughs).<\/p>\n

Then I realized, “This will be our eldest son\u2019s Porsche Center debut<\/strong>,” so we decided to dress him up properly\u2014in other words, in a Porsche baby romper.<\/p>\n

Our eldest son was born in August, and thanks to good growth, he\u2019s already a giant baby who people say looks about six months old. The Porsche romper is sized for 3 to 6 months,<\/strong> but it fit him perfectly.<\/p>\n

Someday when he\u2019s older, I want to show him these photos and say, \u201cThis is from the first time you went to the Porsche Center,\u201d but honestly, he probably won\u2019t care at all (lol).<\/p>\n
