Starting YouTube<\/h3>\n

Those of you who have been following my blog for a while might have noticed that since August, I significantly reduced the frequency of my blog updates.<\/strong> Until then, I was posting almost daily, but from August onward, it became every other day or sometimes even skipping two days.<\/p>\n

Also, I used to publish posts at exactly 6 a.m.<\/strong>, but even that schedule became irregular.<\/p>\n

Why was that\u2026?<\/p>\n

As some readers might have guessed, my focus had completely shifted to videos (YouTube)<\/strong> (lol). But now that September has arrived, I\u2019m planning to shift my main focus back to the blog while still working hard on videos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Parenting and Video Creation<\/h3>\n

In July, I decided, \u201cI\u2019m going to debut as a YouTuber soon.\u201d I touched on this a bit in a previous post, but the main reason was that I started to visualize the kind of car videos I wanted to create<\/strong>. After that, I jumped right in and began making videos, but it turned out to be an incredibly time-consuming process.<\/p>\n

The first video I uploaded (just 7 minutes long)<\/span> took a staggering 50 hours<\/strong> to produce. For the second video and beyond, I got more comfortable with the editing software, so it didn\u2019t take as long, but even then, each video still took about three days to complete.<\/p>\n

Editing videos itself is fascinating and deep, and before I knew it, I could spend hours on it. But since I worked at home wearing headphones, balancing that with the kids was tricky\u2026<\/p>\n

While I was deeply focused, the kids would suddenly try to pull off my headphones, start fighting beside me, shout things like \u201cMom, I need to poop!\u201d<\/strong>, or come running over soaked in juice saying \u201cMom, I spilled my drink!\u201d<\/strong> (\u2013_\u2013)w<\/p>\n

Because video editing requires more intense concentration than blogging, being interrupted when I\u2019m in the zone was extremely stressful.<\/strong> After calming the kids down, I had to mentally reset and rebuild my focus, which made the process take even longer.<\/p>\n

Even after spending so much time creating videos and uploading them, my channel had few subscribers, and the number and quality of videos were still limited, so each video only got about 1,000 views (to those who subscribed and watched, thank you so much!!)<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Honestly, I thought, \u201cHmm, after all this effort, only this many views\u2026 the road ahead is still long.\u201d But of course, that\u2019s to be expected.<\/p>\n

During this time, since I can\u2019t do many things at once, when I decided to \u201cmake videos!\u201d<\/strong>, I focused solely on that. My husband laughed and said,<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy can\u2019t you balance both blogging and videos? Mina, why do you always only focus on one thing at a time?\u201d<\/p>\n

But that\u2019s just how I\u2019ve always been. Sometimes on TV, I hear that women\u2019s brains are better at multitasking than men\u2019s<\/strong>, but every time I hear that, I think to myself, \u201cThat\u2019s definitely not true!\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Positioning Blogging and Videos<\/h3>\n

That\u2019s how August passed with my focus fully on videos, and September arrived. Recently, my husband and I reviewed my blogging and video creation efforts from August<\/strong> and after some thought, I decided to shift my main focus back to blogging while continuing to work on videos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Both blogging and videos are about \u201csharing something with the world,\u201d but when I organized my thoughts, I realized they mean quite different things to me.<\/p>\n

[Blogging] = Introspection<\/strong>: Sharing my (and my husband\u2019s) thoughts, values, and life philosophy through our car life.
\n[Videos] = Creativity<\/strong>: Using my sensibility to showcase the charm and greatness of the cars to the fullest.<\/p>\n

In other words, blogging and videos engage completely different parts of my brain.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I also realized that the process of writing\u2014facing myself, digging deeper, organizing my thoughts, and outputting them\u2014is incredibly important to me.<\/strong> Of course, many people share their thoughts through videos, but I\u2019m not doing that right now.<\/p>\n

That said, I\u2019m not quitting videos. Using a different part of my brain for videos has stimulated my creativity and changed how I gather information, so doing both blogging and videos broadens my world.<\/strong><\/p>\n

So, although my posting frequency will drop, I want to keep creating and uploading videos when I have enough material and time. So,<\/p>\n

I\u2019m going to increase my blog update frequency from now on!<\/span><\/p>\n

I can already hear some readers saying, \u201cBut Mina, you said that before and ended up collapsing from overwork!\u201d<\/strong> But recently, I\u2019ve finally started listening to my body\u2019s signals.<\/p>\n

When I feel, \u201cThis is too much, I\u2019m tired,\u201d or \u201cMy head is about to hurt,\u201d I take a short nap or just zone out for a bit. Also, I\u2019ve started doing yoga every morning for balancing my autonomic nervous system, health, and weight loss<\/strong>, and it seems really effective (though I haven\u2019t lost any weight yet)<\/span>.<\/p>\n

So, I don\u2019t think I\u2019ll get so reckless again that I ignore my body\u2019s signals\u2026 hopefully lol.<\/p>\n

Trying video creation has taught me a lot, and I\u2019ll keep experimenting to find better ways while working hard until the day I can buy a Porsche.
