Please have a look if you\u2019re interested.  <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">AMG C63S Test Drive Review<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">A longtime acquaintance, Mr. K, who owns a 718 Boxster GTS, recently purchased an <strong>AMG C63S Edition 1<\/strong>, and I got to see it up close this time.<\/p>\n<p>My Mercedes history includes owning an <strong>R171 SLK350, R129 SL500, and an AMG S63 Coupe<\/strong>. The AMG S63 Coupe left a strong impression as a luxurious, comfortable, and fast car, but I had never driven the younger sibling, the C63, so I was really looking forward to this day.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"psHo4PQYu0\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/amg-s63-coupe-review\/\">\u30e1\u30eb\u30bb\u30c7\u30b9\u30fb\u30d9\u30f3\u30c4AMG S63 4MATIC \u30af\u30fc\u30da \uff08C217\uff09\u3092\u6240\u6709\u3057\u3066\u307f\u305f\u611f\u60f3<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;\u30e1\u30eb\u30bb\u30c7\u30b9\u30fb\u30d9\u30f3\u30c4AMG S63 4MATIC \u30af\u30fc\u30da \uff08C217\uff09\u3092\u6240\u6709\u3057\u3066\u307f\u305f\u611f\u60f3&#8221; &#8212; \u30dd\u30eb\u30b7\u30a7\u304c\u308f\u304c\u5bb6\u306b\u3084\u3063\u3066\u304d\u305f - \u30aa\u30fc\u30ca\u30fc\u30ba\u30d6\u30ed\u30b0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/amg-s63-coupe-review\/embed\/#?secret=psHo4PQYu0\" data-secret=\"psHo4PQYu0\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>  <\/p>\n<p>Just a little past our meeting time, the AMG C63S arrived, resonating with a deep V8 rumble. The black body looked stunning with the trendy red-lined matte black wheels and matching red accents on the grille.  <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14008\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_8394-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"AMG C63S\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/>  <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-13996\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_8371-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"AMG C63S Wheels\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/>  <\/p>\n<p><strong>The interior is, as expected from AMG, luxurious.<\/strong> The dashboard is leather-wrapped, clearly setting it apart from a standard C-Class. However, the glovebox and rear seat <strong>center console are made of plastic rather than leather.<\/strong> It would look even better if these were leather too\u2014perhaps they are available as options?  <\/p>\n<p>Still, the slightly reddish carbon fiber panels combined with abundant aluminum materials give the cabin a very high-quality tactile feel.  <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-13998\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_8366-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"AMG C63S Center Console\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/>  <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_8362-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"AMG C63S IWC Watch\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/>  <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14001\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_8367-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"AMG C63S Interior\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/>  <\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The seats are a bit tight but <strong>very comfortable with thick cushioning.<\/strong> Some previous Mercedes sports models like the older E-Class Coupe and SLK had surprisingly thin seat cushions, which sometimes caused discomfort on long drives for me. The C63S seats, however, felt excellent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The side bolsters are firm but not too large or small\u2014just the right size for my 177cm height. Compared to this, the Panamera\u2019s seats feel a bit thin and oversized.<\/p>\n<p>I heard that this car is a <strong>limited Edition 1 model equipped with exclusive AMG Performance seats.<\/strong><br \/>\nThe rear seats aren\u2019t spacious but are sufficient for adults. At my height, my knees don\u2019t touch anything, and I can sit comfortably.  <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14003\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_8376-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"AMG C63S Rear Seats\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/>  <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14002\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_8375-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"AMG C63S Rear Seats\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/>  <\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Starting off in Comfort mode, the car drives surprisingly normally, considering the specs of 510ps at 5500-6250rpm and 700Nm torque at 2000-4500rpm. <strong>The throttle feels lighter than older Mercedes or Porsche models,<\/strong> but you quickly get used to it and can drive normally.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><strong>The suspension is clearly on the firmer side, and under heavy input, you can distinctly feel bumps and vibrations,<\/strong> but like modern high-performance sports cars, the vibrations are well filtered, so you don\u2019t get jolted directly. On smooth pavement, it\u2019s as comfortable as a regular C-Class.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">This ride quality is naturally different from the <span class=\"s2\">S63<\/span>. <strong>The S63 always tries to suppress vibrations and noise, so the differentiation is clear.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><strong>I expected sharper handling from the C63S,<\/strong> but in Comfort mode, it behaves like a typical Mercedes: it turns exactly as much as you steer. From the start to the end of the steering input, it traces the line precisely with just a tiny bit of play.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14005\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_8372-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"AMG C63S\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/>  <\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">While driving, I felt an incredible sense of body rigidity\u2014or rather, a solid massiveness. This feeling of solidity is amazing. I\u2019ve experienced a few cars with similar rigidity, but this one ranks near the top. It\u2019s like being inside a shell with tires attached at the four corners.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><strong>The most impressive thing about the <span class=\"s2\">C63S<\/span> for me is this sense of solidity.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">This solidity brings a reassuring feeling, perfectly balanced with the seat\u2019s snug fit and support. When you press the accelerator firmly, the rich torque pushes you forward eagerly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/amg-c63s-review\/2\/\">Next page \u2192 What happens when you switch to Sport and Sport Plus modes? How does it compare to the Panamera?<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage-->  <\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Switching to Sport or Sport Plus modes brings out these traits more clearly: handling becomes more precise, the engine sounds more aggressive, and the blipping on downshifts becomes louder with occasional popping backfire sounds.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14004\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_8373-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"C63S Exhaust\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/>  <\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The suspension tightens up, handling sharpens, and the feeling of slippage decreases dramatically. However, unlike some other sports cars, the tuning remains distinctly Mercedes\u2014slightly understeering rather than razor-sharp cornering.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">As with other Mercedes models, <strong>stability is prioritized first, with driving enjoyment layered on top.<\/strong> I didn\u2019t try Race mode this time, but switching to it or adjusting traction control might make the car feel even sharper.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The engine delivers strong torque. Although I didn\u2019t push the throttle deeply, the owner mentioned that <strong>even during normal acceleration, pressing hard can cause the tires to spin.<\/strong> This is probably because the car is relatively compact and <span class=\"s2\">FR<\/span>. Also, given the car\u2019s character, I think the manufacturer intentionally tuned it this way to make it more fun.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14006\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_8365-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"AMG C63S Gauges\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/>  <\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The engine sound isn\u2019t quite a roar but is quite aggressive. The low to mid-range has that classic <span class=\"s2\">V8<\/span> growl, while the high revs surprisingly produce a smooth, well-tuned note. Personally, I like the sound in the high rev range.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">However, the owner said he wasn\u2019t fully satisfied with the sound. Since he also owns a <span class=\"s2\">718<\/span> Boxster <span class=\"s2\">GTS<\/span>, he compares the open-top\u2019s thrilling sound to the quieter C63S and finds it somewhat lacking.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">Then, Driving the Panamera<\/h3>\n<p>After driving the C63S, I returned home in our Panamera Turbo. Compared side-by-side, <strong>the Panamera definitely feels more luxurious.<\/strong> This is especially noticeable in ride comfort, where the Panamera\u2019s suspension, which I thought was firm, feels incredibly supple.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">On the other hand, the sensation of feeling the car\u2019s four corners or having a precise sense of the body\u2019s position is less pronounced in the Panamera. While it corners well, <strong>the C63S makes it easier to understand exactly what the body is doing.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">I think the C63S\u2019s design emphasizes this solid feeling so drivers can easily sense the car\u2019s state, especially when power sliding or drifting that compact body on a circuit.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14007\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_8393-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"Panamera and C63S\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/>  <\/p>\n<p>If I had to sum up the C63S in one phrase, it would be a &#8216;<strong>mischievous Mercedes<\/strong>.&#8217; Compared to the S63, the AMG\u2019s direction is clearly <strong>sportier and more entertaining.<\/strong> It\u2019s perfect for those who want a compact car with enough power to easily outmatch higher-class models but don\u2019t prioritize the pure handling joy that BMW M models emphasize.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">However, I feel the true enjoyment of this car isn\u2019t about chasing lap times on a circuit but about having fun sliding and drifting with its power. It\u2019s a car with a chassis, body, and power that anyone can enjoy in that way.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">My Husband\u2019s Impression of the AMG C63S<\/h3>\n<p>My husband often gets to test drive friends\u2019 cars like this, and from his excitement and the way he talks, I can usually tell if <strong>he really liked the car<\/strong> or if it wasn\u2019t quite his style.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">In the case of the AMG C63S, it was definitely a nice car, but when I asked, he said, &#8220;<strong>I prefer Mercedes to feel a bit more composed. But for people who like muscle car vibes, this is spot on.<\/strong>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">He often says he wants to drive an <strong>SL<\/strong> when it comes to Mercedes, so I guess that\u2019s more his style\u2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Still, I\u2019m grateful to have the chance to experience so many great cars.
