It read, &#8220;<strong>Ignition key battery low. Replace ignition key battery.<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14241\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_4940-800x600.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>My husband\u2019s key had shown this message before, and he had already replaced the battery. Although it\u2019s been about two years since delivery and I drive the Panamera more often, it\u2019s interesting how the battery life differs even between the same keys.<\/p>\n<p>So this time, I decided to try replacing the battery myself without asking for my husband\u2019s help.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">Replacing the Porsche Key Battery!<\/h3>\n<p>When it comes to replacing the Panamera\u2019s battery, the first question is &#8220;<strong>What kind of button battery should I prepare?<\/strong>&#8221; At times like this, the owner\u2019s manual is the go-to resource. I looked up the Panamera\u2019s manual online and found:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">For battery replacement, please use (CR 2032, 3 V).<\/p>\n<p>I immediately went to a 100-yen shop and bought the specified button battery. Then, just to be safe, I had my husband watch over me at home as I followed the manual to replace the battery.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14249\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/\u30b9\u30af\u30ea\u30fc\u30f3\u30b7\u30e7\u30c3\u30c8-2019-09-21-18.21.11-800x563.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"563\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14250\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/\u30b9\u30af\u30ea\u30fc\u30f3\u30b7\u30e7\u30c3\u30c8-2019-09-21-18.21.36-800x565.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"565\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\">1. Remove the Emergency Key<\/h4>\n<p>First, you remove the part called the emergency key, but it\u2019s quite stiff. When I said, &#8220;<strong>No way, I can\u2019t do this!<\/strong>&#8221; my husband replied, &#8220;<strong>Come on, it definitely opens!<\/strong>&#8221; We tried several times, but because my nails are quite long, I couldn\u2019t use the pads of my fingers, and using my nails felt like they might break off.<\/p>\n<p>Worried about breaking my nails, I ended up asking my husband for help right from the start (-_-). He also said,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">Yeah, this is really stiff. Mine opened much more easily though.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe it depends on the key.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14258\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/\u30b9\u30af\u30ea\u30fc\u30f3\u30b7\u30e7\u30c3\u30c8-2019-09-22-16.52.09-800x529.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"529\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\">2. Remove the Key Housing<\/h4>\n<p>Next, remove the housing of the driver key by pulling it left and right. This is also quite stiff. Although I\u2019m a woman, I have strong grip and arm strength and am confident in arm wrestling <span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(not sure if that matters, lol)<\/span>, so I was sure I could open it, but again, my long nails made it impossible to get a good grip.<\/p>\n<p>Once again, I had my husband do it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14259\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/\u30b9\u30af\u30ea\u30fc\u30f3\u30b7\u30e7\u30c3\u30c8-2019-09-22-16.52.33-800x530.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"530\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14253\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_0254-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\">3. Remove the Battery Cover and Replace the Battery<\/h4>\n<p>Then, <strong>turn the battery cover counterclockwise to remove it and take out the button battery.<\/strong> After swapping the battery, just reattach the battery cover and snap the left and right parts of the driver key housing back on, and you\u2019re done.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14254\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_0255-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14252\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/IMG_0250-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The process itself is simple and doesn\u2019t require superhuman strength, so I think women can replace the battery on their own.
