Huh, only now? (-_-)<\/span><\/p>\n My Twitter handle is “Mina – Porsche Blogger<\/strong>,” but I chose that name simply to make it clear that I write about Porsche<\/strong>, not because I really saw myself as a blogger.<\/p>\n When I think of bloggers, I picture famous mom bloggers<\/strong> or people like Ikeda Hayato<\/strong>\u2014those who are almost celebrities. I always thought I was completely different from them.<\/p>\n For me, blogging was just a way for someone like me, who relatively enjoys writing, to share my Porsche life<\/strong>.<\/p>\n However, lately, many people around me have pointed out that I really am a blogger in the common sense<\/strong>, and I\u2019ve come to accept that fact. (A bit late, I know! lol)<\/span><\/p>\n So today, I want to talk about the computer I use as a blogger. The computer I usually write my blog on is a MacBook Air<\/strong>. Ten years ago, I was a complete Windows fan, but when my beloved PC broke down, I thought,<\/p>\n People with Macs look like they know what they\u2019re doing and look cool. Maybe I should try a Mac once.<\/p>\n I bought one on a whim, and since then, I haven\u2019t been able to go back.<\/p>\n Back then, I often had to create presentation materials for work, and I was captivated by how great Apple\u2019s Keynote presentation software<\/strong> felt to use and how stylish the presentations looked.<\/p>\n That said, recently I\u2019ve had fewer chances to make presentations, and I mostly use my computer for writing blogs, checking emails, and other miscellaneous tasks<\/strong>. So, for a blogger like me, this MacBook Air alone should have been more than enough.<\/p>\n But guess what? I just bought an iMac (desktop)!<\/p>\n The trigger was video editing, which I started in July. Video files are huge<\/strong>, so as I stored footage on my computer, the free space quickly ran out. The first time I made a video, I ran out of storage so fast that I couldn\u2019t save the video (and lost the data once)<\/span>. My husband gave me a 250GB external HDD (hard disk drive)<\/span>, and I managed to keep editing.<\/p>\n But that HDD filled up quickly too\u2026 so next, I bought a 2TB HDD on Amazon.<\/strong> With 2TB, I have plenty of space for now. Still, HDDs require care.<\/p>\n I was always worried, \u201cWhat if the data gets lost from a shock?\u201d<\/strong> or \u201cWhat if the kids drop it while playing?\u201d<\/strong> Plus, it\u2019s annoying to carry the HDD around the room while connected to the computer. Seeing this, my husband said,<\/p>\n Seriously, no one edits videos on a MacBook Air laptop (lol). You should definitely get a desktop iMac. It has more storage, you can add more when you buy it, and editing on a big screen with a mouse is way easier!<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s true, but it\u2019s expensive\u2026 (-_-)\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n My husband would probably buy an iMac without hesitation, but for me, spending nearly 200,000 yen means I have to think carefully. So for two months, I researched whether it was really worth buying now, if I\u2019d regret it, and which model to get<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Then recently, Apple announced the iPhone 11 but didn\u2019t announce a new iMac (which was expected)<\/span>. After seeing that, I thought, \u201cThere\u2019s no point waiting, I\u2019ll just buy it now!\u201d<\/strong> and decided to purchase.<\/p>\n By the way, I bought:<\/p>\n – 21.5-inch Mac: 142,800 yen (tax excluded) My iMac came all the way from China. It arrived about a week after ordering<\/strong>, much earlier than expected. The box was huge, and when I took it out and put it on my desk, the monitor was bigger than I imagined.<\/p>\n 21.5 inches is plenty. When I turned it on, I was amazed at how beautiful the Retina 4K display<\/strong> was. Even though the MacBook Air\u2019s screen I usually use isn\u2019t bad, it\u2019s no comparison.<\/p>\n Then I tried editing a video on the iMac, and it was incredibly easy.
