Especially on <strong>sunny Sunday mornings, the lookout is filled with a stunning array of classic and modern sports cars<\/strong>, creating a unique and exciting atmosphere in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Just the other day, there was a gathering of rare cars you hardly ever see in town, like the new Porsche 911 (992), some rare air-cooled Porsches, and a BMW Z8.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14704\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMG_5137-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14705\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMG_0352-800x533.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14710\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMG_5134-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14709\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMG_5140-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We parked at the lookout and chatted with some of the owners, and I was struck once again by how <strong>truly passionate everyone is about cars<\/strong>. Of course, other topics come up, but still, <strong>about 90% of the conversation revolves around cars\u2014discussing things like \u201cHow does that model actually drive?\u201d or \u201cThis shop is really great.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14707\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMG_5138-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You\u2019d think after talking every week we\u2019d run out of things to say, but that never happens (laughs).<\/p>\n<p>While everyone wants to <strong>sleep in on their day off<\/strong>, these folks willingly get up early and make the effort to gather here. The power of a hobby is truly incredible.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">The Behavior of a Car-Loving Husband<\/h3>\n<p>Needless to say, my husband is a car fanatic who lives by the motto \u201cNo Car, No Life.\u201d Usually, when he\u2019s at home, his \u201cswitch\u201d is off <span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(sorry, lol)<\/span>, but <strong>when it comes to cars, his motivation switch flips on instantly, and he transforms into a completely different person.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s like the difference between \u201c551 pork buns being available or not!\u201d <span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(Only Kansai locals might get this\u2026)<\/span> To summarize, it goes something like this:<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\">\u2460 He Wakes Up Early for Cars<\/h4>\n<p>On weekdays, my husband usually wakes up just in time to take our eldest daughter to kindergarten, quickly eats a rice ball in about 30 seconds, and rushes off to work. On weekends, he tends to sleep in and often dozes off on the sofa during the day.<\/p>\n<p>But <strong>on days when he goes touring or to the Royu Driveway, it\u2019s a different story.<\/strong> He sets an alarm, and no matter if the family is still asleep or not, he\u2019s up and out the door before 6 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m always amazed\u2014actually, I laugh\u2014at how a hobby can change a person\u2019s behavior so much.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14708\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMG_5139-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\">\u2461 He Never Finds Car-Related Tasks a Hassle<\/h4>\n<p>My husband is pretty lazy, and if I suggest going somewhere on the weekend, he usually says:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">Nope. Looks crowded and it\u2019s a hassle (-_-)<\/p>\n<p>and usually doesn\u2019t go. Even if I mention, \u201cHey, I heard a new place opened nearby,\u201d he replies:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">Oh, really? Didn\u2019t know. Not going (-_-)<\/p>\n<p>and the conversation ends there.<\/p>\n<p>But when it comes to cars, not a hint of laziness shows up\u2026 <strong>he carefully washes his beloved car even on hot summer days and cold winter days, puts on the car cover properly, and reads every car magazine about his car so thoroughly that the pages get worn out.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When I say, \u201cHow do you manage to do such a hassle-filled thing?\u201d he replies with a line that sounds like a Tamori quote:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">\u201cOf course! This isn\u2019t work for me! I\u2019m serious about it!\u201d<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\">\u2462 His Memory Improves When It Comes to Cars<\/h4>\n<p>My husband struggles to remember people\u2019s faces, which causes him trouble at work. But when it comes to cars, he can instantly identify the model even from a distance.<\/p>\n<p>Even models that look identical to me, he can spot subtle differences and has an excellent memory for car information.<\/p>\n<p>I think it\u2019s usually easier to recognize people\u2019s faces than cars, but for him, it seems to be the other way around.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">Cars Are Not My Hobby<\/h3>\n<p>On the other hand, I don\u2019t really have a hobby, so sometimes I\u2019m amazed by my husband but also a little envious.<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">\u201cWait, Mina, isn\u2019t your hobby cars? Isn\u2019t it a shared hobby for you and your husband?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some might ask, but for me, \u201ccars\u201d are not really a hobby.<\/p>\n<p>Going to Royu, buying and practicing with a manual transmission car myself, researching various car topics\u2026 it\u2019s all <strong>for this Porsche blog.<\/strong> To put it nicely, it\u2019s more like a <strong>journalistic investigation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14749\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMG_0354-800x533.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Because I want to make this Porsche blog better and higher quality, I dig deep into questions like <strong>\u201cWhat does this mean?\u201d or \u201cHow is this car?\u201d<\/strong> But honestly, if I weren\u2019t writing this blog, I probably wouldn\u2019t go that far.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve tried snowboarding, golf, bass guitar, scuba diving\u2014anything I was invited to\u2014but I quickly lost interest and stopped.<\/p>\n<p>Also, in my private life, I don\u2019t drink alcohol, don\u2019t like the outdoors, don\u2019t know much about watches, bags, or fashion, have no particular food preferences, and am not interested in interior design or DIY.<\/p>\n<p>Sigh\u2026 what a boring person I am\u2026 (-_-)<\/p>\n<p>So, I honestly envy my husband and other car lovers who have something they can be truly passionate about in life.
