911 Cabriolet, Finally<\/h3>\n

Time has flown, and the delivery day for our 911 Cabriolet (992) is finally approaching.<\/strong> In early August, my husband completed the final delivery procedures, so now all that\u2019s left is for the ship carrying the 911 Cabriolet to arrive at the port, followed by dealer inspections, and then the car will be safely delivered.<\/p>\n

With that in mind, I\u2019ve put together a rough timeline from order to delivery.<\/p>\n

I thought we started considering the 911 Cabriolet at the beginning of the year, and in my mind, I believed we had placed the order by the end of January<\/strong>. But looking back at the emails between our dealer contact, Mr. H, and my husband, it turns out that wasn\u2019t the case at all. Memory can be so unreliable, haha.<\/p>\n

\u30fbEnd of February: Ordered 911 Cabriolet
\n\u30fbMid-March: Porsche factory closed due to COVID-19 (no clear timeline for reopening or delivery)
\n\u30fbEnd of March: Final specs decided and dealer contacted
\n\u30fbEnd of June: Dealer informed us that production had started at the factory
\n\u30fbEnd of July: Dealer informed us that production was complete and the car was on the ship
\n\u30fbEarly August: Final delivery procedures completed
\n\u30fbAround September 10: Expected arrival at dealer
\n\u30fbMid-September: Expected delivery<\/p>\n

That\u2019s roughly how it went.<\/p>\n

Because of COVID-19, there was a time when I thought, “Maybe it won\u2019t arrive until next year<\/strong>,” but Porsche\u2019s factory reopened sooner than expected, and luckily, our dealer\u2019s production slot for the Cabriolet came up at just the right time, so it looks like the delivery will happen sooner than I had hoped.<\/p>\n
