I don\u2019t usually drive the Porsche in heavy rain. I do take the Panamera to the car wash sometimes, but I\u2019ve never really noticed the headlights fogging up.\u201d Then my husband said,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">Well, if you don\u2019t pay close attention, you might miss it. In our case, the Panamera\u2019s rear fogs up. The Boxster\u2019s headlights fog up. The GT3 hasn\u2019t been washed much, so I haven\u2019t seen fogging there yet. I feel like our Porsche headlights are relatively resistant to fogging, but I guess it depends on the individual car.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Experiencing_Headlight_Fogging_on_the_Boxster\"><\/span>Experiencing Headlight Fogging on the Boxster<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The other day, my husband and I happened to have an errand to run together in the Boxster, but <strong>it was pouring rain from the morning, and we ended up driving through a downpour severe enough to trigger warnings.<\/strong> My husband said,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">This is incredible! It\u2019s the first time I\u2019ve encountered rain this heavy in the Boxster. If this had been the GT3 with cup tires, it would have been pretty scary. Whenever Mina and I go somewhere, it seems to rain or storm, haha.<\/p>\n<p>He was laughing as he drove, but even with the wipers on full blast, the view ahead was completely white and hard to see\u2014it was quite frightening. I was glad I wasn\u2019t driving\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18924\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_8325.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1198\" height=\"898\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18925\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_8330.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1198\" height=\"898\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After driving about 40 minutes in this heavy rain, we parked the Boxster in the destination parking lot and checked the headlights\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18926\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_8331.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1198\" height=\"898\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18927\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_8332.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1198\" height=\"898\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">They\u2019re fogged up\u2026!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>So this is what headlight fogging looks like!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18928\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_8375.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Even touching the outside didn\u2019t clear the fog, so it was definitely inside the headlights.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Fogging_Disappeared_Quickly\"><\/span>The Fogging Disappeared Quickly<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Later, after finishing our errand and heading home, the rain had stopped, so we checked the headlights again\u2014and the fogging had completely disappeared.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18929\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_8369.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1198\" height=\"898\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18930\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_8370.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1198\" height=\"898\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to driving on the highway in the heavy rain, the Boxster\u2019s body was also quite clean (laughs).<\/p>\n<p>When I said, \u201cSo headlight fogging disappears pretty quickly, huh,\u201d my husband replied,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">Yeah, it\u2019s not like water got inside the headlights\u2014it\u2019s just condensation caused by the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the headlights. Actually, <strong>if you\u2019re going to drive a Porsche, you shouldn\u2019t sweat the small stuff like that.<\/strong> If you don\u2019t like it, you should just buy a Lexus or a domestic car.<br \/>\nBut if you ever get serious water droplets inside the headlights, then you should visit the dealer. Usually, a little fogging or some droplets won\u2019t require replacement.<\/p>\n<p>I see (laughs).
