I Got the Full Story!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"style3a\">The Cars My Husband Has His Eye On<\/h3>\n<p>A little while ago, my husband and I were talking about how \u201c<strong>the Panamera\u2019s inspection is due next year, so we\u2019ll need to start thinking about what to replace it with around then.<\/strong>\u201d He mentioned, \u201cI\u2019d like to try a base Panamera, and I\u2019m curious about the facelifted Panamera<span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\"> (not yet announced)<\/span>, too. But if we\u2019re looking at that, maybe a Taycan could work as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"FQt6A5B94u\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/taycan-after-panamera\/\">\u592b\u304c\u30d1\u30ca\u30e1\u30fc\u30e9\u306e\u4e57\u308a\u63db\u3048\u3092\u8003\u3048\u59cb\u3081\u305f &#8211; \u6b21\u306e\u5019\u88dc\u306f\u30dd\u30eb\u30b7\u30a7 \u30bf\u30a4\u30ab\u30f3\uff1f<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"\u201c\u592b\u304c\u30d1\u30ca\u30e1\u30fc\u30e9\u306e\u4e57\u308a\u63db\u3048\u3092\u8003\u3048\u59cb\u3081\u305f \u2013 \u6b21\u306e\u5019\u88dc\u306f\u30dd\u30eb\u30b7\u30a7 \u30bf\u30a4\u30ab\u30f3\uff1f\u201d \u2014 \u30dd\u30eb\u30b7\u30a7\u304c\u308f\u304c\u5bb6\u306b\u3084\u3063\u3066\u304d\u305f - \u30aa\u30fc\u30ca\u30fc\u30ba\u30d6\u30ed\u30b0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/taycan-after-panamera\/embed\/#?secret=peBkNmkzln#?secret=FQt6A5B94u\" data-secret=\"FQt6A5B94u\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>After that, though, <strong>we had the Boxster\u2019s service and some air-cooled Porsche maintenance to take care of,<\/strong> so the subject never came up again for about a month. Then, the other day, my husband said:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">Ever since I got my first car, a Legend Coupe<span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\"> (a car my father passed down to me)<\/span>, I\u2019ve always been drawn to luxury coupes. Even back then, I used to think, \u201c<strong>One day, I\u2019d love to own a Mercedes-Benz SL or CL.<\/strong>\u201d<br \/>\nI finally got my wish a few years ago and owned an SL500 and an AMG S63 Coupe. That really reminded me just how much I love them: \u201c<strong>Luxury coupes really are something special.<\/strong>\u201d<br \/>\nBut our current lineup is all sporty models\u2014we don\u2019t have a luxury coupe. So <strong>adding a luxury coupe to the mix<\/strong> might be <strong>a nice idea.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That was news to me.<\/p>\n<p>I replied, \u201c<strong>A luxury coupe sounds great, but I\u2019m not keen on an SL.<\/strong> We already have enough two-seaters\u2026 <strong>Realistically, we\u2019d be replacing the Panamera, which is due for its inspection.<\/strong> If we got rid of the Panamera and ended up with nothing but two-seaters, I\u2019d be left with only the 320i for getting around with our two daughters.\u201d <span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(What a luxurious problem to have\u2026)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">That\u2019s true. In that case, an S-Class might be a better fit. But <strong>this time, maybe an S450 or S560 rather than an AMG.<\/strong> I\u2019m just not that keen on the interior of the current S-Class. I\u2019d prefer a cleaner, more symmetrical layout with the straight-line design of the older models.<\/p>\n<p>That makes sense\u2026 Now that he says it, I can see what he means.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">We\u2019re Tempted by British Cars, Too!<\/h3>\n<p>I love our Panamera so much that I\u2019d hate to switch to another car only to find myself thinking, \u201c<strong>Ah, the Panamera really was better after all\u2026<\/strong>\u201d every time I drove it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">When we had the AMG S63 Coupe, I\u2019d compare how it drove with the Panamera every time I got behind the wheel. So if we\u2019re going to do this, I\u2019d rather have a luxury coupe that\u2019s <strong>so completely different from the Panamera that there\u2019s no point comparing the two.<\/strong> Then I might be able to make peace with replacing the Panamera.<\/p>\n<p>That was my answer. Then my husband said:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">Come to think of it, my younger brother recently test-drove a Bentley Bentayga and said it was fantastic. <strong>Bentley just launched the new Continental GT, didn\u2019t it?<\/strong> I\u2019m kind of curious about the W12 version. It sounds amazing to have all that W12 power and just cruise along in total comfort.<br \/>\nWe\u2019ve never had a British car in our lineup, so maybe we should go and take one for a test drive.<\/p>\n<p>And with that, he dropped the bombshell.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Wait\u2014Bentley?! I\u2019d never imagined one becoming part of our family\u2019s lineup. But the <strong>Continental GT has a beautiful silhouette<\/strong>, and there\u2019s something about it that reminds me of the Panamera. Before long, I was curious about it, too. Then my husband said:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">At this point, why stop at Bentley? I\u2019d love to try a Rolls-Royce, too. <strong>A Dawn would be amazing.<\/strong> I once got to see an acquaintance\u2019s Dawn on Royu, and the engine note, the quality, the presence\u2014it was all incredible. <strong>Imagine turning up at the kindergarten in a Dawn! lol<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-15490\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/IMG_3679-800x533-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-15491\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/IMG_0030-800x533-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And so on.<\/p>\n<p>Come on\u2026 there\u2019s no way I could pull off a Dawn\u2026 (-_-)<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">There\u2019s no way I could pull up to the kindergarten in a Dawn. People would think, \u201cI wonder what kind of celebrity is driving that,\u201d and then this totally ordinary person would step out! I\u2019d be so embarrassed. (-_-)<\/p>\n<p>After all that, we\u2019re thinking of going to test-drive the Continental GT sometime soon.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">The Cars on His Wish List<\/h3>\n<p>So, for now, these are the cars my husband has his eye on:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">[Bentley] Continental GT W12<br \/>\n[Rolls-Royce] Dawn \/ Wraith<br \/>\n[Porsche]<br \/>\n\u30fbFacelifted 971 Panamera (not yet announced)<br \/>\n\u30fbPorsche Taycan 4S<br \/>\n\u30fb992 (base model)<br \/>\n\u30fbUsed 991.2 Turbo S<br \/>\n\u30fbCayenne Coupe<br \/>\n[BMW] New 3 Series (320i M Sport)<br \/>\n[Mercedes-Benz]<br \/>\n\u30fbNew S-Class Coupe (not yet announced)<br \/>\n\u30fbCurrent SL400<br \/>\n[McLaren] 720S Spider<br \/>\n[Nissan] Nissan Note e-POWER NISMO S<\/p>\n<p>According to my husband:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">There are so many cars I\u2019m interested in. Right now, I\u2019m <strong>really curious about the Continental GT.<\/strong> It could even take the Panamera\u2019s place.<br \/>\n\u2026Then again, for some reason, I\u2019m also interested in the 991.2 Turbo S. <strong>Turbo models tend to depreciate more than GT3 models, but I often hear from owners that they\u2019re very happy with them and that they\u2019re fantastic cars.<\/strong> If we\u2019re talking two-seaters, the McLaren 720S or SL400 would be great, too. Though that would mean adding another car to the fleet! lol<br \/>\nAnd then there\u2019s the Nissan Note e-POWER NISMO. I drove my mom\u2019s base-model <a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/nissan-note-epower\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">e-POWER<\/a> recently, and I really liked it. It\u2019s electric, so it has plenty of torque and is easy to drive. The suspension in particular is great\u2014it doesn\u2019t feel soft and floaty.<br \/>\nBut in the end, I wonder if we\u2019ll settle on another Porsche after all.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s what he said.
