Recently, I wrote a detailed article on the Taycan\u2019s preview event focusing on the exterior and design<\/a>, and now I\u2019m excited to bring you the second part of that series. <\/p>\n

Taycan \/ Interior<\/h3>\n

The Taycan\u2019s interior was designed from scratch with the keywords “digital, clear, and sustainable<\/strong> (environmentally sustainable)<\/span>” in mind. <\/p>\n

Instrument Cluster \/ Center Console<\/h4>\n

The horizontal (horizon-like)<\/span> design of the instrument cluster is striking and is said to evoke the driver-focused layout of the original 911\u2019s gauges. <\/p>\n

\"\" <\/p>\n

Once inside, I felt it was \u201cclassic Porsche at the steering wheel, but fully digital in the instrument cluster\u201d<\/strong>, which gave a unique impression. The large central speed display is very easy to read, which is a nice touch. <\/p>\n

The steering wheel on the display model was the \u201cbasic version,\u201d but you can also opt for the GT Sport Steering Wheel<\/strong>. Personally, I prefer the GT Sport Steering Wheel. <\/p>\n

If you add the Sport Chrono Package, mode changes are controlled by the familiar dial on the steering wheel, just like in other Porsches. <\/p>\n

\"\" <\/p>\n

The center console is very clean and minimalist, featuring a display beneath the touch panel and air vents that looks like an iPad. <\/p>\n

\"\" <\/p>\n

There are almost no buttons; everything is operated by touch, just like on a smartphone or tablet.<\/strong> For example, you can adjust the air conditioning temperature by tapping the up\/down display or by swiping\u2014just like on a smartphone. <\/p>\n

According to Alex, \u201cI think the touch panel controls are even easier to use than those in the Panamera.\u201d<\/strong> <\/p>\n

Additionally, the Taycan offers an option to install a display on the passenger side, allowing the passenger to control navigation and other settings. <\/p>\n

\"\" <\/p>\n

Also, when you open the cup holder section in the center, there\u2019s a small storage space inside with USB ports. I wonder if this is an optional feature. <\/p>\n

\"\" <\/p>\n

Seats \/ Materials<\/h4>\n

The Taycan is an electric vehicle developed and manufactured with the goal of being carbon neutral<\/strong> (meaning the amount of CO2 emitted equals the amount absorbed in its lifecycle)<\/span>. It is built at Porsche\u2019s factory in Stuttgart, where the roof is planted with greenery and renewable energy is used, ensuring environmental considerations throughout the entire production process.<\/strong> <\/p>\n

In line with this, the Taycan is the first Porsche to offer a leather-free interior option. The seats use \u201cOLEA,\u201d a club leather made from olive leaves. <\/p>\n

\"\" <\/p>\n

The floor uses ECONYL, a 100% recycled nylon fiber.<\/strong> ECONYL is a well-known material also used by Prada and Adidas. <\/p>\n

\"\" <\/p>\n

The material that looks like Alcantara is actually \u201cRace-Tec,\u201d which reduces CO2 emissions by 80% compared to conventional materials.<\/strong> Truly fitting for an EV and sustainable design. <\/p>\n

\"\" <\/p>\n

Despite using these materials, the high-quality feel is impressively maintained. <\/p>\n

Accent Package<\/h4>\n

Gold accents are found throughout the Taycan\u2019s interior. <\/p>\n

\"\" <\/p>\n

When I said, \u201cThe gold looks really cool!<\/strong>,\u201d Alex explained: <\/p>\n

The Taycan offers an Accent Package<\/strong>. The gold-looking accents are actually a color called Neodymium<\/strong>, which is applied to the cup holder rings, door parts, air vents, and other areas to add a stylish design accent.<\/p>\n

Rear Seats<\/h4>\n

Compared to the Panamera, the rear seats feel honestly a bit tight. The Panamera\u2019s rear seats offer more legroom. <\/p>\n

\"\" <\/p>\n

However, the ceiling is higher than it looks from outside.<\/strong> My husband, who is 178 cm tall, said, \u201cIt feels a bit enclosed, but it\u2019s totally fine.<\/strong>\u201d <\/p>\n

\"\" <\/p>\n

When I asked Alex about his height, he said, \u201cI\u2019m 181 cm tall. Not 180 cm, but 181 cm. That 1 cm is important! Haha.<\/strong>\u201d He actually spent about an hour riding in the rear seat and said he didn\u2019t feel tired at all. <\/p>\n

He explained the reason: <\/p>\n

Because electric vehicles have their motors mounted low under the vehicle, rear seats tend to be shallow.<\/strong> However, the Taycan cleverly lowers the floor position to allow more legroom, making the rear seats comfortable.<\/p>\n

I see! Since I have short legs, it\u2019s no problem for me (lol), but I think it\u2019s amazing that such attention to detail went into the design. <\/p>\n

Trunk and Cargo Capacity<\/h4>\n

My first impression when opening the Taycan\u2019s trunk was that it\u2019s smaller than the Panamera\u2019s.<\/strong> (Sorry for always comparing it to the Panamera!)<\/span> The depth seems decent, but the height is limited. <\/p>\n

\"\" <\/p>\n

According to the catalog, the Taycan Turbo\u2019s rear trunk capacity is 366L (Taycan 4S is 407L)<\/span>, which is smaller than the Panamera Turbo\u2019s 500L trunk. <\/p>\n

However, the Taycan also has a front trunk. Since the Taycan doesn\u2019t have an engine, it can offer trunks both front and rear.<\/strong> <\/p>\n

I thought, \u201cThat\u2019s amazing!<\/strong>\u201d and asked Alex to open the front hood wide\u2026 <\/p>\n

\"\" <\/p>\n

\u2026Oh, it\u2019s smaller than I expected\u2026(*_*) lol<\/span> <\/p>\n

The capacity is 81L. I tried putting in my bag, which just barely doesn\u2019t fit a 13.3-inch MacBook Air, and it looked like this. <\/p>\n

\"\" <\/p>\n

By the way, opening the lids on both sides reveals small compartments suitable for basic car wash supplies. <\/p>\n
