When he looked inside, it apparently said:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">&#8220;Buy a Porsche at 33 years old.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_17003\" style=\"width: 1290px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17003\" class=\"size-large wp-image-17003\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/537BDEA6-4BDD-4B41-AE72-1EA91B3E3CA7-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"Goal list\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-17003\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">My husband\u2019s actual notebook. It was written on the last page.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(It looks like it says \u201cPorche\u201d&#8230; and some kanji are a bit off, too<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\"> lol)<\/span> In response, my husband said,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">I actually bought my first Porsche <span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(981 Boxster GTS)<\/span> a little later, so the age is a bit off, but the goal of buying a Porsche in my thirties was definitely achieved. Although I had completely forgotten I even wrote that goal down lol.<\/p>\n<p>He also said that back when he wrote that goal, his monthly salary was about 200,000 yen, but he never doubted for a second that <strong>he would be able to buy a Porsche in the future.<\/strong> He never once thought, &#8220;<strong>I might not be able to buy one.<\/strong>&#8221; He only imagined a future where he absolutely could buy one.<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">When I said, &#8220;It\u2019s amazing you could believe <strong>you\u2019d definitely be able to buy a Porsche<\/strong> while living alone on 200,000 yen a month,&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>he replied,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">Yeah&#8230; normally you wouldn\u2019t think so, but I truly never doubted it. Thinking back, it all started with my university entrance exam. Getting into a university I\u2019d always thought was impossible and way out of reach was a huge success for me. From then on, I strongly believed that <strong>things aren\u2019t as hard as people say if you make the right effort in the right direction.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My husband went to a high school that wasn\u2019t exactly known for academic excellence, and he was near the bottom of his class with a national deviation score around 30-40 <span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(he admits he barely studied during those three years)<\/span>. He failed every university entrance exam he took, so after graduating high school, he spent a year at a prep school. There, the classes were incredibly interesting and easy to understand, and studying became fun. His <strong>deviation score nearly doubled compared to before, and the following year he was able to enter the university he aimed for.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That success became a major turning point and had a big impact on his life. By the way, he described his prep school experience like this:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">I feel like I was born again at 19 lol. I learned a lot that year, but <strong>the biggest thing was that I stopped being fooled by \u201ccommon sense\u201d and \u201cnormal.\u201d<\/strong> When I was still in high school, I was intimidated by the brand of a prestigious university, scared by the acceptance rates, and very concerned about the \u201ccommon sense\u201d that aiming for that university with my deviation score was reckless. Then I met a prep school teacher who I still consider a mentor, and he said, &#8220;<strong>Success stories don\u2019t spread \u2018common sense\u2019 or \u2018normal.\u2019 Why listen to people who haven\u2019t succeeded?<\/strong>&#8221; That changed my mindset dramatically. I studied the thinking, philosophy, and behavior patterns of successful people. I stopped worrying about acceptance rates and deviation scores, focused on improving my own academic ability, and just aimed for perfect scores. One day, I realized I had reached a much higher level. I was standing in a place I once thought was impossible to reach, way out of my league. That experience made me realize that <strong>\u201ccommon sense\u201d and \u201cnormal\u201d can be scary. From now on, I want to live true to myself without being misled by those ideas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I thought, wow\u2014I wish I\u2019d met a teacher like that too (laughs). And it\u2019s true that when you have a big success or an experience that changes your values, it gives you the confidence to keep challenging yourself.<\/p>\n<p>Hearing this again made me realize once more that <strong>to succeed, it\u2019s extremely important to surround yourself with successful people.<\/strong><\/p>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse; width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 100%;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/the-important-thing-to-get-porsche\/2\/\"><strong>Next page \u2192 What\u2019s important to achieve your big goals?<\/strong><\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">I Thought I\u2019d Never Be Able to Buy a Porsche<\/h3>\n<p>Looking back, I\u2019ve never had such a strong success experience in my life. I was reasonably good at studying through elementary, middle, and high school, so I didn\u2019t attend prep school or cram school for university entrance exams. I studied on my own and was able to enter a fairly competitive university.<\/p>\n<p>After that, I had some small setbacks, but I was able to work happily as a member of society, produce results, be recognized by my company, and get raises. Things were going well until I got cocky and made a reckless challenge by starting a business at 27 without knowing much about it, which led to the biggest failure of my life.<\/p>\n<p>During the 10 years after starting my business, my confidence completely collapsed (lol).<\/p>\n<p>Of course, the experiences I gained during those 10 years are priceless and have become part of me and my assets, but my confidence was shattered to pieces, leaving a huge hole inside me.<\/p>\n<p>When I started this Porsche blog two and a half years ago, I was at my lowest confidence. I wrote every day thinking, &#8220;<strong>No one will read this blog anyway.<\/strong>&#8221; <span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(Maybe that relaxed attitude actually helped.)<\/span> But after a while, the number of readers grew steadily, and I felt I had to take the blog more seriously. I started writing that &#8220;<strong>I want to buy a Porsche myself someday.<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But to be honest, even as I wrote that, I kept thinking, &#8220;<strong>There\u2019s no way, I could never afford a Porsche.<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-16969\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/IMG_1028-1280x854.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"854\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When I was in my twenties, even without enough income, I might have bought one on a whim and momentum, but after struggling financially post-startup, I didn\u2019t have an ounce of courage to take that kind of risk.<\/p>\n<p>So while writing this Porsche blog, I kept thinking that &#8220;<strong>buying a Porsche on my own is a distant, unreachable dream, way out of my league.<\/strong>&#8221; And time just passed by.<\/p>\n<p>However, around last fall, my mindset began to change. Thanks to the blog\u2019s growth and the many connections I made, I gradually started to think, &#8220;<strong>Maybe I could actually buy a Porsche someday.<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The blog\u2019s growth was partly luck, but also thanks to my husband\u2019s incredible support and the environment he\u2019s created. Still, <strong>I\u2019m happy and confident because I\u2019ve put in the effort and faced it seriously, and the results are steadily coming.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Until now, my \u201c<strong>confidence savings<\/strong>\u201d was zero or even negative, but now it\u2019s slowly growing, and I feel like I can grin a little when I look at the balance in my mental bankbook (lol).<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">Buying a Porsche by 40<\/h3>\n<p>Since starting the blog, <strong>meeting and interacting with many Porsche owners has brought a big change in me.<\/strong> I used to think &#8220;<strong>buying a Porsche is outrageous, a dream way out of reach,<\/strong>&#8221; but after spending time with people who have bought and replaced several Porsches, I started to mistakenly think, &#8220;<strong>Hey, maybe buying a Porsche isn\u2019t that hard, maybe I can do it too.<\/strong>&#8221; lol<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-16970\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/IMG_1014-1280x854.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"854\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Also, I used to think &#8220;<strong>you have to pay for a Porsche in full cash<\/strong>,&#8221; so I thought &#8220;<strong>there\u2019s no way I could ever pay 15 or 20 million yen in cash.<\/strong>&#8221; But learning that many Porsche owners buy theirs with loans made me think, &#8220;<strong>Oh, that\u2019s about the monthly payment? If that\u2019s the case, I could probably manage.<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>All this was possible because I surrounded myself with Porsche owners and gained information and a sense of what\u2019s possible. For me, it was basically:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">&#8220;<strong>Building up small successes to regain confidence<\/strong>&#8221; and &#8220;<strong>immersing myself among Porsche owners<\/strong>&#8221; changed my mindset from &#8216;there\u2019s no way I can buy a Porsche&#8217; to &#8216;maybe I can buy one.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>I say that like I\u2019m an expert, but I still haven\u2019t bought a Porsche yet (-_-).<\/p>\n<p>For now, I want to finish paying off my BMW quickly and then work hard to buy a Porsche next. One thing I\u2019m sure of is:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">To achieve your big goals, it\u2019s important not to be bound by common sense, and on top of that, to learn and steadily apply the <strong>right methods and directions of effort<\/strong> from successful people.<\/p>\n<p>So I want to keep learning a lot from my husband and other Porsche owners around me and keep pushing toward my goal of buying a Porsche myself.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m 37 now, almost 38, so hopefully I can buy one by 40.
