With this level of equipment, it\u2019s truly deserving of the title \u201cultra-comfortable 911 Turbo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, <strong>what truly captivated me about this car wasn\u2019t its lavish features<\/strong>. The real value lay in the engine character and driving performance I experienced behind the wheel.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_Natural_Power_Feel_That_Surpasses_the_Turbo_S\"><\/span>A Natural Power Feel That Surpasses the Turbo S<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>I\u2019ve driven the 992 early-model Turbo S before, but this Turbo felt overwhelmingly easier to drive.<\/p>\n<p>I recall feeling the same way with the 991 generation.<\/p>\n<p>While the launch feel is nearly identical, the mid-range acceleration and torque delivery are much more natural. To put it simply, it feels like a large-displacement naturally aspirated engine. The way torque smoothly builds from low to high revs is exactly that sensation.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-41700\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/IMG_6556-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"992 Turbo instrument panel\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Looking at the numbers\u2014580 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque\u2014it might seem intimidating at first.<\/p>\n<p>But in reality, you can enjoy revving the engine smoothly. Of course, the Turbo S offers more aggressive and violent acceleration, but that\u2019s only in direct comparison. This Turbo also boasts an exceptional rev feel and smooth power delivery. <strong>Its performance is on a level that leaves most other cars far behind.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Dual_Personality_That_Makes_Driving_Fun\"><\/span>The Dual Personality That Makes Driving Fun<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The charm of the 911 Turbo lies in its overwhelming dual nature.<\/p>\n<p>In Normal mode, it cruises winding roads like the perfect date car\u2014calm and considerate for passengers. Switch to Sport or Sport Plus, and it transforms into a beast reminiscent of a GT3. This duality is a hallmark of Porsche\u2019s Turbo models, shared by the Panamera and Cayenne as well.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-41692\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/IMG_6568-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"992 Turbo\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sport Plus mode excels at maintaining engine revs precisely.<\/p>\n<p>With a 580-horsepower turbocharged engine, you might expect jerky behavior or overpowering acceleration that\u2019s hard to manage\u2014but none of that happens. Even holding 5,000 or 6,000 rpm, it feels <strong>like revving a beautifully smooth large-displacement naturally aspirated engine<\/strong>. The engine sound is superb\u2014no noisy mechanical clatter, just clean exhaust notes. The subtle burbling when lifting off the throttle is equally delightful.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%E2%80%9CNothing_Added_Nothing_Taken_Away%E2%80%9D_%E2%80%94_Perfect_Balance\"><\/span>\u201cNothing Added, Nothing Taken Away\u201d \u2014 Perfect Balance<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Riding this Turbo reminded me of Suntory Yamazaki whiskey\u2019s famous tagline: <strong>\u201cNothing added, nothing taken away.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 911 Turbo embodies the pure essence of the 911, capturing the core of the Turbo series. <strong>The Turbo S is essentially a more heavily armed version designed to compete on the track.<\/strong> But this Turbo is perfectly <strong>focused on street driving<\/strong>, offering a more approachable experience.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-41697\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/IMG_6559-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"992 Turbo wheels\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This philosophy is clear in the ride quality as well.<\/p>\n<p>While the Turbo S comes standard with Sports PASM (sports chassis), the Turbo uses the normal PASM. Sports PASM might lower the car and look better, but the Turbo\u2019s setup suits its character and is undeniably more fun to drive. It\u2019s supple with ample suspension travel, yet not too soft. Switch to Sport Plus, and the chassis tightens up, delivering handling close to GT models.<\/p>\n<p>The handling strikes a perfect balance\u2014not too twitchy, not too loose\u2014just <strong>\u201cjust right.\u201d<\/strong> It remains stable no matter how you drive it, yet never feels dull. That\u2019s because you can maintain revs comfortably and safely in a satisfying speed range. <strong>The 911 Turbo gives you the feeling that you\u2019re driving the car, not being driven by it<\/strong>. That\u2019s its true essence.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Choosing_Between_the_Turbo_and_Turbo_S\"><\/span>Choosing Between the Turbo and Turbo S<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Looking at the used market, the Turbo S is overwhelmingly more common.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s understandable. When spending this kind of money, most buyers think, \u201cIf I\u2019m going to do it, I want the S.\u201d I might have chosen the same if I hadn\u2019t driven this Turbo. This is a comparative opinion, but if you genuinely enjoy driving\u2014whether long distances or spirited runs\u2014the Turbo is unquestionably the better choice.
