A 14.25-inch digital instrument cluster and an optional 14.9-inch passenger display are designed to span the entire dashboard in one seamless layout.<\/p>\n<p>Made with OLED technology, the system curves elegantly across the cabin. Markus Auerbach, Head of Interior Design at Porsche Style, says the goal was to \u201charmoniously integrate the newly developed Flow Display while preserving the Cayenne\u2019s essential character.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But it raises a straightforward question: <strong>Is this really the kind of extensive infotainment system Porsche owners want?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-43705\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/img_1-1280x720.jpg\" alt=\"cayenne-display\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Do_Drivers_Want_from_a_Porsche\"><\/span>What Do Drivers Want from a Porsche?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>If a sophisticated infotainment system is what you\u2019re after, there are other options. Tesla offers an infotainment experience in a league of its own, while Mercedes-Benz may be the choice for those seeking luxury.<\/p>\n<p>What people choose Porsche for is <strong>the joy of driving<\/strong>\u2014the power, the feel, and the connection behind the wheel. At least, that\u2019s what matters to core Porsche owners. A giant display isn\u2019t what they\u2019re asking for. In fact, wouldn\u2019t more of them rather see Porsche build a new car with its traditional <strong>five-dial analog instrument cluster<\/strong>? That\u2019s the kind of feature that could prove far more popular.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-3238\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/20170908094922-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\u30dd\u30eb\u30b7\u30a7\u30d1\u30ca\u30e1\u30fc\u30e9\u306e\u30e1\u30fc\u30bf\u30fc\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Current_System_Still_Needs_Work\"><\/span>The Current System Still Needs Work<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Before Porsche focuses on a new infotainment system, it should <strong>fix the bugs in the one it already has<\/strong>. That\u2019s the heartfelt wish of this Porsche owner. Based on what we\u2019re seeing today, both the Taycan and Macan Electric are riddled with bugs.<\/p>\n<p>Images don\u2019t display properly. Turning on the air conditioning through the app can take ages to register\u2014or <strong>simply doesn\u2019t work<\/strong>. Trip data sometimes appears in the app and sometimes doesn\u2019t. Scheduled charging times aren\u2019t honored\u2014or, more accurately, the system\u2019s estimates are so far off that it can\u2019t stick to them. There are also plenty of problems with <strong>Japanese-language text<\/strong>. Contact support, and you get the familiar response: \u201cThere\u2019s an issue with the server back in Germany\u2026\u201d The basics are <strong>far from finished<\/strong>. With things in this state, can Porsche really afford to add an even larger, more complex display system?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-43706\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/img_2-1280x720.jpg\" alt=\"cayenne-display\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Where_Is_Porsche_Headed\"><\/span>Where Is Porsche Headed?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>I can understand why Porsche might adopt this kind of screen and interior when it shares components with Volkswagen. But it\u2019s hard to believe anyone is asking for this\u2014not the true core Porsche customer, at least.<\/p>\n<p>The shift to electric vehicles is unavoidable, and technology has to advance. But <strong>Porsche mustn\u2019t lose sight of what makes it Porsche.<\/strong> The connection between driver and car. The joy of driving. Isn\u2019t that the essence of the brand? Will a huge display or an augmented-reality head-up display enhance that essence? I don\u2019t think so. If anything, the new direction leaves me deeply concerned about where Porsche is headed.<\/p>\n<p>I hope Porsche continues to <strong>build cars in a way only Porsche can<\/strong>.
