Markus Auerbach, Porsche\u2019s Head of Interior Design, explained, \u201cOur goal was to integrate the newly developed Flow Display while preserving the essential character of the Cayenne.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yet, a simple question arises: <strong>Do Porsche owners truly want such a feature-rich infotainment system?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-43705\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/img_1-1280x720.jpg\" alt=\"cayenne-display\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Do_Porsche_Owners_Really_Want\"><\/span>What Do Porsche Owners Really Want?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>If you\u2019re after a sophisticated infotainment system, there are other options. Tesla offers infotainment at a completely different level of refinement. For luxury, Mercedes-Benz is also a strong contender.<\/p>\n<p>What Porsche buyers truly value is the <strong>joy of driving<\/strong>. They appreciate power, feel, and driving dynamics above all else. At least among core Porsche owners, the demand isn\u2019t for massive displays. In fact, many would prefer Porsche to <strong>bring back the traditional analog five-gauge cluster in new models<\/strong>. That would likely be far more popular.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-3238\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/20170908094922-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche Panamera gauges\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Current_Systems_Are_Far_From_Perfect\"><\/span>Current Systems Are Far From Perfect<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Before focusing on new infotainment systems, Porsche should <strong>fix the existing bugs<\/strong>. This is a heartfelt plea from Porsche owners. Both the Taycan and Macan EV currently suffer from numerous glitches.<\/p>\n<p>Images sometimes fail to display correctly. Turning on the air conditioning via the app often takes a long time to reflect, or <strong>doesn\u2019t work at all<\/strong>. Trip data syncs inconsistently with the app. Scheduled charging times are ignored due to poor predictive algorithms. <strong>Japanese language displays are frequently incorrect<\/strong>. When contacting support, the usual response blames \u201cservers in Germany.\u201d Fundamentally, the system is <strong>far from complete<\/strong>. Introducing even larger, more complex displays in this state raises serious concerns.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-43706\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/img_2-1280x720.jpg\" alt=\"cayenne-display\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Where_Is_Porsche_Headed\"><\/span>Where Is Porsche Headed?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>It\u2019s understandable that Porsche shares parts with Volkswagen, leading to similar screens and interiors. But no one really wants this. At least, true core Porsche enthusiasts do not.<\/p>\n<p>The wave of electrification is inevitable, and technological progress is necessary. However, <strong>Porsche must not lose sight of what makes it Porsche.<\/strong> The unity between driver and car. The pure joy of driving. Isn\u2019t that Porsche\u2019s essence? Do massive displays and AR-enabled head-up displays enhance that essence? I don\u2019t believe so. Instead, I find myself deeply concerned about Porsche\u2019s future direction.<\/p>\n<p>Porsche should continue <strong>building cars that only Porsche can make<\/strong>.
