I want that feeling of truly controlling the car myself.\u201d<\/strong> That\u2019s when I find myself scrolling through Car Sensor on my phone.  <\/p>\n<p>Or even with the Taycan, I think, <strong>\u201cI\u2019m driving the 4S Cross Turismo now, but I\u2019d love to try the more powerful \u2018Turbo\u2019 model.\u201d<\/strong> So I start looking for higher-spec versions.  <\/p>\n<p>Late at night, I browse websites, imagining, <strong>\u201cOh, this one\u2019s nice. But it\u2019s a bit pricey\u2026\u201d<\/strong> and let my fantasies run wild.  <\/p>\n<p>However, these daydreams usually end as just that\u2014daydreams. One major reason is the current <strong>used market for Taycans<\/strong>. I bought my 2023 Taycan in January 2024.  <\/p>\n<p>The purchase price was about 17 million yen.  <\/p>\n<p>Two years later, the market has shifted dramatically. For the same model year (though exact matches are rare), <strong>even with just 10,000 kilometers, prices have dropped to the 9 million yen range (which might be typical for regular cars).<\/strong>  <\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve already driven about 35,000 kilometers, so trading it in now would be a big loss, plus I still have a loan to pay off. Reality hits hard. (By the way, I recently wrote about starting a \u201cgoshuin pilgrimage\u201d \u2014 collecting temple stamps \u2014 which has definitely added to my mileage!)  <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-44255\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/G-gi8fibQAc52RM-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"Temple stamp book\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/>  <\/p>\n<p>Faced with this reality, I ask myself: is there really a car I want so badly that I\u2019d give up my beloved Taycan 4S Cross Turismo (which I also love for its off-road package)? The answer is no. So the practical conclusion is that <strong>continuing to drive my current car makes the most sense.<\/strong>  <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Do_I_Really_Need_a_911_Manual_Transmission_for_How_I_Drive\"><\/span>Do I Really Need a 911 Manual Transmission for How I Drive?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Many people around me\u2014and viewers who comment on my weekly YouTube live streams\u2014frequently buy or trade cars (which is impressive and keeps the economy moving!). Every time I see a delivery tweet, I think, <strong>\u201cThat\u2019s so cool, I want one too!\u201d<\/strong>  <\/p>\n<p>But when I calmly analyze my own driving habits and preferences, I realize I don\u2019t actually need a sports car like that. (Honestly, I probably could have figured this out sooner!)  <\/p>\n<p>When I bought the Carrera T manual, it was fueled by a strong desire: <strong>\u201cI want to drive a sports car. Women driving manuals look so cool.\u201d<\/strong> But in reality, I\u2019m not someone who craves winding mountain roads or loves driving all over just for the fun of it.  <\/p>\n<p>Clearly, I don\u2019t need a 911 right now (laughs).  <\/p>\n<p>For everyday city driving, I want a stress-free ride. On the highway, I value having instant torque and power for smooth merging and a stable, enjoyable drive at speed.  <\/p>\n<p>Sure, I run a car blog and want to be part of the car enthusiast community, but honestly, I\u2019m probably closer to the \u201cI just like cars a little\u201d crowd.  <\/p>\n<p>Of course, owning a Porsche motivates me to work hard and adds meaning to my life. Cars remain an important part of who I am.  <\/p>\n<p>But <strong>above all, I love my work, and nothing else currently excites me more.<\/strong> I don\u2019t have many hobbies, so <strong>Porsche serves as a key motivation to do great work.<\/strong>  <\/p>\n<p>If you ask, <strong>\u201cThen why not just get a practical car?\u201d<\/strong> it\u2019s not that simple.  <\/p>\n<p>I want a car that lifts my spirits when I\u2019m behind the wheel and makes me smile when I look back at it in the parking lot. <strong>It has to be a design that excites me.<\/strong>  <\/p>\n<p>Thinking this way always brings me back to the same conclusion: the Taycan is the best choice for me. How many times will I repeat this thought in my life? For now, I\u2019ll focus on working hard, earning well, and once I feel both mentally and financially comfortable, maybe then I\u2019ll consider the next car.  <\/p>\n<p>For now, it\u2019s all about pushing forward in life!
