So, my first real tire replacement was on the Taycan two years ago, when the mileage hit 18,000 km.<\/p>\n<p>Before that, I was embarrassingly unaware that the front and rear tires even had to be different\u2014and I nearly bought four identical tires! (laughs)<\/p>\n<p>It wasn\u2019t until that first tire change that I really began to understand the whole process.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, I waited until the very last moment for about a year and a half. The mileage had reached 37,500 km\u2014a full 20,000 km since the last tire change.<\/p>\n<p>I often find myself surprised, thinking, \u201cDid I really drive that much?\u201d (laughs)<\/p>\n<p>With that kind of mileage, the tire tread naturally wore down. During the vehicle inspection in February this year, I was told, \u201cYou should probably consider changing the front tires soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Around that time, rumors about the Tesla Model Y Long Range (Model YL) possibly launching in Japan stirred up some doubts: \u201cMaybe I should sell the Taycan and switch?\u201d My mind was wavering.<\/p>\n<p>So I tried to hold off on replacing the tires as long as possible. But three months passed in the blink of an eye. Eventually, it was clear: the tires couldn\u2019t wait any longer, and I decided to have them replaced.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-45084\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/\u30b9\u30af\u30ea\u30fc\u30f3\u30b7\u30e7\u30c3\u30c8-2026-05-14-13.53.09-1280x946.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche Taycan tire replacement\" width=\"1280\" height=\"946\" \/>  <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_Close_Call_with_Tire_Availability\"><\/span>A Close Call with Tire Availability<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>I initially tried to find tires online or on Rakuten, but then remembered I had previously purchased tires through the shop directly, so I decided to order the front tires there.<\/p>\n<p>When I requested the tires I wanted (\u201cNF0 Pirelli P ZERO (PZ4) SPORT ELECT Front Tires, size 265\/35 ZR21\u201d), the shop soon informed me only two tires were left in stock from their supplier.<\/p>\n<p>Due to geopolitical issues in the Middle East, if these two sold out, no one knew when new stock would arrive. It\u2019s surprising how global events can impact even tire availability.<\/p>\n<p>Honestly, it was a close call to secure these tires just in time and get the replacements done.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Another_First_This_Time_Actually_Getting_the_Tires_Changed\"><\/span>Another First: This Time Actually Getting the Tires Changed<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Upon arrival, the owner greeted me: \u201cWow, you really got a lot of use out of these! That was cutting it *really* close!\u201d (laughs) I\u2019m definitely going to replace tires earlier from now on.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-45086\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/\u30b9\u30af\u30ea\u30fc\u30f3\u30b7\u30e7\u30c3\u30c8-2026-05-14-13.52.39-1280x932.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche Taycan tire replacement\" width=\"1280\" height=\"932\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The cost for the new tires came to just over 130,000 yen, and with labor included, it was under 140,000 yen total. The whole job took less than an hour and was wrapped up quickly.<\/p>\n<p>So grateful!<\/p>\n<p>Also, regarding the rear tires, there\u2019s still enough tread to drive about another 10,000 km.<\/p>\n<p>It looks like next January I\u2019ll replace the rear tires, followed later by changing all four at once.<\/p>\n<p>(According to the shop, given my driving style, front tires last about 15,000 km, and rear tires around 30,000 km.)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-45085 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/\u30b9\u30af\u30ea\u30fc\u30f3\u30b7\u30e7\u30c3\u30c8-2026-05-14-13.52.17-1280x943.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche Taycan tire replacement\" width=\"1280\" height=\"943\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Earlier I mentioned I was considering switching to the Model YL, but after test-driving one recently, I decided I\u2019ll keep enjoying my Taycan.<\/p>\n<p>Besides, selling now would mean paying extra on the loan (since Taycan resale value is tricky), and above all, I truly love how this Taycan drives.
