What Makes Instagram So Fun<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s almost been two months since I started an Instagram account for our Porsches, and I\u2019ve been posting once or twice a day. For me, the fun of Instagram is how easily it brings people together across nationalities and language barriers.<\/strong> When you see a photo you love, language doesn\u2019t matter.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve had comments from racing drivers overseas, and I actually get more likes from people abroad than from Japanese users. (Maybe using English hashtags helps, too.)<\/span><\/p>\n

My Instagram account is @Mina_Porsche<\/a>. Here\u2019s a look at the feed.<\/p>\n

I still have fewer than 150 followers, but lately quite a few of my photos have been getting more than 100 likes.<\/p>\n

Snapseed: A Photo-Editing App I Recommend<\/h3>\n

When I post photos on Instagram, I use Snapseed, Google\u2019s powerful, feature-packed photo-editing app<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I used to edit photos with another app, but my husband introduced me to Snapseed<\/strong><\/a>, and it\u2019s so good that I haven\u2019t used anything else since. It goes far beyond a basic photo-editing app\u2014it\u2019s almost like Photoshop.<\/p>\n

And it\u2019s free!<\/span><\/p>\n

It has a 3.9-star rating, and here are a couple of reviews:<\/p>\n

\u3010Absolutely fantastic\u3011<\/strong>
\nThis app is so good it makes me want to give it five stars. (I know, this sounds like a fake review, but it isn\u2019t 💦)
\nIt\u2019s the easiest-to-use and most feature-rich photo editor I\u2019ve tried!
\nI\u2019d recommend it both to people who want to do serious editing (that\u2019s me, lol) and to anyone who wants to make stylish photos for Instagram.<\/p>\n

I couldn\u2019t agree more. So, let me show you how to use Snapseed, along with some before-and-after edits.<\/p>\n

Editing an iPhone Photo of Our Panamera<\/h3>\n

For this demo, I\u2019ll edit a photo I took on my iPhone with no special settings.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

When you open Snapseed, you\u2019ll see a selection of looks, such as \u201cPortrait\u201d and \u201cSmooth.\u201d Choose one, and the app automatically changes the look of your image.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what happens when you select \u201cAccentuate.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

It looks a little brighter, doesn\u2019t it? It\u2019s already lovely, but I wanted to edit the image exactly the way I had in mind. So I tapped the \u201cX\u201d to go back and opened the screen where I could make my own adjustments.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll see a whole range of tools.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The tool I use most is Tune Image, in the top-left corner.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Tap Tune Image, and you\u2019ll see\u2026<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u2026a range of adjustment options. Here\u2019s what they do:<\/p>\n

\u25a0Brightness: Makes the image lighter or darker
\n\u25a0Contrast: Makes light areas lighter and dark areas darker, increasing the difference between them to give the photo more definition
\n\u25a0Saturation: Controls color intensity. Higher saturation makes colors more vivid
\n\u25a0Ambiance: Adjusts the overall balance of light. Useful for backlit photos
\n\u25a0Highlights: Makes the bright areas of the image lighter or darker
\n\u25a0Shadows: Makes the dark areas of the image lighter or darker
\n\u25a0Warmth: Adjusts the color temperature of the light, measured in kelvins (K). Lower values give a warmer, redder look; higher values make the light cooler and bluer<\/p>\n

Choose an adjustment, then swipe left or right on the photo to change its value.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Once you\u2019ve made all your adjustments, remember to tap the check mark at the bottom right<\/strong> to apply them. Otherwise, they won\u2019t be saved. Here\u2019s the result.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Adding a Little Background Blur<\/h3>\n

I like the result, but this time I wanted to blur the area around the car, so I selected Lens Blur from the Tools menu.<\/strong> A dot appears in the center of the screen, surrounded by a circle.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I adjusted the circle so it framed the car nicely\u2026<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u2026then adjusted the blur strength. Here\u2019s how it turned out.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Finally, I saved the image from the Export menu. Here\u2019s the original photo\u2026<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u2026and here it is after editing.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The colors are more vivid, and the contrast between the Panamera\u2019s deep blue paint and the surrounding greenery really stands out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
