Impressions after driving approximately 1,000 km round trip in a BMW 320i

BMW 320i and GT3 to Fuji

I've been writing about my recent trip to Fuji Speedway, and today I'm going to tell you about it again (laughs). My husband drove the GT3 and I drove the BMW 320i (MT) on the 1,000 km round trip to Fuji.I drove. Up until now, every time I went to Fuji Speedway, I had driven my Panamera, and although I had driven 1000 km in a Panamera, this was the first time I had gone in a 320i.

And since it is a manual car, I imagined that it would be quite tiring... In fact, today I would like to write about my impressions and points I noticed after driving 1,000 km.

Impressions after running 1000km on 320i

Regno tires are rainproof.

We had quite a few opportunities to drive in the rain, such as being caught in a rainstorm on the highway on the way to Fuji Speedway and a torrential downpour on the mountain road to Fuji Speedway, but we were able to drive without any difficulty, no different than on a sunny day. My husband also said, "The Regno is a rainproof tire, but it really is.He said.

Until now, I have often felt that these tires have a fluffy suspension and I wish they were firmer, but I have found them to be very reliable in the rain.

Fatigue is the same with MT and AT.

Before we left, we were told that "I wonder if manuals are tiring....shifting gears and such is tedious....I was worried that the speed would be too fast, but once I got up to speed, it was not much different from an AT car.

Almost always in 6th gear, sometimes in 5th to accelerate, and not messing around with the shift lever like you would in town.Rather, changing gears every once in a while has the effect of making you less sleepy.I felt as if I was in the middle of the road. I got stuck in slow-moving traffic a few times, but it was no different than traffic on regular roads, so it was not that bad.

Rather than "AT or MT."With or without cruise controlThe difference in fatigue due to driving seems to be larger in the "+" category.

I get interrupted quite a bit.

When I drive a Panamera, I am seldom interrupted. Sometimes I see a Panamera on the highway, and I think to myself, "It would be scary to see a big car with its headlights shining brightly approaching from behind, even in daylight.

Also, up until now, when I've been to Fuji, I've been going to "Boxster and Panameraand "964 and PanameraSince we had gone with two units of theIt was hard to find a car that dared to interrupt the two Porsches side by side.I was in a BMW and my husband was in a GT3. But this time, I was driving behind him, and I was in a BMW, and my husband was in a GT3.Many cars interrupted us to see GT3.I think.

Several times, some cars were quite forcibly interrupted in front of the 320i, running behind the GT3 with vitas, sometimes running side by side, and never leaving the GT3's side the whole time (laughs).

And then, eventually, a couple of cars cut in front of us, and we lost sight of my husband, and he was on the walkie-talkie and said, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry.Where are you?I asked, "What do you think of theI'll be in the SA at XX first. There were frequent occasions when the exchange ofAnd this walkie-talkie was quite handy. So, I would like to write about this again in a separate article.

I want to follow behind my husband, but I think it has become a little stressful to lose him because of the frequent interruptions.

Lack of acceleration

This is not so much a "320i" thing.Due to the fact that we are used to the acceleration of the Panamera Turbo.However... there were many times when I felt that the acceleration of the 320i was lacking. When I wanted to accelerate after the car in front of me had pulled out, I would drop to 5th gear and accelerate, but the car would not accelerate, and while I was saying to myself, "Well, I'll have to change to 4th gear first," the car would cut me off again...and there were more than 10 times when this happened.

Maybe I'm just a dope (laughs).

However, if it is a Panamera Turbo, "it will beThe moment you decide to accelerate, you're already there.I could accelerate at a level like "I can accelerate at a level like that," so I couldn't help but compare it to that and felt stressed.

More stable than expected at high speeds.

Although I drove with the GT3, it would be impossible for the 320i to keep up with the GT3's acceleration, even if heaven and earth were turned upside down (-_-).No, maybe not, the 320i is also quite stable and very easy to drive on the highway. It was felt that "the

Sohyo (General Council of Trade Unions of Japan)

After driving the 320i for a 1,000 km round trip this time, I surprisingly felt little driving fatigue. I had thought that driving with a manual transmission would be tiring, butOn the contrary, the moderate shift change was stimulating and did not make me "sleepy - too hard.

But other than just driving-related matters, e.g.If it were a Panamera, I would be interrupted in situations where I would not be interrupted, or I would not be able to accelerate as much as I would like...I was a little stressed about this part. Well, it is not so exaggerated as to be stressful.

And even though we had to take breaks every so often.(We stopped at SAs and rest stops roughly 5 or 6 times each way)I was in the same position all the time, so my legs felt sluggish like economy syndrome and my entire body was swollen. Well...this is to be expected after running 500 km a day.

After driving the 320i this time, there is nothing that I cannot drive this long distance at all, but knowing the comfort and power of the Panamera Turbo, I felt that I would prefer to drive the Panamera for long distance driving.
