Porsche Taycan

Reservations for the Porsche Taikan are now open.

Taikan, Reservations Started

The other day.Reservations for Porsche's first electric car, the Taikan, have begun. The news was that the company was going to start a new project in the near future, and we received a phone call from Mr. H, who was in charge of the project.

"We've started taking reservations for Taikan, would you like me to make one for you?"

In response, my husband said, "Actually, I'm also interested in the Continental GT, and I haven't made up my mind about the Taikan yet," to which Mr. H replied, "I'm not sure.Understood! Now, please increase the number of Continental GT's in the W.He said it was "a very good time." (Laughter)

At any rate, she decided to make an appointment with Taikan for once, although she can't say for sure that she will buy it yet. She told her husband, "If you're going to make a reservation, taikan 4s, have you decided on specs or anything else?I asked.

I know, right?I don't need that much power anymore, so this time I'm going with Taikan 4S.If there was a bare model, I wouldn't hesitate to go for it. Since the Taikan was announced, I have been using the configurator on the American Porsche website to simulate the car. However, I wonder why the Japanese Porsche website is so slow in releasing the configurator. I always wonder why....

So, since I was in the mood, I decided to ask my husband to tell me what specifications he would use if he were to buy a taikan.

Taikan 4S, specifications

My husband tried it out on the configurator on the US site to see if it was the right specs for him to buy.this way (direction close to the speaker or towards the speaker)The following is a list of the most common problems with the "C" in the "C" column.(There may be some changes again when it comes to Japanese specifications, and they will reconsider if they decide to buy it)

The options I definitely wanted to add were.Porsche Electric Sport SoundThis is like a sports exhaust. This is a kind of "sports exhaust" that allows you to enjoy the dynamic sound of the engine...or rather, not the engine, but the sound of the engine. I actually listened to the video and the squeaky sound was really cool.
Also.Body color: BlackI chose the I was debating whether to go with Gentian Blue Metallic, but I thought it would be nice to go with black to give a compact look to the design of the Taikan. In addition, I decided to make the window frames black to give the whole car a solid look.

The wheels were designed with range in mind.20-inch Taycan Turbo Aero Wheels, which had the longest range in the range simulationselection.
The interior and seats were left mostly bare, with only the seat belts colored red to match the red brake calipers.

And, as for the driving performance options.Sport Chrono Package, rear axle steering, and PDCC Sportis fully equipped for the first time in this project.
There is no reason not to add the Sport Chrono package, and the rear axle steering is well understood in the Panamera. AndI experienced PDCC in the new Cayenne I test drove and found this to have a very positive effect on ride quality. So, I chose it this time.
The only comfort equipment systems are lane change assist and ACC (adaptive cruise control).
I tried to limit the options as much as possible this time, but it still turned out to be quite expensive.

PDCC Sports

I see.... I see...

Taikan brakes

I said, "But an electric car?I don't feel comfortable with the brakes applying on their own when I let off the gas pedal.I understand that it generates electricity at that point, but when I actually drove the Nissan Note e-POWER, at first I thought it was kind of weird." I told him that, apparently, the brakes on the Taikan are constructed a little differently than the brakes on electric vehicles from other manufacturers.

I asked my husband about that as well.

Taikan'sPress Kit Technology WorkshopI'm reading that the braking operation of the 90% in normal driving isDeceleration can be achieved using only an electrical mechanism (regenerative braking of the motor) without the use of an actual braking device. It seems.
Therefore, it is not possible to use the one-pedal driving of a normal electric car. However, energy is regenerated behind the scenes by the motor's regenerative braking only when the driver steps on the brake. That's why they don't use brake pads very often. That is why Porsche, for the first time, has set a time frame for brake replacement, and the time frame is set at six years.
This is so amazing. The emphasis on proper braking operation is very typical of Porsche.I like Porsche because of this kind of attention to detail. I like the fact that they develop products with the belief that this is the way they should be.

He said. I see... that would be great!!!!

My husband also said, "I've never been in a car yet, and there are a lot of things I don't understand, but I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out.The more I learned, the more I realized that the direction they were aiming for was completely different from Tesla's, and I became more and more interested. He said.

I have yet to see a Taikan in person, so I need to see one in the flesh first!
