My Family's Car Life

I asked my husband to answer some questions about washing my Porsche.

The other day.Introducing my husband, a Porsche driver, and his car washing methods and car wash products.I received many comments and messages. Thank you very much. I asked my husband again about the questions I received, and today I would like to share his answers with you.

Brake dust water in the wheel

Here is the first question I received.

When the wheels are high-pressure washed, water gets into the brake rotors. When I drive after the wheels have been cleaned to a shine, I am always disappointed to see bright brown brake dust water splashed on the inside of the wheel. Please let me know if I am not washing enough or if there is something I can do to prevent this.

My husband's response to this.

He said, "If you want to really clean the inside of the wheel, you can't unless you take the wheel off and wash it.I never washed mine in the first place.I also wonder if the brake dust water is not better if you wash the car and start driving right away. I think it is the rusting of the brake rotors that causes the brown water. By the way, with the PCCB, there was no dirt or brown water at all."

Scared of windshield wipers

Here is the next question I received.

I understand that you have a water repellent finish on your windshield, but don't your wipers get scared? I recently applied a water repellent treatment (a product called Raindrop by Soft 99), but I am having trouble with the wipers getting scared. I would like to know about countermeasures for this.

My husband's response to this was.

"It depends on the shape of the windshield, so there are cases where the final cure cannot be achieved even if firm measures are taken. On top of that, the points areThe "surface preparation before applying the glass coating" and "wiping off the coating after it has been applied.I wonder how carefully we can do the following.
In other words, the windshield should be carefully wiped down during the surface preparation stage until the glass itself is free of any dirt or water stains, and even after applying the coating, the windshield should be carefully wiped down and smoothed out. If the slightest irregularity is created there, it will rattle and freak out.
And if you do so carefully and still get scared, you can say, 'Change the washer fluid to a water-repellent one instead of the genuine one.I think it's a matter of 'if it starts to chatter, use washer fluid to reduce friction. If the wipers start to chatter when you move them, you can use washer fluid to reduce friction. If you use a water-repellent washer fluid, the water repellency of the glass will not deteriorate, and since most of them contain silicone, I think it will keep the wipers moving smoothly."

Dead insects after highway driving, etc.

Here is the next question we received.

We would like to know how stubborn stains such as dead insects and tar are removed. I feel that after driving on the highway at night in the summer, etc., a large amount of dead insects adhere to the front bumper, etc., and it is sometimes difficult to remove the dirt using only a shampoo wash.

My husband's response to this was.

I think the best thing to do is to wash the car as soon as possible. My Cayenne was in the same condition before, and after a week of not being able to wash it, it was very difficult to get rid of it. So I think the best way is to wash it immediately, like the next day if possible. Also, after the car is delivered, when the coating is still on, it can be removed quite well, so it may depend on the coating.

This was the case.

How you wash your car

I would like to share with you some other comments we received regarding car washing, although they are not questions.

Kärcher and Silk Dryer

A German-made Kärcher is used, and the K2 Silent is used so that the driving noise does not disturb neighbors. If the car is properly coated, the Kärcher is convenient because it can be cleaned considerably just by washing with water.

I bought the recommended silk dryer in size M and am amazed at how much water it absorbs. In my case, after wiping it off with the silk dryer, I blow it off with a blower. I can blow cleanly around side mirrors, lights, and gaps between panels, and other places where towels cannot reach.

Water purifiers and silk dryers

I use a water purifier, but I still want to wipe off the water before it dries, so I think the silk dryer is especially essential during this season. Sometimes I have to dehydrate it in the washing machine after use because it absorbs too much water and I can't wring it out myself (laugh).

This was the case.

When I read your car washing methods, I am bowled over by your love for cars.... I think it is especially hard to wash a car in the middle of summer when it is hot and there are mosquitoes. If there is any additional information about my husband's car washing method, I would like to introduce it in future articles.
