How to care for Porsche leather seats

Some Porsche seats use synthetic leather or Alcantara for the skin, but most of them are made of leather.

Also, with Porsche in a leather package, the dashboard etc. are also covered with leather, so if you want to maintain the state of leather as it is,Regular maintenance is better.

This time, I would like to introduce how to care for Porsche leather seats in my own way.

Genuine Porsche leather cleaner and conditioner

In the pastMy wife uses an external genuine leather cleaner to clean the Panamera sheetI was doing, but I mainly use genuine PorscheLeather cleanerandconditionerIs using.

A slightly more expensive white bottle is now on sale as a successor to this, but my favorite is the old black bottle. There are two types, cleaner and conditioner, both of which are used.

How to use cleaner and conditioner

First, remove the dirt with a cleaner. It's hard to tell how dirty the black sheet is, but it's pretty clear with a beige sheet.

To use it, apply an appropriate amount of cleaner to a microfiber cloth or the like and wipe the sheet. In particular, it is a good idea to carefully wipe off the dirt-prone areas such as the seat surface.

After wiping it all over, moisten it with water and wipe it with a new cloth that has been wrung out tightly.

Once the leather is dry, it's time for the conditioner. Shake well, soak in a cloth or sponge, and wipe off. And finally, wipe it dry with a new cloth and you're done.

By the way.I think it is better to do this series of work for each sheet and each part.

Points to be careful of in my own way

The above method is all the procedure, but from here I would like to explain the points that I am careful about.

Reasons to use genuine cleaners and conditioners

For shoes and bags, mink oil, etc. are glossier, but there are many that are too oily and easy to get dusty, or are shiny and slippery, and are too nutritious and hot and humid. I have heard that the seats in the car are likely to cause mold, so I try not to use them.

This genuine cleaner and conditionerWith a moderate luster, the scent does not negate the scent of Porsche leather, just the right feelingThat's why I use it.

Where to focus on conditioner

Individuals that are often exposed to the scorching sun lose moisture in the leather at high temperatures, become hard, and shrink and crack over time. and,The most stressful part of the leather as it hardens and shrinks is the leather seams.

Therefore, I focus on the conditioner along the seams as much as possible so that the leather in that area is as flexible as possible. again,The side support on the outside of the driver's seat is prone to rubbing and wrinkling when getting on and off. Therefore, I try to focus on this as well.

One dry wipe, two dry wipe

The dry wipe of the finish after applying the conditioner greatly affects the finish. The luster of leather changes greatly depending on how carefully this is done. I'm pretty good with microfiber cloth etc.I try to wipe it carefully, and the process here is the most important.

Before cleaning Boxster's sheet

After cleaning. Can you see that the photo revives the natural luster? Actually, I can understand clearly.

Maintenance frequency

I do all of these processes about once a year, at the time of general cleaning.I don't do it every time I wash my car.

However, once every few car washes, use a damp towel that has been squeezed tightly. The leather part is wiped off to provide proper hydration. This prevents the leather from hardening and keeps it as supple as possible.

In fact, six years after the new car, my Boxster, which is 50,000 km, seems to have a certain effect because the leather remains relatively clean despite running so open. ..

The above are the points to be careful about when maintaining my own Porsche leather seats.
I think there are many other methods, but I hope you can refer to them as an example.
