Drove a Porsche 911 Carrera T on a broad farm road in Okayama, Japan!

Touring with Carrera T

The elementary school was on summer vacation and I was allowed to take the children home with me for two weeks.

During the long vacations such as GW, spring break, summer vacation, and year-end and New Year holidays, I usually go home with the children for a while, and my husband enjoys living alone for a while.

I am so thankful that I am able to concentrate on my work while my parents watch the children at home.

Usually, he spoke to me at home every three minutes when I woke up and said, "Please, leave your mother alone, just give me 3 minutes to concentrate on my work!I say, "I'm working so hard (laughs)... I'm grateful to my parents.

Then, I received an email from my husband.

."Since we're going to be here, why don't we take the Carrera T for a spin on the extensive farm roads of Okayama while my parents watch the kids at home?And.

The wide-area farm roads in Okayama that my husband refers to are mainly the "Mimasaka Yamanami Kaido," "Okukibi Kaido," and "Kagura Kaido.

The Mimasaka Yamanami Kaido is a 26-kilometer wide agricultural road that runs from National Road No. 53 in Tsuyama City, Okayama Prefecture to National Road No. 484 in Akaiwa City. The Oku-Kibi Kaido is a 42-kilometer wide agricultural road that runs through mountainous areas from Prefectural Road No. 71 in Tatebe, Kita-ku, Okayama City to National Road No. 313 in Kitabusa-cho, Maniwa City.

Kagura Highway is a wide-area farm road in the central part of Bicchu that runs east to west across the plateau of Takahashi City.

It's definitely the most pleasant road in western Japan outside of Kyushu. And it's long. It goes on and on and on. It's really amazing that such a nice road is free. It's really impressive.

Mr. wata is famous as that Boxster rider.The "Ascension Highway" in Okayama is highly praised by a local farmer who has come to the area many times to ride the road.

In fact, for several years now, the "I hope someday to go running on the extensive farm roads in Okayama with my husband and wife!We had talked about going on a touring trip with our children for a day, but it is quite a big job to leave the children with someone and go touring as a couple on a holiday, so we never had a chance to do it.

This time, finally, I was able to go.

Now it's time to go to Okayama wide-area farm road.

The day of the event was unusually fine for a woman like me, who is known for her heavy rain and stormy weather.

I left my parents' house at 12:00 noon. And I returned home at 10:00 p.m.Her husband returned home from there, having driven approximately 700 km that day.

In the past, I had driven 450 km one way from my home to Fuji Speedway, but this was the first time in my life that I had driven such a long distance, including winding roads and highways. (On the way, we took a break for an hour or so to have tea and a quick dinner at a service area, but other than that, we were running the whole way.)

On this day, we decided to start our run from Yamanami Kaido (Yamanami Highway).The Yamanami Kaido was, as rumored, a very pleasant road.Just moderate curves, ups and downs, and pleasant roads that go on forever.

I just can't help it,

I wish I had come in a Boxster (981GTS). The sound of the engine and the open road... I would definitely prefer a Boxster to a Carrera T..."

My husband was running along, mumbling to himself, "I'm not sure I'm going to be able to do this.What the heck, well, I know what you're saying, but...He chuckled.

Unfortunately, a part of Yamanami Kaido was closed to traffic (about 1/3 of the way), so we had to make a detour. I would like to come back again when the construction of the closed section is finished.

After that, we took the Oku-Kibi highway and met up with Tomozo-san, with whom my husband has always been good friends. Tomozo-san came with his Crayon 992 Carrera S Cabriolet, and we took a break at Kankan Tsuneyama Park while enjoying touring with other Crayons.

This Oku-Kibi Kaido was the most enjoyable for me personally. The road is narrower than the Yamanami Kaido (but wider than the Ashiyu Driveway), but I was able to turn the engine comfortably,The road was a rhythm of bubbling, engine and blipping sounds while using gears 2, 3 and 4.

Nevertheless, after a moderate series of curves comes a long straight line. It was amazing how many times this pattern came again and again. "Hey, didn't we run here earlier? Is this an endless loop...?It is so long that it gives the illusion of being a "long time".

On the way there, we were also given a ride in Tomozo's 992 Carrera S Cabriolet, and I enjoyed experiencing a different flavor of Carrera, including a ride in my Carrera T, with my husband driving in the passenger seat.

Even though it is the same 992, different grades and models give a different feeling of driving, engine, and everything else. No, no, Porsche is so difficult!

After that, we drove along the Kagura-kaido road to the direction of Hiroshima, from where we took the expressway to return home.

In fact, on this day, while driving on the highway on the way toI'm surprised the ride of the Carrera T on the highway isn't better. I don't remember it being this shaky...I was talking with my husband, "It's probably the air pressure," he said, after Tomozo gave us a ride in his 992.

Tomozo's air pressure is set to comfort pressure, so maybe it is smooth. My Carrera T is hard with standard pressure, so maybe lowering the air pressure will change the ride quality.

And. So I ran the car with the tires slightly deflated and set to comfort pressure, and was surprised to find that the ride was very smooth.

I didn't know air pressure could make such a difference!

In addition, theFor the 992 Carrera T, it always feels better to run with the auto-blipping feature on.I thought.

I used to run with the normal setting where the auto blipping is turned on in Sport and Sport Plus, but the 992 is very pleasant, smart, and fast in its response when adjusting revs, even at low speeds.

Of course, it is fun to do it by myself, but since I cannot blip the car so responsively and precisely by myself (I am inevitably slow to accelerate), I find it easier and more enjoyable to let the car do it for me (I felt good doing it myself with the 981 Boxster GTS and Swissport). This time, the Okayama wide-area farm road. I have never felt so full after driving. By driving comfortably on the road at a speed range that suited the Carrera T, I felt as if the car was happy and vigorous.

The car has traveled 2,800 km on its return trip, and the breaking-in period is almost complete.

We are looking forward to seeing how the Carrera T will change in the future, as we have heard that the engine and performance will change drastically after 5,000 km.
