981 and 991.1 GTS! Okayama touring with three pleasant sounds

The other day, my friend Tomozo's 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet (first half of 991) was delivered.Mr. TAKURO.I went to the usual Okayama wide area farm road for a day trip with 981 Boxster GTS and my Carrera 4 GTS cabriolet.

This time I would like to report on the touring report and the impression of the Carrera GTS Cabriolet.

We will meet with TAKURO at a convenience store, and this time we will head to Okayama on the Chugoku Expressway.

It was quite cold on this day, and the outside temperature on the highway was around 3-5 degrees Celsius. This will be the first full-scale highway driving since I changed to winter tires,It's very comfortable and there is no squishy or instability at high speeds.

From Yamanami Kaido to Okukibi Kaido

Therefore, I changed the route in a hurry. Get off the Tsuyama IC to drive on the unplanned Misaku Yamanami Highway.

Refuel at a nearby gas station and head to Yamanami Kaido!

This is my first time to run here with Carrera 4 GTS. Since it is a winter tire, I do not know the grip feeling at first, so I will increase the pace a little terrifyingly. At this time, the outside temperature was 6 ° C to 9 ° C, and when I attacked, I felt a slight sensation at the end, but the grip on dry roads was still great.

The pace naturally increased, and eventually I forgot to wear full winter tires. Proceeding to Okukibi Kaido on the way, the roar of NA Flat Six echoes further from the two GTSs.

The outside temperature is 3 ° C.The grip and crispness are even greater than when I was driving on the Yamanami Highway. It seems that winter tires have a sweet spot in the temperature around here.

Feel free to step on the accelerator in 2nd gear to escape the corner. Tractions like the Catapult launch of Carrera 4 are likely to be addictive.

Later, when I asked TAKURO, who was chasing after Boxster GTS, he said, "It's really fast! I instinctively chased with Sports Plus (laughs)"When. I don't mean to run that fast, but I think the performance of Carrera 4 GTS is amazing.

Then, after running for a while, a black 911 wearing a ducktail suddenly appears in front of me.

If you look closely, it's the first half of 991, and the cabriolet. Yes, this is the Carrera GTS Cabriolet that Tomozo bought.

We decided to meet at Ukantsuneyama Park and have them take a closer look at the car.
Again, this is the finest specification,Not only the leather interior but also the instrument panel is brownis. I've only seen this one in 996, but it's the first time in 991.

It's strange that it looks like a 991 Speedster, especially when you look at it from behind.

Test drive the Carrera GTS Cabriolet (first half of 991)

Immediately, I was allowed to drive a little. The sound, engine feel, PDK shift, etc. are very similar to my Carrera 4 GTS.

I was wondering if the sound was more direct because the roof was open, but that wasn't the case.It feels almost the same as a coupe, and the effect of the sound symposer that draws the sound into the car is probably great.

When I'm running, the ride quality for vertical sway at low speeds isn't that different from my coupe. However, the big difference is the sideways shaking.This has a large effect of PDCC, and the roll on the curve is obviously small.

In addition, Mr. Tomozo says that there is little shaking when the road surface conditions on the left and right are different in the city, and the effect of PDCC can be understood well.

If you turn PDCC into a sport and turn the corner further, it is clearly different with and without PDCC from here. Anyway, the roll bends with a minimum without breaking the flat posture. Some people may find this uncomfortable, but I really like this invincible run.

I was running and forgot about it, but this is RR. My GTS is Carrera 4,The GTS cabriolet I rode before is also Carrera 4Because it was, the difference seems to be obvious, butThis Carrera GTS Cabriolet didn't feel like driving a two-wheel drive.

Perhaps this is also due to the high ground contact feeling of the front due to the roll control in PDCC. It was an RR with less RR-likeness.

Round trip on Kagura Highway

When all three cars are ready, proceed to the famous road "Kagura Kaido". It's been featured on my blog many times, so I won't go into details, but it's a great winding.

Of course, there is no destination, and I'm just going to make a round trip on the freeway that lasts about 27km, so I'm already crazy. The three GTSs disappeared into the mountains, making a pleasant sound.

On the way, flowers bloom in the car discussion while changing cars with each other on the hill of the Kiriumi Observatory.

Compared to the cabriolet again,According to Tomozo, the coupe has a stronger sense of unity and a sense of humor.Say. Will there be a slight difference in response because there is no roof? The difference between the cabriolet and the coupe seems to be a little easier to feel in the first half of the 991, although the difference is hardly felt in the 992.

Even so, the round trip on the Kagura Highway is quite hard. This is "I'm full]. As expected, if you drive over 50km on the winding road, you will get a little tired.

Ebimeshi from the Kibi Kogen Highway

As the sun goes down, the three cars are slowing down and heading home.

This time, drive on the completely dark Kibi Kogen Highway and enjoy driving firmly here as well. No, noIn the prefecture of Okayama, there are too many free-running roads everywhere.It's like heaven for car lovers, no, drive lovers.
