Reviews & Test Rides

How different is the Porsche 911 GTS (late 991) from the GT3?

The other day.I wrote about my impressions of the 911GTSHowever, I would like to introduce my husband's impressions, which is the main topic of this issue.

GT3 and GTS are not similar.

Regarding 911GTS (late 991), my husband said this compared to GT3 (late 991).

This GTS was equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, just like our GT3. That's whyTires ride in the same condition.I've been trying to compare theThe GTS is still less shaky at low speeds.
But at speed, the GT3 rides better.
This could be the GT3 with a PCCB on it.GTS felt a little rough on the tires. It's just so much smoother. When I drove it some at high speed, the difference was even more obvious, the GT3 is super flat and really glides along as if there is no tire resistance. the GTS is smooth enough, but I didn't think it was that smooth.

This was the case.

I wonder how different the GTS is from the GT3, even though they have the same Cup tires. And as for my impressions of the winding roads.

I took it to the winding and foundAs expected of a GTS, it is fast! The car is very stable. Aside from its power, it is also very stable in cornering and turns any corner as you expect it to. No technique is required, and anyone can maintain a light pace with ease.
On the other hand, if I were to get a little aggressive, knowing that GT3There is no 'bite' to the road surface to that extent. The initial response speed and response is also about half a beat milder, especially in terms of front ground contact and security. the GTS has a natural front entry, whereas the GT3 has more power there.
The GT3 tries to cut in hard, while the GTS tries to turn a little more smoothly.I'm like, "I'm not sure what to do.

He said.

Driving a 911GTS with paddle shifters.

And as for how it feels to drive with paddle shifters.

PDK shifting is fast. Not as fast as the new 992, but fast enough. The feeling of the paddle shifters in the Sport Plus mode and accelerating with a bash, bash, bash sound gives you goosebumps!I guess.
The engine sound is clearer than the new 992, or rather, it is more exhaust oriented and has a little less mechanical noise. The volume is powerful in its own way, and I thought it lived up to the GTS name.

And. Next, I drove the small winding road with a series of tight corners that I recently drove in a 718 Cayman...

There, as you'd expect, I can't have enough power. I can get by with 2nd gear, and rarely go into 3rd gear. And even in 2nd gear, if you try to rev up the rpms, you will quickly find yourself overspeeding, so I don't think it's true that you can't have much fun.

And.

911 Carrera GTS Husband's General Comments

Finally, I asked my husband to write a general review of the GTS.

The GTS model is priced to reach the GT3 for a little more(exceeded by some options)But for town use, the GTS definitely rides better. I think I can do normal shopping and pick up and drop off.

The GTS is a model that offers unlimited sporting performance within the range of everyday use.I could see that this was the case. On the other handThe GT3 is a model that is "completely based on the circuit, but can also be used on the street.

This is a big difference, and I think it's safe to say that there is quite a difference between the GT3 and the GTS. with the GT3, I wouldn't think of going as far as a commute to work, but not so far as to go shopping around the neighborhood.

This is just my feeling on the matter. The difference between the GTS and the GT3 seems larger than the difference between the 911 and the Cayman. If anyone is confused between GTS and GT3, I would like to say this. "I'm not sure if I'll be able to do it.If you do a lot of town use, don't hesitate to go with GTS.GT3 is a different thing. You have to be a serious driver to be able to tame it.

GT3 and GTS are not similar.

Incidentally, this time GTS is PDCC(Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control)was not included, but I thought it would make quite an impression. If you choose a used one, I would recommend one with PDCC.

becauseAt the same time, I had the opportunity to drive a 991 early GTS, which had PDCC and was very easy to drive and the ride was even better. It is. I was surprised that the suspension was as good as the later model, even though it was the earlier model. I thought again that options do not lie.
