Porsche Boxster

Porsche GT3 and GTS models. Which is better suited for long distance touring?

About Porsche's GTS Model

My husband, who went touring in his Boxster GTS at the end of the year, said this to me with sincerity.

The model called GTS is a "Grand Touring SportsIt's more suitable for touring than the GT3.

And.

I asked him why.

I enjoy driving on good roads, of course. The ride is comfortable even when driving at low speeds on ordinary roads to get there, so I don't get tired.I thought so, especially this time, because we were traveling across the prefecture and often had to drive down the road instead of taking the expressway.

And. I see...

But...911GTS of a guy I know who let me ride before. The "A" has a very stiff suspension and I felt it would tire me out if I rode it for a long time, but I wonder if it depends on the model?" I said.

No, the 911 GTS that they took me for a ride in that time, I found out later. The suspension was a sport chassis and the tires were cup tires.I think the ride was too hard because of the If not, I think the ride would have been a little more comfortable.

And.

I see...it's true that tires make all the difference in ride quality.

Can you have a 911GT3?

And since we went touring at the end of the year, my husband has been saying this.

I'm...I like driving more than I like cars.I want to go touring often, and I want to drive hard on various roads without worrying about the weather or bad roads. That's why I want to go touring often and drive on various roads without worrying about the weather or bad roads.
When I think about it, I think that the 911 GT3 Touring may not be necessary for me right now.

And.

Oh, yeah! Oh yeah! But...At the time, they said it might be the last NA for the GT3 model.I said I couldn't part with it, that it was a rare and valuable car with a touring package, that it was exciting to drive, and that it was a car of a different caliber! I said.

No, I do...I still think so from the perspective of rarity and driving on wide, pleasant roads. But the GT3 Touring...Even though it has the name "Touring", it is still GT3.The car is very stiff to ride on, and it is not comfortable. Therefore, the ride is stiff, and to be honest, it is too much for urban areas and normal roads.
The sound of the NA engine is wonderful, but it's impossible to hear the engine sound because it's impossible to rev the engine above 4000 rpm frequently.
But if you let it run on good roads, it feels crazy good, and it's like, "You know what? That's the GT3, it's nothing like the GTS!It's a great feeling, but you only get to enjoy it about 10-20% of the time while touring. The other 80%+ of the time is not as much fun (compared to the GTS), and if you get stuck in traffic, it's worse, maybe even more so because of the MT.
When it comes to savoring those fleeting moments, the number of times you have to go out is also decreasing. And yet, I have recently begun to feel that it would be a waste to keep owning them.
I like driving and touring, after all.The GTS models and the bare bones models are by far the most fun to ride. Also, the GT3 is on Cup tires, so I'm afraid to ride in the rain, and I have to worry about the weather as well as the road.
So I've been thinking lately that maybe I don't need or can't have a GT3 right now.

And.

I see...the opportunity to ride, but the price of the vehicle is also very high.

But once the GT3 Touring is out of my hands, I'm sure I'll be able to sell it quickly."You might not be able to get one in good condition anymore, right?I say."

Yup. But if I ever want a GT3 in the future, there will be a high-performance 992 GT3, and that might still be fine... but, well...The GT3 is a car that is better suited for driving on a circuit.I don't need it because I only drive on the track a few times a year. And I think I'd rather have a GT3RS for the track.

And. I see. I never thought the day would come when my husband would say something like this...but I think I understand.

Her husband continued.

As I thought.I guess you never know until you actually own anything. When I think about it calmly, it is obvious that the GT3 model is too much for daily use, but I think it is important to actually own it and feel it firsthand.
Panamera Turbo that used to be in our houseAlso, the "Turbos are not needed on Japanese roads.I knew before I bought it that it was going to be, but "I don't want to say that without owning a turbo model.I worked hard and bought a turbo, thinking, "I'm not going to be able to afford it. But when I owned it, I thought, "It's a great car, but I don't need this much power.I thought, "I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do.
But this feeling is something you don't understand until you own one, and I'm glad I did at least once.

And. I see.(I've said nothing but "I see" since a while ago.)

The messages I receive on this blog include "It's helpful because it's not just a test drive for a few hours, it's the impressions I've learned from actually owning it.There are many things called "test drive," but I certainly think that test drive and ownership are very different.

I again hope that in 2021, we will be able to keep on writing about our real voices and real sensations in a steady and steady manner.
