(1) Background leading to purchase

I've been car-free for 11 years since I moved to Tokyo in 2007.Why did you decide to buy a car now, 11 years later, and why did you choose a Porsche, and of all the Porsches, why did you choose the 4E Hybrid?"I will write from three perspectives.

Why did I decide to buy a car now, 11 years later?

I have always been a big car enthusiast, and before moving to central Tokyo, I had driven a variety of cars. One day I wondered if I could continue to live my life without being involved with cars.
And later, when I was looking through the show windows of various car manufacturers.I don't need a car at all in my life right now, but let's buy a car again, not as a substitute for a cab, not for transportation, but for the 'spiritual enrichment' it brings to our lives!"I was determined to do so.

Why did you choose Porsche?

that isI had a crush on Porsche."It is. There is no guarantee that you will be able to drive in good health and with normal dynamic vision for decades to come. At most, we can estimate that we will only have a few more cars to drive in our lifetimes.I wanted to drive a car that "thrilled my heart. Then I wanted to drive a "car that makes my heart flutter. That was Porsche. I also considered Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Maserati, etc., but although they were all good cars, they were not "exciting cars" for me.

In fact, around 1980, three of my friends and I took a trip to what was then West Germany with the goal of driving over 200 km on the autobahn. We were driving a Mercedes-Benz 280S, and as we were traveling at 220 km/h on the Autobahn, a car "swooped" past us from the side. I looked and saw it was a Porsche 911.
From this moment on, the existence of Porsche and the desire to "someday drive a Porsche" were imprinted on his body.I think so.

Why did you choose the Panamera 4E Hybrid?

that isThe Panamera 4E Hybrid is the sports car of the future."I felt that it was a good idea.
I had always thought that I would end my car life with a 911, so I was considering a Porsche other than a 911 this time. At first I had my eye on a Cayenne. The Cayenne's overall height and vehicle weight far exceeded the regulations for parking in my apartment building.I also thought to myself, "Why would I dare to choose an SUV when I'm a Porsche?" Then I looked at the Panamera, and I thought, "This is it! I was instantly attracted to the Panamera.

The first car I test-drove was the Panamera 4S. When I lightly pressed down on the accelerator pedal, I heard the sound of "voom, voom". The car moves forward with a gust of wind.I couldn't help but exclaim, "Oh!" I was so impressed. And after the test drive, the candidates were narrowed down to three: the Panamera 4, the Panamera 4E Hybrid, and the Panamera 4S.

Among them.I had a "crush" on the Panamera 4E Hybrid's torque and horsepower that exceeded that of the 4S.But unfortunately, there were no test drives available at that time. Later, aA dealer representative who has test-driven the new Panamera 4E Hybrid told us, "The Panamera 4E Hybrid is synonymous with the sports car of the future! and he was very pleased with the results. Then the Panamera 4E Hybrid is the way to go! I decided to buy it.

The Panamera 4E Hybrid is the only sports car that can drive like this, quietly with only the motor around the house and with full boost at high speeds and on winding roads. On the other hand, I wasn't really aware of the fuel economy.
(2) Options and specifications

〘Panamera 4E Hybrid options/specifications〙
Exterior color: Carrara White Metallic
Interior color: Black
Exterior: Privacy glass
Transmission/chassis: PDK, Sport Chrono Package (standard)
Wheels: 19-inch Panamera S wheels
Interior: partial leather seats, cruise control (standard), floor mats

Before setting options

Before setting up the options in detail, "20" Panamera Turbo wheels in Carrara White body color or 20" Panamera Design wheels" and "21" Panamera Sport Design wheels in Jet Black body color (high gloss black)". We were given a quote and finally started to select options based on the body color Carrara White.

How we decided on the wheels

However, I had two thoughts about setting options.

One, as mentioned, I am the first owner in 11 years, and I also read an automotive magazine I used to read.Porsche comes standard and is almost complete. The thought of "covering the unsatisfactory points or shortcomings with options" was almost never in my mind, because I had the description "I am not satisfied with the product" in my mind.

Second.I don't want to make the Panamera any heavier by adding options. That was the thought that came to mind. The weight limit of the multi-story parking garage in my apartment is 2,300 kg, but the Panamera 4E Hybrid weighs 2,170 kg empty, and with a full tank of gasoline, it weighs just under 2,240 kg. Since the weight of options is added to this weight, we decided to avoid options as much as possible.

However, I wanted to keep the footwear clean and smart, so I assumed 20-inch wheels, but the dealer representative told me that

If you're going to have an infant in the backseat, I'd recommend the factory wheels, as 20-inch wheels won't be comfortable."

This was explained to me. In addition, the width of the car was already just barely wide enough due to the width restriction of the multi-story parking lot of my apartment building, so I had no choice but to use 19-inch wheels. However, theInstead of standard 19-inch wheels, we decided to at least choose 4S 19-inch wheels.(in Japanese history)(I thought it was a little like Turbo W. LOL)

But even now, every time I pass a 20-21 inch Panamera, I always wonder if I made the right choice.... Also, a while after signing the contract, I read this blogThe wheels on the Panamera Turbo, and why my husband dared to choose 21-inch wheels."When I read an article calledIf I had read it first, I would have definitely gone with the 20"!"I thought.

I'll have to leave the 20" wheels to a future 911...lol!

Lessons learned in option selection

I'll share some of the options I'm glad I had and should have had in my next post-delivery article, but the lessons I learned in choosing options for this Panamera purchase areWhen you buy your car, sign a contract in a state of full satisfaction!"It was (laughs).
