Suzuki

A Porsche driver's realistic impression of the Swift Sport after owning it for a year and a half.

Swift Sport, mileage 9800km

Today I would like to write about my impressions of the Suzuki Swift Sport after owning it for a year and a half.

The Swift Sport was delivered in October 2021. And the sale was made at the end of May 2023.The distance traveled is 9850 km.

There were occasional runs on the nearby Ashiu Driveway and on the highway,Mostly city drivingI hope you will understand that this is not a review based on driving all the various roads as it was

What prompted me to purchase the Swift Sport?Desire to drive a MT carwas the rekindling of the "I".

I was originally a paper driver with an AT license, but under the influence (brainwashed w) of my husband, I canceled my AT license,I bought myself my first car, a BMW 320i (MT).

Riding the 320 every day, "The Joy of MTgradually realized that "theI don't mind if I don't have to use MT anymore... I'm still more comfortable with the AT.I began to think, "I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do.

Then, just before the birth of his third child, he sold the 320i. "I'll just use an AT car for a while.I had thought that I would be able to drive the Boxster GTS (981 MT), which has been in my house since the early days, but... when I drove it for the first time in a long time, I remembered the joy of driving a MT car with my own hands and...

."After all, I shall buy my own MT car again! This means that "theBudget (low 2 million yen)," "5-seater," "compact," "fun to drive."I searched for the Swift Sport from the viewpoint of

Then I went to the nearest dealer to test drive a MT car, and within five seconds of getting in, I was like.Buy this!I decided, "I'm not going to do it.

Visual design and interior

The current model Swift Sport looked cool and cute and I liked it a lot.

I wanted a two-tone color, so I chose black and red."Burning Red Pearl MetallicI loved the deep, shiny, very beautiful red color called "red.

In addition, my husband told me that he wasWhy don't you put decals on it? It would be so cool! They said, "Ehhhh... but it's like putting decals on it or something... it's like being a runner...At first he said, "I'm not a fan of this," but when he looked at the design, the front decals and side decals looked stylish (there were two types of side decals, and he decided to just use the one that said "sport"), so he decided to put them on.

By the way, the decal was a dealer option.

The interior is decorated in red with sporty-looking gauges and red coloring on the dashboard and near the doors.

The seats are also quite solid, with red stitching and "sport" lettering accents.I wonder if this is really a new car for 2.2 million yen (price at that time)..!The design is so meticulous that I am sorry to say "I'm sorry.

I don't think many people would complain about this interior (if anything, I thought it was more glamorous than the Porsche my husband drives, W).

Swisspo performance and driving performance

Swisspo is unquestionably fun.

I think it's partly because I'm an MT that I feel that way even more so,Nimble" x "Good suspension" x "Engine has good power"The car is more than enough fun even in busy city traffic. The car weighs less than one ton, so it is very light, and although it accelerates quickly and pleasantly when starting off, the suspension is firm, so there is no feeling of being "uncomfortable" at all.

Compared to the Porsche that I usually have at home, the Porsche has a wonderful rigidity and suspension, but the Porsche is not as stiff as the Porsche. The cost-effectiveness of the product, which is so well made in this price range. Then, I even thought that I would beat Porsche.

Compared to other compact cars in this price range,It's a solidly built car (especially the suspension) with a step up in quality.I could see that this was the case.

Also this Swisspo,It got even better after the lowered suspension. The normal suspension had an impression of being a bit fluffy, but it has become more stable, especially when driving on the highway, and the sense of ground contact has increased dramatically.

Even when driving at a certain speed and going around curves, it is not scary at all. I don't feel shaky at all. I feel very safe and comfortable driving the car. (However, the lower height increases the risk of scraping the bottom of the car when exiting a convenience store parking lot...)

The engine feels great again...!

I am on Swisspo, though, and can blip on my own,The response when the rpm is matched is also very smooth and extends in proportion to the accelerator pedal.I really, really enjoyed it already, too. The last one was called "I don't know why I said "sell" such a fun car...It was such a good run that I asked myself over and over again, "What was the point of this?

Thanks to this, a production slot for a 911 was awarded, and I decided to take the plunge and buy a Porsche, though,Without those opportunities, I would have been on it for many, many years.

Fuel Economy and Practicality

As for fuel economy, I think it was around 12km/l to 14km_l, since I was mostly driving in the city with many traffic lights. If I had driven more often in the suburbs or on highways, the fuel economy might have been better.

And then...As for practicality, it is outstanding. It was very convenient to be able to drive on any road, park in any parking lot, and really get around anywhere Swiss because of its compact size.

The back seat is surprisingly spacious, and I was able to carry my three children in the back,The trunk could also carry larger suitcases that would be used for international travel.

However, when my husband and I go out with our family of five, it's a different story. The passenger seat has very little legroom, so my husband always has to use the "My feet hit the floor, it's too narrow, I can't go long distance with this. When I was operating the manual transmission, my husband's right arm would bump my left arm against his right arm at the moment he put it in second gear (laugh). (In that sense, the Nissan Note that we used to have at home was more comfortable.)

SwisspoRiding alone is a lot of fun, but with two or more people, it still becomes heavy and the ride is a little uncomfortable.I think it would be a car suitable for "enjoying driving alone" because it would be a "one-person car".

Thank you, Swisspo!

I drove the Swissport for a year and a half. It was a car that I would have loved to let go of, so much so that if my money could afford it, I would have had two cars.

That was really fun.

The price of a car is not proportional to its enjoyment, nor is the power or horsepower of a car proportional to its enjoyment,It was a good car that made me realize that from the bottom of my stomach. At the end of May, Swisspo was taken away from us, and I hope it is running happily under the care of its next owner.

Swisspo, thank you!
