718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport in Forza 7!

My husband, who has been honing his skills daily in Gran Turismo on the PlayStation, tried driving a Cayman GT4 Clubsport in Forza Motorsport 7, and he wrote an article about his impressions and what he found. Please take a look if you like.

Forza Motorsport 7

a short time ago718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport now available in the racing game (simulator) Forza Motorsport 7news, but since I have been playing only Gran Turismo SPORT recently, I have not been able to try it out, and it is only now.

Forza Motorsport 7, which is available for Xbox and Windows PCs, is aRacing Simulation GamesIt's a game with a lot of features. The features of this game are very beautiful graphics and sound, and the large number of car models.

By the way, right now, I'm at home.

  • Gran Turismo SPORT (PS4)
  • Asset Corsa (PS4)
  • Project Cars 2 (PS4)
  • iRacing (Windows)
  • rFactor 2 (Windows)
  • Forza Motorsport 7 (Windows)
  • Forza Horizon 3 (Windows)

and use them according to their mood.
Please refer to the following articles in the past for more detailed explanations.

This time, we have released718 Cayman GT4 ClubsportIt is.

This isIn the real car, it is a racing car only and cannot be driven on public roads.Although available in Japan, the new series, sponsored by Porsche Japan, "Porsche Sprint Challenge Japan (PSCJ)They are required to participate in the

Driving a Cayman GT4 Clubsport

So we decided to get a vehicle and try it out at the Suzuka Circuit.

First, and this is a feature of the game Forza, butThe level of difficulty varies considerably depending on the steering assist level setting.Of course, this is true of other games as well, but I think the swing is particularly large in this game.

Basically, in my case, when I play racing games, I run without any assistance at all, but in the case of Forza 7, I can't say that I'm a fan of the "SimulationThis is what the handle setting of "I'm a member of the team" is for.

However, when I do this, it is very difficult to run. The steering wheel cuts off too much, and it cuts off to the max too soon.I lost grip on the front and often understeer. The steering wheel is not set to the maximum loose setting. It is difficult to adjust the steering wheel controller's turning angle to the maximum loose setting.(especially after playing other games, it's hard to get used to)

So, if you play Forza 7, unless you are very familiar with ForzaAssist setting of the steering wheel is in the mode "Normal".to a setting that prevents the steering wheel from turning too far. Personally, I think "Normal" is closest to the feeling of driving on a circuit in a real car.

When I started the car on the "Normal" setting, it was still very easy to drive. The graphics are as realistic and beautiful as Gran Turismo SPORT.And the sound is quite good.

While the sound of Gran Turismo SPORT inevitably has a game-like impression, Forza successfully reproduces the "keening" sound that is unique to racing cars such as the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport without being jarring, andExhaust and engine sounds are also highly realistic.I think.

The view from the cockpit is also very realistic, and if you play it on a large screen, it is quite realistic. Incidentally, in the case of Forza 7, there is no such view as the one in Gran Turismo SPORT, in which the car body is completely hidden from view and only the road is visible. You will always play with a view in which part of the car body is visible.

I like this cockpit to view as it is the easiest to do.

Time attack in Suzuka at a time.

This is just my impression as a simulator, but this time I ran it while comparing it with a 981 Cayman GT4 (not Clubsport) for comparison.

Compared to a regular GT4, indeed. The 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport is easy to drive. The downforce is strong, the brakes work well, and the car is very straightforward, especially on S-curves.In Suzuka, the car can run at around 2′08″ with the default settings, but with a normal GT4, the time is around 2′28″. I don't know how much the difference would be in a real car, but the difference in performance is obvious, as this is a club sport car.

Incidentally, the actual Cayman GT4 Clubsport's course record at Suzuka is 2'14.878, so perhaps Forza's GT4 Clubsport is a little too fast.

In the case of Forza, you can only choose tires for racing or drifting, and there are almost no tire options. However, tire width, air pressure, and other suspension settings can be set relatively freely, so it is a good idea to try tuning the car to suit your own preferences.

Compared to other simulators, I personally find Forza 7 to be a bit quirky in its controls. So I don't often use it for practice, but I like the fact that there are many Porsche models and that they release new models relatively quickly like this.

The Porsche models available in Forza 7 besides the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport are as follows. They range from the latest to the most famous cars of the past.
