Nara to Wakayama Driving in Fresh Greenery with Porsche Cayenne

Cayenne to Nara and Wakayama

The other day, my family and I went to Kumano Nachi-taisha Shrine. It was just before the state of emergency was declared, but we had been planning to go for some time, and I am glad we were able to go just in time.

My family is of the school of thought that we do not go to Hatsumode on New Year's Day. There is no deep meaning to it, but we both dislike crowds and waiting in line.Cherry blossom viewing, festivals, fireworks, theme parks.I try not to go to places where people are concentrated, such as the following places, and even if I do, I try to go there at a different time of the year.

Therefore, I usually go to Kumano Nachi-taisha Shrine for Hatsumode around February, but this year, due to the recent situation, it was a very late Hatsumode.

...I mean, in April, it's no longer Hatsumode, it's just a regular pilgrimage....

When I go to Kumano Nachi-taisha Shrine for pilgrimage, I used to take the main expressway to Wakayama andHe was running along the coastal road in Shirahama and going around in circles.

However, the expressways in Wakayama Prefecture south of the Arita Interchange are mostly one-lane, two-way traffic sections for about 50 km.It's pretty hard to keep driving at a slow pace for 50km every time.I think it's a great place to live. And the road along the coast after getting off the highway is beautiful, but there is a lot of traffic," the couple often said.

Therefore, "Let's take a different route this time, one that's out of the ordinary! We decided to take Route 168 from Nara across the Kii Peninsula to Shingu, and then Route 311 to Kumano Nachi-taisha Shrine.

Driving a Cayenne in the midst of spectacular scenery

This drive was very enjoyable driving the car because the weather was nice and there was very little traffic. In my opinion, it was the most pleasant drive I have ever been on.

First of all, we were blessed with good weather this time.

I'm a rain woman by my own admission and others, so when I go somewhere, the weather is usuallyHeavy rain, heavy rain, heavy snow, heavy fog.and often drive with a bit of disappointment.

A visit to Fuji Speedway in March

However, for some reason, the only time I go to Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine is when the weather clears up, even though I am such a big rain woman. And this time, too.Such a nice drive on a sunny day!I was very impressed.

Also, "Season of fresh greeneryThe best part was that it was the first time I had ever run in such beautiful fresh greenery. I have never experienced running in such beautiful fresh greenery before, so it was a true blessing to be able to run through a landscape with mountains colored in various shades of green and a majestic river flowing below.

I was so impressed that my husband

It's true that our previous family road trips have often been in bad weather or at the wrong time of the year, and the scenery has often been less than beautiful. When I go touring, it's usually like this.Feels good, fun, not enough running yet.You know what I mean.

Also, the roads on Routes 168 and 311 that we drove this time were very good. I was able to enjoy a variety of roads, including tight corners, wide and straight roads, and moderate curves.I didn't know there were such beautiful roads in the Kinki region...I was happy to be able to do this.

And now, once again, we haveEven the Cayenne SUV is more than enough to enjoy driving.I realized that

When the driver's foot is set one level stiffer, the car becomes more muscular and rolls less in tight corners. When the car is set to sport mode on smooth, wide roads, the engine response changes and the car is so agile that it is hard to believe it is an SUV.

And what's more, the Cayenne E-Hybrid's acceleration is extremely pleasant. The instantaneous force at the moment of stepping on the pedal is also wonderful, and it is fast.

howeverIn narrow streets, there are times when it is difficult to pass each other.I thought it would be a lot of fun to drive a more compact, small, and maneuverable MT car.

By the way, my husband is about this chiend live.

It's been a while since I've been touring on country roads like this in a Cayenne, but it's still a lot of fun. I don't get tired of driving it with my family in it, and the handling is fun. I think it's fundamentally different from the SUVs of other manufacturers. I think it would be even more fun to drive alone. It's such a good car that I'm thinking of going on a touring alone with Cayenne.

In a previous post.I'm looking for a MT car for myself. As I wrote, I actually finally ordered one the other day, and I am definitely looking forward to coming back here to run again when my second car of my life is delivered. (I will tell you what I decided on in my delivery report article.)
