Japan Middle of the Road Meeting with Porsche 911 GT3

Porsche GT3's second day of touring

The next morning, as soon as breakfast was served, everyone was quietly packing their bags in their beloved cars and getting ready for the touring. One by one, the engines fired up, and the exhaust note echoed through the hot spring resort at an altitude of 1,800 meters.

The temperature, which was about 9 degrees below zero before sunrise, rose to 3-4 degrees. The morning is a slow one. Everyone took a slow pace in the morning to warm up their engines, bodies, and tires. We stopped near the parking lot of Chao Utaki, took pictures, swapped cars, and enjoyed the ride as much as we wanted.

And here we go.WATA-san is leaving now for the grand touring, so goodbye! It was. The sapphire blue Boxster, shifting gears as vividly as ever, was sucked into the mountains of Kiso.

K256 is a two-lane winding road along the river, but there is little traffic, so you can drive at your own pace. As the tires and engines warmed up, the pace of each car increased.

The GT3 is also set to sport mode, with auto-blipping enabled, and the engine is actively revved. However. After all, with 500 PS, second gear is rarely needed on tight winding roads. It can almost always be driven in 3rd gear with room to spare.

As we approached the entrance to Mt.To my surprise, the road was blocked off because there was a road bike hill climb race that day!I was sorry to hear that, but I had no choice. Unfortunately, we had no choice. Each car made a U-turn and headed back the way they came.

Perhaps out of frustration at not being able to climb Mount Ontake, everyone's pace was even faster. The GT3s following in last place were whipped into shape, and the seven cars running fast in front of them were chased through the Kiso Road.

After enjoying soft-serve ice cream from Kaida Kogen Ice Cream Factory, which wata-san often mentions in his blog, I had to say goodbye to everyone as I had work the next day. I thanked everyone for their hospitality and headed home, hoping to see them again next year.

Speaking of touring like touring in GT3.Shikoku, Hachikita, Awaji, Koya Ryujin, and the Kansai area during the acclimatization period. It was. And the last place we went to, Koya Ryujin, had so many tourist cars that we were left with the image of a touring trip where we just drove the GT3 like a slow trolley train.I was left with the image of touring with GT3 = exhausting in my mind. The first is the "I" in "I".

However, this time, as I traveled through the Kansai region to the Hokuriku and Chubu regions, I thought, "The GT3 is a car that can go touring at all!The reason for this is that there were many pleasant roads with little traffic. Naturally, it was the fact that there were many pleasant roads with little traffic that made me think so, but such a situationGT3 is really the best.It was It was a lot of fun. I was having so much fun that I didn't care a bit about the stiffness in my legs, only the pleasant tiredness.

And best of all.It was great to be on the road with genuine car enthusiasts, or rather driving enthusiasts, like wata and the others! The pace of running was great.

Thank you for the wonderful encounters. Thank you so much to everyone who helped me on this touring trip!
