ポルシェ 971新型パナメーラターボと981ボクスターGTS
It’s almost been two months since I started an Instagram account for our Porsches, and I’ve been posting once or twice a day. For me, the fun of Instagram is how easily it brings people together across nationalities and language barriers. When you see a photo you love, language doesn’t matter.
I’ve had comments from racing drivers overseas, and I actually get more likes from people abroad than from Japanese users. (Maybe using English hashtags helps, too.)
My Instagram account is @Mina_Porsche. Here’s a look at the feed.
I still have fewer than 150 followers, but lately quite a few of my photos have been getting more than 100 likes.
I hope the account keeps growing steadily, one follower at a time.
When I post photos on Instagram, I use Snapseed, Google’s powerful, feature-packed photo-editing app.
I used to edit photos with another app, but my husband introduced me to Snapseed, and it’s so good that I haven’t used anything else since. It goes far beyond a basic photo-editing app—it’s almost like Photoshop.
And it’s free!
It has a 3.9-star rating, and here are a couple of reviews:
【Absolutely fantastic】
This app is so good it makes me want to give it five stars. (I know, this sounds like a fake review, but it isn’t 💦)
It’s the easiest-to-use and most feature-rich photo editor I’ve tried!
I’d recommend it both to people who want to do serious editing (that’s me, lol) and to anyone who wants to make stylish photos for Instagram.
【Simply perfect】
Simple yet functional. It has such a great range of tools that I almost wonder how it can be free. Excellent. Nothing to complain about.
I couldn’t agree more. So, let me show you how to use Snapseed, along with some before-and-after edits.
For this demo, I’ll edit a photo I took on my iPhone with no special settings.
When you open Snapseed, you’ll see a selection of looks, such as “Portrait” and “Smooth.” Choose one, and the app automatically changes the look of your image.
Here’s what happens when you select “Accentuate.”
It looks a little brighter, doesn’t it? It’s already lovely, but I wanted to edit the image exactly the way I had in mind. So I tapped the “X” to go back and opened the screen where I could make my own adjustments.
You’ll see a whole range of tools.
The tool I use most is Tune Image, in the top-left corner.
Tap Tune Image, and you’ll see…
…a range of adjustment options. Here’s what they do:
■Brightness: Makes the image lighter or darker
■Contrast: Makes light areas lighter and dark areas darker, increasing the difference between them to give the photo more definition
■Saturation: Controls color intensity. Higher saturation makes colors more vivid
■Ambiance: Adjusts the overall balance of light. Useful for backlit photos
■Highlights: Makes the bright areas of the image lighter or darker
■Shadows: Makes the dark areas of the image lighter or darker
■Warmth: Adjusts the color temperature of the light, measured in kelvins (K). Lower values give a warmer, redder look; higher values make the light cooler and bluer
Choose an adjustment, then swipe left or right on the photo to change its value.
Once you’ve made all your adjustments, remember to tap the check mark at the bottom right to apply them. Otherwise, they won’t be saved. Here’s the result.
I like the result, but this time I wanted to blur the area around the car, so I selected Lens Blur from the Tools menu. A dot appears in the center of the screen, surrounded by a circle.
I adjusted the circle so it framed the car nicely…
…then adjusted the blur strength. Here’s how it turned out.
Finally, I saved the image from the Export menu. Here’s the original photo…
…and here it is after editing.
The colors are more vivid, and the contrast between the Panamera’s deep blue paint and the surrounding greenery really stands out.
