Porsche 911

To what extent can the Porsche 911 GT3 be used on a daily basis?

911GT3, everyday use

911 GT3 Touring Package in my house. The catalog states that the Touring Package is available as aA car to enjoy the driving experience not only on the track, but also on various other occasions. It is written that ".

."Enjoy driving experiences on a variety of occasionsThis 911 GT3 Touring, calledHow well can it be used in daily life?I wonder if I will be able to go to the local supermarket, do my shopping, and come home as I normally do, without any problems...

When I thought about GT3 from my wife's point of view, I was very curious about that area, so I decided to check it out.

(1) Can you go over the steps?

The first thing that struck me was, "When entering the parking lot of a local supermarket, whether or not you can go over the difference in level from the sidewalk without any problem. It's a supermarket. So, we decided to go to that supermarket with GT3 as soon as possible.

My husband has been working on this GT3 with the "Front axle lift systemSince you have the option of "I don't have to remember to press this button.

I slowly went over the steps, thinking things like, "Maybe I should try entering at a bit of an angle..." But I was able to enter the parking lot without any problems.

Afterwards, I checked again the steps and slope of this supermarket's parking lot, and it was much looser than I had expected. It was much gentler than I had expected.

Therefore.I'm going to try a nearby pharmacy with a few more steps and a steeper incline.I pressed the lift-up button again and climbed slowly. I pressed the lift-up button again and slowly climbed up, also with no problem.

The photo doesn't quite convey the thickness and slope of the steps... (-_-) But I guess it is possible to go this far. Some convenience stores have hard steps, but I think most of them are doable.

I asked my husband about it, and he said it is perfectly fine for a parking lot slope like this.

I hear that the GT4's often scrape underneath because you can't get the lift up option. The GT3, which can be given the option of a lift, doesn't need to be so nervous.I felt that it was a good idea.

When I asked my husband about it, he said, 'So far, as long as I keep the ride height up with a front lift, I don't remember rubbing it, especially in everyday use.

(2) How about a car stop?

The GT3 has quite a bit of the rear lower diffuser fins sticking out, so my husband says.First of all, it's totally impossible to back up to the parking lot in a normal parking lot.He said, "I'm not sure how much I'm going to be able to do. Since the height from the ground to the fins is only 8-9 cm, even the raised area in the middle of the pallet of opportunity parking, for example, is likely to scrape. (The mechanical parking lot where my husband often parks has a few millimeters to spare, and he said that if the tires were to wear down more, they might scrape.)

The resin is soft, so it will not snap when rubbed, and even if it bends, it is said to have some resilience, but even so, there is nothing better than not rubbing it.

Incidentally, this rear diffuser fin has the same shape as the 911R, and has been attached since the late 991 GT3. So, you don't have to be so nervous about it because the early model GT3 doesn't have this.

Well, "If you have a sports car, park just in front of it, as it may bottom out at the car stop.I know it is common sense to say, "I'm afraid of this," but in the case of the GT3 Touring, it is especially scary. So, no matter where you park. You will always end up parking with half your head sticking out in front of you (explosion).

The other cars would have said, "What's with this Porsche, park it further back, out of the way.You may think, "I'm not trying to stand out," "I parked properly," or "I have bad manners," but I wanted to say out loud that I can't park any further back...I can't park any further back.

(iii) How comfortable is the ride?

The ride quality at low speeds is honestly not very good. It is one of the worst cars I have ever driven, or at least I think it is the worst Porsche I have ever driven.

On a clean road surface, it is still fine, but on a rough road surface, it easily picks up uneven surfaces and is quite bumpy. My husband has been talking about this for a long time.

The suspension must be hard, but the GT3 is RR and the front spring rate, which easily affects ride quality, is not that hard. More than that. The short stroke rate is what's making the ride uncomfortable at low speeds.I think.

He said.

When his wife, who normally drives a sleek, comfortable car such as a Mercedes or Lexus, gets in the GT3, she says, "What a uncomfortable car! And it's so expensive!and the first impression is likely to be the worst.

So in such a case, I think it is better to tell your wife beforehand that "in the first place, it is a racing car that can be driven on a circuit and is completely different from the car you normally drive" (laughs).

On the other hand. The ride on the highway is very smooth and supple. It's hard to believe it's the same car, and I even think, "Isn't that better than the Boxster?" I even think, "It's better than the Boxster. It is so smooth and comfortable.
