A Porsche Owner Who’s a Chiropractor

The other day, I was deeply moved by the customer service of TAKURO, a hair salon owner and a car friend of my husband, and introduced him in an article titled “The Work Ethic of Porsche Owners,” which received a great response.

Since then, I’ve been thinking, “If I get the chance, I’d like to write about the work ethic of other Porsche owners as well.” Today, I want to introduce the work style of T, the owner of the chiropractic clinic I visit.

T is a Porsche enthusiast recognized by himself and others, a friend of my husband’s Porsche circle, who has owned a 911 GT3 RS, Macan, Boxster Spyder, and an air-cooled Porsche 911 (930).

The first time I visited T’s clinic was about two months after giving birth to our third child, a son. He was a large baby, weighing over 3,500 grams at birth and already over 5 kilograms at his one-month checkup.

While I was happy he was growing well, I constantly worried, “If I keep holding him all the time, my lower back will definitely suffer.” (I had a slipped disc from holding my second daughter too much.)

Also, I had heard that postpartum pelvic correction helps your body shape return more easily, so I told my husband I was interested in chiropractic care for that reason as well. Then he said,

If that’s the case, why not try T’s clinic? A friend of mine hurt her ribs and nothing helped, but after treatment at T’s place, she was completely healed and very happy. He’s really skilled.

That’s how I learned about T.

I checked his website right away and saw that many moms come for postpartum pelvic correction, so I thought, “This might be perfect for me right now.” I decided to try it once.

After making an appointment and completing my first one-hour session, I was amazed. The bones around my pelvis had clearly shifted inward, and when I checked myself in a full-length mirror, the tension in my lower back and thighs was noticeably relieved.

I was thrilled, thinking, “No matter what I did before, my lower body never slimmed down, but to see a change after just one session is incredible!” I continued visiting regularly for about two months and now go once a month for maintenance.

It’s been eight months since I started, and the visible effects include slimming of my lower body and my pants from before my first pregnancy fitting loosely again. (Though I’m still quite a bit heavier than when I was single, haha.)

Every day, I carry my son, who weighs over 10 kg, on my back in a baby carrier for about 5 to 6 hours while doing housework and writing my blog, but so far, I haven’t had any back pain or discomfort—not even a slipped disc.

Not to brag, but I don’t exercise or do any strength training (though I probably should, haha), so I’m really surprised by the results.

A Commitment to Customer Satisfaction

Regarding T’s work ethic, beyond his technical skill, I was especially impressed by his commitment to customer satisfaction, ability to open people’s hearts, and motivational power. I’d like to focus on these points.

First, about his commitment to customer satisfaction, T recently said:

I place the utmost importance on impressing customers the first time they come. If they don’t feel the effects on their first visit, there won’t be a second. There are an astonishing number of chiropractic clinics nowadays, but to be chosen among them, it’s crucial to deliver results on the first visit and exceed customers’ expectations and move them emotionally. That’s what I aim for every day in my treatments.

T was once introduced in a book as having the “hands of a god,” but I felt his skill is truly supported by his belief in giving customers a moving experience.

Also, T has been running his clinic alone since opening. It’s by appointment only and always one-on-one treatment. When I asked why, he explained:

People often imagine chiropractic clinics with multiple beds lined up, separated by curtains… This allows treating several customers simultaneously, increasing the clinic’s revenue. But I believe one-on-one treatment allows me to provide greater satisfaction both through conversation and treatment, so I operate this way. Many business owners and people in important positions come to my clinic, and it can be hard to talk about work with others around. But one-on-one, customers feel safe to open up, leading to honest and deep conversations. Some even say, “Talking with T is the highlight of my visits.” Also, if the therapist changes every time, even if customers say “I feel better” or “That felt good,” their fundamental issues might not improve in the long run. I make sure to conduct thorough counseling at the first visit, sharing their lifestyle, current concerns, and goals, so I want to take responsibility until the very end.

This appointment-only, one-on-one style was also very helpful for me, as I have to move around with a baby.

T’s words and actions are always rooted in the belief of “how can I make customers even happier?”, and that unwavering dedication is truly professional.

The Ability to Open People’s Hearts

Regarding his ability to open people’s hearts, T has exceptional communication skills. He’s like the “sun” in the story of the North Wind and the Sun—warm and gentle. Before you know it, you find yourself completely opening up to him.

I think this is because T is very skilled at getting into people’s comfort zones.

He’s great at listening and drawing out stories, but he’s also genuine and shares a lot about himself. He neither pushes too hard to get close nor keeps too distant, maintaining a comfortable balance, so you naturally start sharing more and more.

As you communicate, your sense of security with T builds trust, and since he understands your body better than you do, you feel like you want to keep asking him for treatment.

Motivational Power

Finally, what I find amazing about T is his motivational power.

I’m in my 30s and have given birth three times, gaining 10–12 kg each pregnancy and struggling to lose it afterward, growing quite a bit compared to my single days, haha.

But after my first son was born, I vaguely thought, “This will be my last birth, so I want to lose weight this time.” When I casually mentioned this to T, he said,

This is a great opportunity—let’s do our best! Let’s surprise the people you meet on Royu Driveway! I’ll support you!

True to his words, T taught me a lot based on his experience about how important diet management is compared to exercise and what it means to eat balanced, healthy meals three times a day. When I visited for treatment, he encouraged me, saying, “Don’t worry, you’re definitely seeing results!” to keep my motivation up.

For someone like me who had a 20-year habit of snacking (I used to eat six choco pies first thing in the morning…), changing habits was tough. But by taking two steps forward and one step back repeatedly, I steadily improved. Now, my digestion is better, my skin breakouts have almost disappeared, and I’m living the healthiest life I’ve had in the last 10 years.

I couldn’t quit sweets before, but now I’m satisfied without eating much, and my pants are naturally loosening without forcing it. I’m truly grateful to T for giving me this turning point.

Professional Customer Service from a Porsche Owner

As I felt when receiving TAKURO’s customer service, a true professional in customer service is someone who can motivate others and inspire behavioral change.

They draw out the passion sleeping inside a person and push them toward realization. Over the long term, they can even change their customers’ lives. I think that’s what it means to be a professional.

Just like Porsche, which constantly improves to be the best sports car, Porsche owners also pursue, deepen, and master their work, continually honing their skills.

There’s so much to learn from this work ethic. Going forward, I want to continue learning from the work styles of Porsche owners around me and improve my own life.
