Swift Sport Sold!
I’m happy to report that thanks to all of you readers and the retweets on Twitter, my current beloved car, the Suzuki Swift Sport, has been successfully sold.
Thank you so very much!
The Suzuki Swift Sport was delivered in October 2021 and served as my trusty companion for about a year and a half. It clocked around 9,500 km. Since it was mainly used around the neighborhood, I drove it almost every day, but the mileage wasn’t very high.
This was the car I found when I was looking for a “car around 2 million yen budget, fun to drive with a manual transmission, seats five, compact, and easy for daily use.”
I wasn’t fixated on buying new, but when I searched for a used Swift Sport MT on car sites at that time, prices were quite high, and I thought, “Huh? This is almost the same price as buying new…” so I decided to buy it new.
It’s a 2021 model, 6-speed MT, 1370cc, with Burning Red Pearl Metallic body color and a black two-tone roof, plus decals on the hood and sides.
Being the first new car I ever purchased, it holds a special place in my heart.
Thanks to this Swift Sport, I went from having zero skill and a strong dislike for rev-matching to doing it naturally, like breathing in and out. If my budget allowed, I’d love to keep it as a second car forever—it’s that good.
Sale Proceeds Used for Carrera T Purchase
The reason I decided to sell the Swift Sport was because I purchased my first Porsche, a 911 Carrera T. Initially, I planned to take my time selling the Swift Sport (though the plan was to use the sale money as a down payment for the Carrera T).
Since the delivery of the Carrera T seemed delayed, I listed the Swift Sport in early March, thinking it would be fine to sell it around June.
So I didn’t want it to sell too quickly and initially priced it aggressively at 1.89 million yen (market price was about 1.7 million yen).
However, the delivery of the Carrera T was moved up, and I realized, “If this keeps up, I won’t have the Swift Sport sale funds ready in time for the down payment.”
So I cleaned the interior areas that looked dirty in the photos, had the pictures retaken and replaced, and boldly dropped the price by 400,000 yen to 1,498,000 yen. (I think this was the lowest market price at the time, lol.)
I then tweeted that if it didn’t sell by the end of April, I would withdraw the listing and sell through a bulk dealer appraisal, asking for retweets.
Price drastically reduced from 1.89 million yen to 1.49 million yen for my 2021 Suzuki Swift Sport (MT) listed on Kababa! Similar listings on Car Sensor are around 1.7 million yen, so this should be a great deal! If it doesn’t sell this month, I’ll withdraw and sell via dealer appraisal. Please RT, I’d be so grateful 😭https://t.co/yekhH2Xvih pic.twitter.com/RT09YPk6Gr

Thanks to everyone’s help, it finally sold at 1,498,000 yen at the very end of April, and the sale went through smoothly. (Currently, we’re exchanging paperwork.) Truly, thank you so much!
Porsche 911 Carrera T Delivery Confirmed…
This was my first time listing a car on Kababa, and I learned a lot.
When selling a car, it’s important to thoroughly clean both the exterior and interior before appraisal and pay attention to every detail. I also realized I should have monitored market trends more closely before listing and that it’s crucial to allow plenty of time when selling on Kababa. (Maybe I should have listed it right after New Year’s.)
There’s a big difference between just hearing about others’ experiences and actually doing it yourself, and I feel this was a valuable experience.
Above all, I’m truly grateful for everyone’s retweets. There were moments when I felt like giving up and told my husband, “There’s no way this will sell! I’m just going to trade it in for a bit over 1 million yen!” but thanks to all of you, I made it this far.
I want to express my heartfelt thanks again… truly, thank you so much!
…So regarding the Carrera T, I recently completed the pre-delivery procedures, and the delivery is set for the end of May. I hope to write about that experience soon as well.
