I Tried PhotoLab: Turn Your Porsche Photos into Artwork in Seconds
Published: 2018.05.28
The Blog Logo Problem
The other day, my husband asked, “Why is our blog logo so weird?” Our old logo was a red-and-black steering wheel I’d downloaded from a free image site. It was so blurry you could barely tell what it was supposed to be—not exactly a great look.
“Let’s change it!” I thought. I looked for a free Porsche logo, but while there were plenty for the 911, I couldn’t find one for the Panamera. And designing one myself was out of the question. Then I wondered if I could use an app to turn a photo of our car into an illustration and make it look like a logo.
I Found an App Called PhotoLab
After some searching, I came across an app called PhotoLab. It’s free to install, but the free version won’t let you save your edited images. So I signed up for the three-day trial and decided to give it a go with a photo of our car. Here’s the first one I tried.
Oh, this looks pretty good! ( ゚∀゚)・∵. 。
It really looks like it was drawn in colored pencil! That got me excited, so I started editing more of our Panamera photos.

The colors and texture are beautiful, too. They look good enough to print, frame, and hang on the wall. I got so carried away that before I knew it, I’d edited about 50 photos.
I Tried It on Other Photos, Too
I wanted to make the most of the trial, so I tried it on photos of our previous Panamera Edition and a few other cars, too.

I have to admit, the Porsche logo looks pretty cool—but there’s no way I could use it as the blog logo.
So, What Happened to the Blog Logo?
In the end, I decided to use the first edited Panamera photo as both the blog logo and the profile icon. Here it is.

Hmm… sadly, I don’t think you can really call that a logo. (-_-)
“Well, I guess that’s what happens when you’re not a professional…” I was thinking, when my husband emailed me: “How about this?” Attached was this image.

Oh, that’s a logo! It really looks like a logo! ( ゚∀゚)・∵.
Apparently, he’d made it while he was at work (I wonder if he should really be doing this on the clock, haha), so I promptly put it on the blog!
And that’s how our “Welcome Home, PORSCHE” blog is gradually starting to look the part. Thanks for reading, and we hope you’ll keep following along!
