Finally, the Porsche Carrera T Has Arrived at Our Home! The Countdown to Delivery Begins!

How to Buy a Porsche

Carrera T, At Last

It’s been almost six years since I started this blog.

Back then, I launched it with a simple wish: “I hope to share the charm of our Panamera with more people.”

Thanks to that, this blog has grown into Japan’s most visited personal car blog.

To all the readers and my husband, who has been running this blog alongside me, thank you so much.

And the dream I had since then—to “buy a Porsche with my own money”—after six years, is finally about to come true.

The Carrera T I’ve Admired for Years

Last autumn, I took the plunge and ordered the Carrera T, fully prepared for the risks.

Actually, my fascination with the Carrera T began years ago when I saw the promotional video for the late-model 991 Carrera T (which was Racing Yellow at the time).

I was completely captivated by its coolness and dreamed of driving this model with a manual transmission.

“It’s so great! Although manual versions weren’t available in Japan back then, maybe I could import one myself! Someday, I want this Carrera T!”

I often told my husband this.

But the Carrera T felt like a distant dream, so much so that I even forgot I had said I wanted one…

Who would have thought that a few years later, with the right timing, I’d actually be able to buy a Carrera T?

Maybe my subconscious has been quietly longing for the Carrera T all along, haha.

Delivery Date Confirmed!

The Carrera T finished production in mid-February.

The production completion came sooner than expected, but the status on My Porsche didn’t change at all after that…

“Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? How long will it stay at the German port?” I anxiously checked every day, and about a month later,

the status finally updated, and the ship set sail.

However, the My Porsche status barely progressed, and around April 10, it was still near Yemen,

Then, I received a message from my dealer contact, Mr. H.

The Carrera T has smoothly reached offshore Malaysia. It’s currently scheduled to arrive at the dealership around mid-May, with delivery expected by the end of May.

As of yesterday, it’s already near Kagoshima!

Wow, finally! It’s come this far…!

I had thought there might be delays once it reached Japan, maybe pushing delivery to summer, but now the delivery date is in sight, and the dream feels more real. (Though I still can’t quite believe it…)

That said, my current car, the Swift Sport, hasn’t sold yet, so I need to handle that quickly, plus gather all the necessary paperwork…

On top of that, my work schedule is packed every day, but I must prepare properly to welcome the Carrera T!

Also, if I’m lucky enough to win a spot at the Porsche Festival in June, it would be perfect for breaking in the Carrera T, and if any blog readers are there, I could quietly show it off, which would be wonderful.

For now, I’ll make sure nothing slips through the cracks as I prepare. (I feel like something might slip, though…)

It’s really happening!
